He went by the name of Issac Jr. his mother was thought to be Julia Minton, who married later Dave Robertson. I'd like to throw this out to any Mays or related persons. If you see anything recognizable let me know.
The Mays of my line have been in the country since the 1630s I understand. I'm in the sporadic process of working my way back. Currently, as can be seen below, I'm in the 1830-1915 period. I've just started recently working from the Ludwig line and intercepted the May line at abt 1885 when O.C. Ludwig Married Eliz. Emmiline May. From here I'm not having much luck with the Ludwig line before about 1850. Although the May line appears more promising as there are what appear to be "billions of them"
My Mays left Tn. Dickerson Co. in 1833 for Ark. Knoxville ,Johnson Coby 1834 . They entered land ownership/farming in the general areas of and surrounding Johnson Co. TK and some brothers began a mercantile business abt  1855 in Clarksville and got disgustingly rich from it. Some names associated with the family are: AJ and IS Swaggerty, Vaughn, Varnell, Cunningham, Burns, Simpson, Pennington . McConnell , Sarber, Neughet, Root, Van Buren, Adams, McKinnons, Taylor, Brown
Generally this is accurate: Not necessarily in order of birth and some offspring missing

I am trying to find ANY information on the following families who lived in Hot Springs County, Montgomery County, Garland County and Saline County.
Manerva Thomas b. 1835 in Blount Co. Ala., m. Jacob J. Thomas in Tn or Al. before 1856. Two children known were Margaret J. Thomas b. ca 1856 and Melissa E. Thomas b. 1861. Jacob died in the Civil War and after 1880 Manerva moved her family to Arkansas. She bought land in Montgomery Co. and when she died in 1898 she is buried at Howerton/Wildwood Cemetary in Montgomery Co.

Margaret Thomas first married Robert Freeman before 1874 and had Hunter Nelson Freeman b. 1874, Donald A. Freeman b. 1877 and Alan W. Freeman b. 1879. We do not know what happened to Robert but in the late 1880's Margaret Thomas Freeman married James Wacaster Jr. in Garland or Montgomery Co. Ark. They had one son named Taylor and I believe there are still relatives living in the area that I would love to contact.
Melissa Thomas m. John Franklin Harmon in the early 1880's. They had Joseph F. Harmon b. Sept. 1882 and Oscar Canada Harmon b. Hot Springs 1886. Melissa must have died (possibly in Saline County or Hot Springs County) as John F. Harmon married second, Ada A. Mullens (Melissa's cousin) in 1889 Saline County. John and Ada later moved to Oklahoma.
What happened to Joseph A. Harmon. In 1908 on a land deed he is listed as married to Eugenia. Where were and when were they married?
Melissa Thomas Harmon died between 1886 and 1889. Where? When?
Donald Alan Freeman died after 1920's in Pulaski County, Ark. Where is he buried?
Hunter Nelson Freeman died after 1940. Looking for any descendants of Hunter, Donald, Joseph Harmon and Oscar Harmon.

Alexander "Ellic" HALL was buried in the Lowe Cemetery in what is now Garland Co, AR.
Nancy, James "Jim" HALL, and infant daughter all three died the same week in Hawes, Montgomery (now Garland Co), AR. I don't know where they are buried, but would probably be in Lowe Cemetery or possibly Oak Grove Cemetery. I haven't been there in years and need to check them out again, since I have learned new info. Mergoin is a township. It includes Hot Springs.

