Mrs. Wanda Lee Raby, 73, of Flint, MI, died Wednesday (1-5-2000) at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. She lived in the Flint area for more than 50 years, having formerly redided in Weiner. Survivors include her husband, James Raby of Flint; three daughters, Margaret Baillie of Durand, MI, Nancy Arndt of Key West, FL, and Sharon Yow of Linden, MI; two sisters, Elizabeth Howard and Faye Wade both of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Weiner, with Gary Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Weiner's Oak Grove Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 5 until 8 that evening at the funeral home. Vernon E. Ramsey, 78, of Harrisburg died Sunday, Oct. 6, at Methodist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born Feb. 12, 1913, in TN, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Harrisburg. His parents, Charles and Lou Ramsey and his wife, Mary Bonham Ramsey, preceded him in death. Sruvivors include two sons, Vernon Ramsey, Jr., of Finville, MI and Charles F. Ramsey of TX.; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith of Salem, IL; one sister, Mrs. Glodia Leamon of Salem, IL, and eight grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at Harrisburg City Cemetery with Rev. Bill Scoggs officiating. Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lorene Beatrice Redd, 96, of Harrisburg, died Thursday at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Tupelo, MS, she was a homemaker and a member of the Harrisburg First Assembly of God. Survivors include two sons, Melvin Redd and Edward Redd, both of Harrisburg; one brother, Lilburn Fowler of Trumann; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter and one son. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Newman and Rev. Mrs. Sallie Ann May Reddmann, 71, of 204 Hamilton, Harrisburg, widow of Lawrence Reddmann, died Tuesday, April 20th, as a result of an automobile accident in Memphis. Born at Bay Village April 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late C.W. "Bud" and Junie Dobson May. A homemaker, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg, the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and The Progressive Century Club. Survivors include two sons, Larry Reddmann and Gary Reddmann, both of Harrisburg; a daughter, Rebecca Reddmann Cannon of Jonesboro; three brothers, J.D. May of Harrisburg, Jack R. May of Alexandria, LA, and F. M. May of Lepanto; three sisters, Catherine Riechman and Rebecca Cooper, both of Harrisburg, and Avis Crawford of El Campo, TX; four grandchildren, Gregory Reddmann, Ashley Reddmann, Lee Reddmann and Dax Reddmann; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Reddman. One grandson, Phillip Reddmann, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 11:00 Thursday morning, April 22nd at First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg with Rev. James D. Ray Reed, 75, of Bay, died Monday afternoon in his residence. Born in Pea Ridge, he has lived in the Jonesboro-Bay area for 70 years. He was a retired farmer and was of the Pentecostal belief. Survivors include three daughters, Lethel Woods of Bono, Martha Maggard of Lake City and Jo Ella Miller of Walcott; four sons, Billy Reed of Paragould, Ronny Reed of Bowman, David Reed of Jonesboro and Luther Reed of Bay; his fiance, Altie Fleming of the home; three brothers, Gene Reed of Bay, Tommy Reed of Missouri and Charles Reed of Sacramento, CA; 33 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Reed. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, with Rev. J.W. "Dub" Adams officiating. Mrs. Helen Meister Reeves, 62, of Harrisburg, died Thursday in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg, she was a homemaker. Surviving are two sons, Robert Rieathbaum and Brandon Reeves of Harrisburg; one daughter, Cathie Rieathbaum Winkler of Jacksonville; and six granddaughters. A memorial service will be held this afternoon at 1:30 in the lobby of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home. Family members will read eulogies. The remains will be cremated Monday. Visitation will be from 8 to 11 this morning at Mrs. Reeves' residence, 801 West Griffin, Apt. 2, in Harrisburg.
Mrs. Metta Richardson, 93, of 409 Ellis Ave., Trumann, died Feb. 25, 2000. Mrs. Richardson was born July 25, 1906, in Bay Village and had lived most of her life in Trumann. She was a housewife and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Trumann. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Tolbert Owens, Teal Eden and Earl Richardson; two sons, Milburne Owens and Odell Owens; two brothers, John Hogan and Louis Rost. She was the daughter of the late John Hogan and Mammie Fisher Rost. Mrs. Richardson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Tatum of Trumann; two sons, Vernon Owens of Trumann and Wayne Owens of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Stegall of Red Banks, MS, and Mrs. Roberta Burris of Avon, IL; one brother, Melvin Hogan of Raytown, MO; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Trumann with Rev. Kenneth Doke and Rev. Carl Chandler officiating. Burial followed at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro. Mrs. Richardson's grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Cora Roberts, 84, of Lepanto died this morning at her home She had lived in Lepanto 40 years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. C.E. Broadway, Mrs. Bessie Maynard, both of Lepanto, and Mrs. Effie Kitchen of Long Beach; four sons, Walter Lee Roberts of Lepanto, Tommy Roberts, Henry Roberts, both of St. Louis, and Willard Roberts of San Antonio, and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Brannon of Etowah. Mrs. Della Ann Rodgers, 55, of 125 Jennifer St., Trumann, died March 3, 2000, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Mrs. Rodgers was born Sep. 23, 1944, in Jonesboro and lived most of her life in Trumann. She was a nurse's aide and had worked for the Arkansas Area Agency on Aging. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Trumann. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jarrod Lee Rodgers and was the daughter of the late Jessie and Bessie Pierce Williams. Mrs. Rodgers is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gayla Ann Greer of Trumann; three sons, Charles Victor Rodgers and Steven Brian Rodgers, both of Elkhart, IN, and Tony Wayne Rodgers of Trumann; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Vickers of Jonesboro and Mrs. Patsy Vickers of Trumann; two brothers, James Williams and Bobby Williams, both of Trumann; and ten grandchildren. Monica Bridges Rodgers, 51, of Blytheville, formerly of Harrisburg, died Thursday, July 10, near Harrisburg. She was a member of Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Marked Tree, where she served on the mothers board. Survivors include one daughter, Maddie Lee Jackson of Grand Rapids, MI; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Ross. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Marked Tree, with the Rev. James A. "Peck" Ruffin, 79, 320 Mildred Ave., Trumann, died Thursday (2-17-2000) in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Nov. 4, 1920 in Trumann and in early life moved to McCrory. He moved back to Trumann 58 years ago and was a retired millwright for the Singer Co. in Trumann. He was a past Master Mason and member of Trumann Masonic Lodge 693. A retired volunteer member of the Trumann Fire Dept., he was a member of the Trumann Planning and Zoning Comm., past member of the Poinsett Co. Rescue Squad and of the Providence Baptist Church in Trumann and was everyone's favorite fish cooker. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlyn Ruffin, in 1996; two sisters, two brothers and was the son of the late James Elbert and Minnie Thompson Ruffin. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Ruffin of the home; two daughters, Billie Rogstad of Nesbit, MS, and Patsy Carter of Trumann; two sons, Dan Ruffin of Gallatin, TN, and Rick Ruffin of Franklin,TN; one sister, Wilma Shadwick of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
