Montgomery Co. ARGenWeb Project

This cemetery as it in the middle of the National Forest and you will  need a Ouachita National Forest Map to find it or a GPS finder! N 65 19   W80  and N 60  W 80.   It is between Hwy 270 on the west and the Hwy 27 on the east.  Take the second road on the left north of the Sweethome Church and head west on a dirt road about five miles. Watch for deer. On NF Rd 127 head towards River Bluff but don't take the River Bluff Rd. Turn right at first intersection, and head north, drive passed the sign for River Bluff and look for the Piney Cemetery sign immediately on the left. On W44 - the road dead ends at the cemetery.  The cemetery looks abandoned but there are new headstones from the year 2000.  John Elder donated land for this cemetery. Only four rows and a small fenced ?grave on the right down the road ?Shucks 1900 or Plyer. A few natural rocks for headstones  markers. About 40 graves, at least 7 unmarked. Transcribed during a visit to the cemetery 14 August 2006 by Olwyn. Another site.