Am researching my HULSEY/JONES family in Montgomery County. William Andrew JONES was born 2 Jan. 1867 in Montgomery County. His mother was Nancy Katherine HULSEY born January, 1850 in Union County, Georgia daughter of Salathiel HULSEY and Elizabeth?. William's father was Joseph JONES, also, possibly from Georgia. Know nothing else about Joseph. Nancy's brother, Benjamin Franklin HULSEY, lived in Center Twsp and married Sarah G. Partain then Lucy Morgan. Another brother, Jesse HULSEY, lived in Gap Twsp. and married Rachel E. Hankin/Rankin. Rachel later married Jerry Smith and lived in Center Twsp. Nancy Katherine was found on the 1870 Montgomery County census living in the Marzan Twsp in the household of John L. Moore as a domestic servant. Child, William, is listed with her. She is found on the 1880 Garland County Census for Hot Springs Twsp living in household with Robert H. Whish with children William, Sophronia, Julia, John, and Charles. Last three children were born to Nancy Katherine and Robert Whish. Nancy Katherine HULSEY is listed as a widow in this census. Widow to who? Family info states that she was not married to Joseph JONES. Would appreciate any input into who Joseph JONES might have been. Was he a resident of Montgomery County or just someone passing through. Also, any info on the HULSEY families living in Montgomery County. Have never been able to trace when this family came to Arkansas from Georgia. Would have been after 1854 as family was found in 1850 census of Union County, Georgia. Another brother of Nancy Katherine, Robert HULSEY, was living in Hempstead County in 1860 but no sign of the rest of this family. Any info on the HULSEY family or any insight on who Joseph  JONES could have been would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think I can be of much help at all in your search, but I was going through my grandmother's address book and found a Mrs. Andrew Hulsey, Box 5, Mt. Ida (Mont. Co.) with a phone number of 867-2831. Now, this address book was filled out between approx. 1965-1980. Maybe you could check with the post office and find out the current address or check directories, etc. Oh, the reason I wrote was because my grandma married an Andrew G. Jones, and i think they may have lived in Mont. Co. for a bit. I checked over my family line on Jones, but I didn't find a Joseph Jones, and my line started from Alabama, at least from 1754, before moving to Ark. Most of them lived in Scott County, and Pike Co. But, it seemed a coincidence that my grandparents were Joneses, and she had a Hulsey name and address! So, who knows? Anyway, this might not help much, but thought I would pass this info along to you.

Hi Betty,
I have a photo of a group of men standing out in the open all grouped up like a work gang or something. Even though my G-Uncle Lionel HOWARD and his older brother Daniel Thomas HOWARD (my G-father) both worked for the railroad in or around Montgomery Co. AR. in the late 1800's and early 1900's this group does not look like a R.R. crew, looks more like a sawmill gang to me. I can e-mail you a copy of the photo, but I will tell you right off that only my G-Uncle is identified, no one else. Would you have any further info on this group? thanks,

Sawmill Camps
by Larry & Bettie Dowler
Thanks for the replies about the sawmill camps. I think the sawmill page would be an interesting addition to "our" Montgomery County website. My grandfather, Robert Lee Scott, worked in the sawmills in and around Montgomery County. When a mill moved, the workers would move their families to the new location. I remember my father saying that as soon as they would get to the new mill site, a house would be started for them. By nightfall, the shanty would be ready for them to move in. Bettie

5/25/2000, 12:41:28 PM
Hello List,
Does anyone know if and if so what news paper would have covered the news events in the Waters/Pine Ridge area around 1876 to 1880? My ggg grandfather John Gillean and one of his sons Virgel were gunned down on their homestead shortly after moving there from Walker County, Ga. They were buried where they fell and for a long time the graves were surrounded by a picket fence which has since gone by the wayside so we have no way of finding the graves which are somewhere on the right side of the road about a half mile west of the Pine Ridge Church and Cemetery in back of the Jot em Down Store. The land was sold after my g grandfather passed in May of 1950. The story has always been passed down but the reason was lost with the passing of the oldtimers. Any help at all would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Has anyone researched the Carr or Karr families who lived in the Montgomery Co. area including Isaac A. Karr and Ada Asberry Carr?
Any help is appreciated.

5/25/2000, 4:14:06 PM
My great grandmother was Mary Luiza Karr, daughter of Isaac Karr and his first wife Mary.
Ada Asberry Karr/Carr was the daughter of Isaac Karr and his second wife Rachal Johnson.

Isaac Karr born September 1823 in South Carolina and died probably in Montgomery County. Married 1st to Mary, born about 1835. Mary died in April 1870 in childbirth (Clark County Mortality Schedule).
According to census records, Isaac and Mary's children were:

I will be happy to share anything I have on the Karr family. I have descendants of most of the couples that are listed.
There are several articles written about the Anderson family (Ada Asberry Karr md. Thomas Newton Anderson) in the Montgomery County Our Heritage books.
Corrections and additions to the information given above will be appreciated. Bettie

This was recently posted to the KYMONTGO listgroup on Rootsweb (Volume 00 :
Issue 113)--also known as the Kentucky--Montgomery County list. A kind soul is listing summaries of Kentucky pioneer families from a book.

