LULA E. EMBREY
Clute-Lula Ethel Embrey, 89, of Clute, Texas, died November 30 at Woodlake Nursing Home in Clute.
Services will be today at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Dr. John Hatch officiating. Visitation was held Monday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at National Cememtery, 523 Confederat Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5.
Mrs. Embrey was born on October 23, 1902 in Yell Co, AR. She was a housewife, member of First Baptist Church of Galveston and a Native of Arkansas.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jack Embrey and his wife Gerry of Huntsville, John Embrey and his wife Helen of Perryville, Arkansas; 1 daughter, Helen Menard and husband Chuck of Clute, Texas;2 sisters, Susie Myers of Galveston and Nan Chenault of Galveston;7 grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Lee Embrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Diabetes Association, 2211 Norfolk, Suite 614, Houston TX, 77098.
Note: Lula Embrey was a daughter to John & Blanche Gardner Hanna, she was born in Nimrod and married in Nimrod; her date of death is Nov 30 1991.
LESTER L. EMBREY
Lester L. Embrey, aged 70, of 1406 Center Street, a retired employee of the Rock Island Lines, died Wednesday. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employess. He was a veteran of World War One. Survivors include his wife, Lula E. Hanna Embrey; two sons, Jack Embrey of Alexandria, VA., and Johnie Embrey of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Menard of Clute, TX; two half brothers, Ben Embrey and Wes Walker of Oklahoma City, Okla; two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Martin of Gravelly, Yell Co AR and Mrs. Maudie Van Gilder of Henderson KY., and seven granchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Drummond Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Hermon. Pallbearers will be C.H. Parker, C.I. Hogan, W.W. Bledsoe, R.C. Grissom, J.O. Lindsey and C.J. Burleson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Rock Island Lines. Burial will be at National Cemetery.
Note: Lester Embrey was called "Chock"; son of Robert and Mary Weaver Embrey; he was born in Sugar Loaf, Sebastian Co AR Nov 13 1894; date of death was Jul 28 1965.
