I am searching for info on Dillard L. COOPER and his wife and her family. Dillard L. COOPER was married to Parthenia (Partheny) ANDERS Holmun (I think Holmun was another husband). Dillard L. COOPER, b July 8, 1839 (I do not know where) and died April 9, 1883. Dillard and Parthenia lived in Brinkley where on July 21, 1878 my great-grandmother was born--Clara Dillard COOPER-- as she was known. She had a half sister called Annie (HOLMUN?, but I do not know where Annie was born. Dillard L. COOPER was said by my family to have died while fighting a wildfire that was burning his rail fence apparently in Brinkley. Dillard's wife, Parthenia was named after her mother. Her parents were: Michael ANDERS, b 1798 married to Parthenia, b 1806. Family lore is that the parents, Michael and Parthenia. came from Georgia to Brinkley, Monroe Country, Arkansas by wagon train, perhaps in early to mid 1800s. (perhaps 1833) I do not have any info as to their parents or places of birth. However, I do have a very old, tattered family bible (dated in pencil on back flypage, April 24, 1886) with a torn page of lined notebook paper that reads (in script with blue ink handwriting) "D.L.COOPER, his book" with some names, apparently of Michael's and Parthenia's children--however I'm told it was Parthenia's bible. D. L.COOPER, my gggrandfather, may have made the notes on notebook paper--and some more notes are in pencil by his daughter I think, my ggrandmother, Clara. --The handwritten records, torn in places, read: Michael S. ANDERS, born April 9, 1798; Partheny ANDERS, April 15, 1806; Sarahann Rebecca ANDERS, Oct. 17, 1824; Elijah Michael ANDERS, Sept. 11, 1828; Julia Ann ANDERS, Feb. 25, 1830; _?_ Jackson ANDERS, Feb. 7, 1832; William ANDERS, Aug 2, 1833; Partheny ANDERS, (the one married to Dillard COOPER later) Oct. 4, 1835; Mary Catharine ANDERS, April 12, 1837; Charles ?Lalhuse? ANDERS, May 12, 1839; Cornelius ANDERS, Jan. 18, 1842; Henriethie(?) Elisabeth ANDERS, ???? 1844; perhaps another listing torn off--and on the reverse side, it continues: Julianne Caldomer HOUSE, born Nov. 4, 1853 --was House another Husband of Partheny??; Elijah M. Anders, died Jan. 19, 1829; Andrew Anders (maybe the __Jackson Anders) died June 26, 1832; Sarahann R. Anders died Aug. Aug. 11, 1835; John C. Anders died May 13, 184_?_; Juliann Muns died Nov. 1, 1861; Edward Holmun died Mar. 18, 1873 (this must have been the daughter Partheney's husband before D.L. Cooper) In pencil, in what I think is my ggrandmother Clara's hand: Clara D. Cooper was bornd July 21, 1878. Clara D. Cooper and W. D. McLain was married April the 27, 1898. Audrey Mclain was born January the 1, 1900. Many of Michael and Parthenia's children were born after the date that I think they had arrived in Brinkley by wagon train from Georgia. And D.L.Cooper and Parthenia (Partheny)Holmun were married August 18, 1876. see below. Also noted on pages of the bible are: D.L. cooper, b June 8, 1838 and names of some of Clara and W.D.'s children. Another note says: D.L. Cooper and Partheaney Holmun, married Aug. 18, 1876. (Apparently Partheney's previous husband was named Holmun.).D. L. Cooper died April 9, 1884. Clara Dillard Cooper(b 1878 Brinkley, Ark, d 1979 in McNeil/Magnolia, Ark. After Dillard Cooper's death, to survive without a husband, Partheny Cooper became a househelper to William David McLain (may have lived at the time in Brinkley)--he was a well-off sawmill owner, landowner and (later) Jacksonport (Ark) County Circuit Judge William David McLain --he had lost his wife Cordelia and needed help with his children by Cordelia. (Stained glass windows in Newport, Ark's old First Christian Church are dedicated to W.D.'s mother, Sarah Catherine (Agee) and a son who died.) Clara Cooper, my great-grandmother, married William David McLain (perhaps in Brinkley, perhaps in Memphis) and became his second wife in 1898. An old news clipping item I have from a Feb. 24, 1899 Brinkley, Ark. newspaper reads "W.D. McClain (should be McLain) and wife of Memphis were registered at the Brinkley House this morning."--so Clara and Partheny may have been living for a short time in Memphis unless the paper was incorrect. I do know that W. D. and Clara made their home in Newport, Ark., and had a large family/ W. D. McLain and many of his and Clara's infant children are buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport. Clara lived until she was almost 101 years old and is buried in Little Rock, Ark. near a son.

Still looking, but we have a new email address as of June 2002, so please contact me about any information you may have on James C. DAVISON who died on June 30, 1897 in Phillips County. I have an obituary that lists descendants and church membership at Cumberland Presbyterian. This is the brick wall in my search. If you can help me find information on him, please contact me. Thanks!

She married William A KITTRELL, age 29, when she was 18, in Clay County Arkansas 11/21/1897. She had a sister Zorie(?sp) who lived in Kinnett Missouri. The children were Alma, Esther, George, Ruby Dec 8 /189-190?, and Wanda. The family lived for many years in Corning, then Cina moved to live in Clarendon, with Ruby. Her children were Doyan BRINKER, Donald BRINKER, and Glennon LONG, born in Platka AR. Glennon Sr married Dorthy DAUGHTRY, dau of Wm and Maude? whose mother was supposedly a HARPER. William was a jeweller in Walnut Ridge. The children of Glennon Sr were Beverly, Glennon Jr, and Andrew LONG.

After Barbaras death in 2001, he married Carole( Southard Ayres) of Lebanon Missouri, Myself. Glenn Jr and I live in Rolla MO. Glenn Sr lives in Clarendon, but remembers little more than the details given, some of which I have dug out from under the genealogy tree. I am looking for information about my grandfather. I believe his name was Wintfred or Wink KING. He had an aunt and uncle Bill and Ila KING who had a daughter they nicknamed Friday or Frighty. I believe he lived in Brinkley, and fathered my father May 5, 1937 to Maggie SISK who was 15 at the time. My dad may have been born in the Crawford SISK home. I was told he died in a logging accident on the Mississippi river, but I have my doubts.