Maybe someone on our list can use this one:
SINGLETON, Spiers Singleton was the son of George Singleton, of N.C. He married LUCINDA WHITESIDES of Christian Co., KY., and settled in Illinois, where he died, leaving a widow and 7 children. Her brother, James Whitesides, brought her and the children to Montgomery Co., and attended to their wants until the children were grown, and at his death, he left most of his property to them. The names of the children were James W., Ewell D., John S., Emeline, Cynthia A., Polly and Mary A.

On my grandmother mitties marriage document it says she was from Waters. Was there such a place in Montgomery county around 1904? Pine Ridge. I would like some one to do a obit lookup of George A Thompson. I have two conflicting scenarios. One says he was deceased on the 1910 Montgomery co census( MY grandmother was widowed and living with George W Thompson with her deceased husbands children, Lem and ecil. other information points to his death in1970, to be able to research more effectively I need more help. My grandmother was married to a Saunders or Saunders prior to the marriage of George A thompson. I am trying to see if In 1900 she was living in waters with this ( Mr. Sanders or whoever) I am not sure if their were city directories for that location , I am seeking information for, any help would  be appreciated. In the Montgomery County Cemetery Book at the East Washita Cemetery it says 9 graves unmarked. Would anyone have any idea who are supposed to be buried in these 9 unmarked graves? And how this number came about. Any information on this cemetery would be greatly appreciated. I know there are two babies of Alfred B. Beam around Oden
Olwyn 9/1/2000, 8:13:08 AM
Is anyone researching the Beam's around Oden? Family connections may not be apparent from headstone inscriptions. e.g. At the Oden Cemetery in the same vicinity there are headstones for Stevan Hinson 1844-1931, Sarah and Rufus Beam, James Whitehouse with a foot maker for Ella. Stevan is the father of Sarah. Rufus is a sister to Ella. Stevan went to live with his daughter Sarah when he was ill so was buried at Oden. Osa Ella BEAM was born 07 Aug 1884 at Paris, Arkansas. Sarah and Rufus Beam and James and Ella Whitehouse lived on the southside of the river.

Mary Ann Cottrell (aka Cautrell) m. Elic C. Cox on 5-24-1908 in Montgomery County. His residence was listed as Womble, Mont. Co., AR and hers in Manfred, Mont. Co.

Phillips - Jackson
by List user
I'm looking for information about my ggrandparents, John Fearney PHILLIPS and Mary Ann JACKSON. They were married in Montgomery County 22 Feb 1866. They had three boys, James Riley (Jim), b. 22 Dec 1866; Zachariah Hartless (Zack), b. 22 Feb 1868; and Noah, b. 1870.

John F. Phillips is said to have been a Christian preacher (my aunt emphasized the word "Christian," so I think it means a denomination). John and Mary Ann were divorced (I don't know when or where) and he moved away and remarried. He is believed to have died about 1900. Mary Ann probably died before then.

I would particularly like to more about the JACKSONs, because I only know that Mary Ann's father was Tom JACKSON and her mother's maiden name was MILLER. Mary Ann may have had a brother named Tom. Does anyone have information on any of these names in Arkansas?

I've been reading with interest about the wagon train TO Arkansas. Does anyone have information on a wagon train FROM the Mt. Ida area to Oklahoma around 1913 or 1914? My father, Clark Knight, used to tell us about going to Oklahoma in a wagon train and crossing the Arkansas (?) River. My memory of his story is rather vague, but I do know that he loved to tell about how fifty years later when he was flying a Comanche airplane that he flew over the same route that he had walked as a six or seven year old boy (this was in the 1960's).

Simpson Genealogy List user 11/15/2000, 2:58:36 AM
My Montgomery County interest goes back to the mid 1800s when my great-great grandfather, John M. Simpson who was born in Alabama, was a Mt. Ida merchant ca 1854 prior to becoming involved in the civil war. As a Captain of Company F of the 4th Arkansas, he was mortally wounded at the battle of Elkhorn Tavern (Pea Ridge). I have searched in vein for his history prior to that, and am equally interested in what happened to his body and also to family following his death.
The 1860 Montgomery County Census shows him as the head of a household of 5 - his wife, Mary A. (thought to have been a Scott), and children Samuel W. W.  C., and Susannah.
His son, Samuel Wilson Simpson wound up in Scott County by the time he was an adult and it is from him that I descend. It is believed that his son W C  (probably William since he was known as Bill) relocated to Texas.

Any information at all will be deeply appreciated.

Fourth Arkansas Regiment
11/15/2000, 7:30:12 AM

Fourth Arkansas Infantry Regiment, C.S.A. first campaign was at Elk Horn Tavern, known as Pea Ridge by the Union forces. The dead of both armies at Elkhorn (Pea Ridge) were buried on the battlefield. After the war their bodies were removed to cemeteries at Fayetteville, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri.

SIMPSON, John H. Capt. of Co. F. 4th Ark. Inf. (d. 1862)
CSA - Company F. 4th AR Inf.
A merchant in Montgomery Co, before the war was elected captain of the Montgomery Hunters. He was shot in the thigh bone at the Battle of Elk Horn (Pea Ridge), fought in Washington County, Arkansas, on the 7th and 8th (Friday and Saturday) of March, 1862. Capt. Simpson charged the enemy's battery to the cannon's mouth, and springing upon one of the guns, whilst waving his sword and cheering his men on, fell seriously wounded in both legs a few feet from the cannon and died about 30th March, 1862. The Camp, the Bivouac, and the Battlefield : being the historyof the Fourth Arkansas Regiment, from its first organization down to the present date; Its Campaigns and its Battles / 1864 Selma / Little Rock : Arkansas Southern Press, 1958 Available via interlibrary loan. Contains the muster rolls of the companies with the demise of each soldier.

Dr. Washington Layfaytte Gammage b.1827, the surgeon of the Regiment, was with the Fourth Arkansas from its onset and participated in all its toils, its marches, its triumphs and its disasters. He kept a journal during the war and in 1864 before the war ended published "The Camp, the Bivouac, and the Battlefield" which covers the regimental history until December 1863. Gammage survived the war but was killed in an accident in Mobile, Alabama while on his way home to Cherokee Co., Texas. News of his death never reached his home county.

Gammage wrote page 7: "what pen yet has told of the sufferings and toils and privations, the patriotism and heroism and deathless courage, the daring and gallant conduct and the chivalry of the humble musketeer, who, with scant rations and scantier pay has toiled and marched and suffered and bled in his country's cause, much of the time with clothes so tattered and torn that the bleak winds of winter whistled through the rents of immunity, and the hard and stony earth, on more than one weary march, bore bloody evidence of their blistered and naked feet. - Alas, how many of these gallant dead have gone from the ranks of their company, unknown to the world, pierced by the enemy's rifle

page 59 26 Oct. 1862
"But saddest of all, we have watched her brave boys falling out of the ranks by sickness, and the enemy's bullets, never to answer the roll call, or turn out with musket and bayonet at the long roll of the drum which calls to arms, until now more than half the number of those who joined at the first enlistment, are either sleeping that last sleep which knows no waking this side of eternity, or are broken down by disease, or crippled by the loss of a limb for life."

Lone Star community was located approximately five miles southeast of Sims, and just south of the current site of the Lone Star Church on Highway 298. Residents in South Fork Township in the 1880 census who probably lived in the Lone star area were William G. Copeland, plus families named Johnson, McCullar, Shirley and Amerson.

The county tax records for 1890 show that among those owning land in the Lone Star area were T.M. Knight, T.J. Amerson, J.W. Johnson, Jerry Maddox, W.F. McCullar, Joseph Shirley, W.P. Sims and A.J. Warren

In 1851 Balaam Strawn built a grist mil at the lower narrows on the Caddo River. Middleton Reynolds had a grist mill here. David Bassinger built a log store, which was also a post office and the New Hope MasonicLodge No. 42 met on the second floor, beside his large two story house.

Re: Simpsons in Montgomery Co. AR
List user 11/17/2000, 6:45:55 AM Melodee,
I wish I could tell you. I visited in Mount Ida about 12 years ago, and there were still relatives there who knew where "the mill" had been. I wish I had visited the site, but we didn't have the time. It was supposedly on the property where now there is a boys' camp that is owned by Rip Torn, the actor. My father was born in 1906 or 1907 (the date was not recorded until much after his birth), and we have a picture of him at the Lone Star School in February 1912, so the family was still in Mt. Ida at that time. Thomas Knight died in 1933 and is buried in Hope, AR, but I do not know if he kept the mill all that time. He would have been 81 when he died.

There have been posts on this loop and on others about someone else running the mill and about someone losing a limb while working there, but I remember that my father described it as a family affair. He (Clark) and his brother (Jack) as very young boys helped out. My dad often told of having to roll the logs in the river as well as chip bark off when the process missed some of it. I'm sure those were tasks that kids could handle. My dad did say that there was considerable danger involved in being around the rather large logs.
Thanks for the information.

Carylon,
It would indeed be interesting if we're all talking about the same mill. Thomas Knight and his family moved to Mt. Ida about 1885. One of his children was born in 1884 in Alabama, and the next was born in Mt. Ida in 1886. Maybe we can piece this together. There should be deed records somewhere in Arkansas, yes?

Mike,
Do you live in that area of Arkansas? I mentioned earlier to someone else, that in 1988 I went there and found some people that if they weren't relatives, they were in-laws or close friends of the Knights, I think. Anyway, they ran a little cafe in Mt. Ida, and the husband was associated with a bank. We stopped at the cafe, and they called them, and we went out to their house and had a nice visit. They lived on the highway at the edge of town.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would really like to know who the people were that we visited.
I know this sounds weird, but I think this is the only way I'm going to find out who the step sisters and brothers were for my father. My father (Clark Knight) had a father, (Abner B. Knight) who married several times. We don't know who any of his other wives were.
Thanks for the information on the location of the mill.

'Montgomery County: Our Heritage Vol. 1' Sion Sherrill Smith page 211
Sion Sherrill Smith was born February 11, 1867 near Rome, Georgia, the son of Ely and Susan Sherrill Smith. Other members of the Ely Smith family were William, Nancy Rebecca (later Mrs. John A. Watkins) and Almyra.

The Ely Smith family with three or four other families left Georgia about 1870 and headed west to seek their fortunes. After about three months of rough travelling by oxen, horse and mule conveyancies over undeveloped roads, they landed at Mount Ida. Every family in the group was so pleased with the county that all of them made Mount Ida there home.

Ely Smith, father of Sion Smith, purchased a farm adjacent to Mount Ida, the residence being located where the Post Office now stands, [1986].

On December 25, 1889 Sion married Roberta Christine Perrin and to this union were born Ely Perrin, Sion Sherrill, Jr., and Hal Perrin Smith. In 1925 Sion sold his property in Mount Ida and moved to a farm near Marianna.

Sion Smith was a Presbyterian and a member of Mount Ida Lodge #140, F. and AM. His wife was a Presbyterian and a member of the Eastern Star. They donated the land for the site of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Ida.

Sion Sherrill Smith died April 19, 1951 and Roberta Christine Smith died 17, 1960. Both are buried in the Mount Ida Cemetery. By William WATKINS.

Has any one ever heard of Myer Cemetery? My James Tallant is suppose to be buried there. His wife Matilda Mitchell Tallant is buried at Mount Taber, Amity, Montgomery Co, Arkansas. Any information would be great...I have looked in both Montgomery Co, and Pike county cemetery listing and found no listing.

The old name for Peak Cemetery in Garland County, Arkansas is Meyer Cemetery. The area was in Montgomery County, AR until 1917.

BOWEN FAIR THOMPSON REHDER

Ancestoras of Effie May (Thompson) Fair Bowen Grimm Sheppy
I am the only surviving grandchild of Effie May Fair Bowen Grimm Sheppy born December 28, 1904 in Oden, Arkansas, rural route. Effie May married William Louis Bowen on December 25, 1921. Their only son, John D. Russell Bowen, was born July 28, 1922 in Oden Arkansas (Pencil Bluff), Montgomery Co. Together with three of my distant relatives from the Bowen/Standridge family tree (Russell Pierce Baker, Debbie Jacobs and Michael Lacefield) we have collected much history on the Bowen side of this family going back to Thomas Bowen (before 1784 in Wilkes Co, NC) and his two sons Isaac Bowen (wife Mary "Polly" Ray)
and Thomas Ray Bowen - Mar 8, 1788 - Wilkes Co. NC (wife Elisa Beth "Betsy" Hunt - Mar 15, 1796 Greenville Co SC). My father descends from a son of Thomas and Betsy Hunt Bowen, Frances Marion Bowen:

Frances Marion Bowen -Jan 31, 1834 Shoal Creek, White
Co. GA and his wife Temperance M.A. Standridge - June
11, 1836 Shoal Creek, White Co. GA to:

John Hunt Bowen - Feb 1, 1855 - GA and his Mary Rose
Ann Hutchison "Roseanna" - Apr 8, 1852 - Boone Co, AR to:

James Shelton Monroe Bowen - Nov 9, 1878 - Polk Co. AR
and his wife Sarah Emmaline Jane Hughes Jun 19, 1880 - Arkadelphia, Clark Co. AR to:

William L. Bowen- May 16, 1902 - Montgomery Co, AR and his wife Effie May Fair Dec 28, 1904 - Oden,Montgomery Co AR.

My father John D Russell Bowen and my brother Russell Dee Bowen are buried side by side and share a headstone in the Lower Big Fork Cemetery in Polk County AR. They are buried near James Monroe Bowen and Sarah Emmaline Hughes Bowen and Roseanna Hutchison Bowen.

I am now researching my Grandmother Effie May Fair and her descendents from her father and her mother's side of my family tree. Effie May Fair's father was James Adam Fair (born January 6, 1893 in Mississippi ?) and her mother was Lillis Nona Thompson born October 6, 1874 in Arkansas. James Adam Fair and Lillis Nona Thompson were married December 29, 1893 in Montgomery Co. AR. I have a page from a family bible, loose photographs found in a box among Grandmother Effie's  keepsakes and the guest book from her funeral on March 2, 1983 at the Memorial Park Chapel in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Names from Bible Ledger:

Katie Maud Fair: Aug 26, 1886
Married: July 1905
Anna Nora Fair: Nov 30, 1889
Married: June 3, 1906
Mollie Myrtle Fair: May 12, 1895
Married: John Rehder Mar 5, 1916
Children: Paulrita Rehder Apr 28, 1917
Gladys Viola Rehder Dec 21, 1918
J.R. Rehder Dec 2, 1922
Eugene Rehder Mar 22, 1928
Jesse Lee Fair: Jan 18, 1898
Ira Adam Fair: May 15, 1900
Effie May Fair: Dec 28, 1904
Married: William L. Bowen Dec 25, 1921
Mattie Viola Fair: Dec 14, 1908
Married: Johnie Barker Aug 12, 1929
Children: Bonnie May Barker Sep 6, 1927
Dee Clement Fair: Dec 14, 1908

In the records at the National Archives for the 1900 Census in Polk Township, Montgomery Co AR, I have found James A Fair and Lillis Nona Thompson Fair and their children Katie Maud, Anna Nora, Molly Myrtle, Jesse Lee, and Ira Adam. In the 1900 census, very close by, is a George W. Thompson (1849) and his wife Elizabeth (1846) and their son George A (1885). In the 1900 census in Smith Township, Montgomery Co AR., I found Fred and Malinda Rehder and their children John and Martha C Rehder. I am guessing this is the John Rehder that married Mollie Mrytle Fair on March 5, 1916.

The 1920 census Montgomery AR Polk Township
Supervisor's District #4, Enumeration District # 87
Sheet # 16A beginning on line 31 lists Lillis N Fair as widowed and head of household of her children Ira, May (Effie), Mattie, and Dee. Also in the household are Elizabeth Thompson (age 73) and a nephew named Lemmie Allen or Allen Lemmie (age 14) living on Oden & Mt Ida Road. On the same page Jess Fair (age 22) and his wife Iona (age 20) is listed a head of household and farmer as occupation.

I do not know where any of the descendants on my Grandmother's side of the family are living today. I have several pictures of my grandmother and her family when she was a young girl 16 or 17 years of age living in the Mena Arkansas area near Pencil Bluff and Oden AR.

Names signed in memorial book at Effie May Sheppy's
funeral in Tulsa Ok 1983. (I think most of these people are the children and grandchildren of Jesse and Iona Fair and Mattie and vJohnie Barker, but Im not positive.) I did not see Bonnie Barker's name but I know she was there also. Carmelita Ross (I think she was separated at the time from her husband). Many are relatives but I do not know where they live.

In addition to the funeral guest book and bible ledger, I have listed some of the names noted on the backs of photographs that are connected with the Thompson/ Fair Descendants: Ola Mae, Lemie Thompson, Elva , Ira, Beulah at Mena park (Arkansas); William, "Willie," Cora, and Zea (Looks like he might be blind
and plays the Sax).
I would appreciate any information you might have on the Thompson / Fair family. Thank you
