CUNNINGHAM, YOUNG posted by Young on Friday, August 13, 1999

I am searching for my husband's ancestors. Two of them were Nancy Agnes YOUNG, b. 9 July 1889 in Arkansas. She married Enoch Lawrence (aka Bud) CUNNINGHAM. The family has always thought that Nancy Agnes grew up in Monroe Co. or close to Pine Bluff. Enoch was born 30 July 1879 probably in Tennessee. I can find no record of their marriage or their ancestors. Nancy Agnes had a brother named George, and her father might have been Robert. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Janet Scott

DAULEY, DAWLEY, SARGENT posted by Robin Niell on Monday, August 23, 1999

Looking for information on SARGENT and DAULEY (DAWLEY) families who appear on the Monroe County Census in 1850. Phoebe (Phebee)SARGENT was living with her children at that time. I am looking for information on the identity of her husband. Also, James S. DAULEY and his brother Hiram were living next door. One of Phoebe's daughters, Catherine later married Hiram DAULEY in Independence Co. And it is believed another daughter married James DAULEY while they were in Monroe County, but cannot find proof of this. Both families were in Independence County in 1860. It also appears that James DAULEY may have been married before, because there is a 1-year-old girl named Nancy A. living with him in the 1850 census and there was a 4-month-old girl named Eliza DAULEY living next door with a family by the name of Smith. According to the census information, James DAULEY was a physician. Any information on either of these families would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking any information concerning James ORMAN, Sr., his ancestors or descendants. James ORMAN, Sr. was born about 1814 in North Carolina (possibly Montgomery County) and moved with his parents to Posey County, IN by 1830. He married Susanna (sometimes called "Susan") ANDERSON in Posey County in 1834. Susanna was also a native of North Carolina. James and Susanna ANDERSON moved to Phillips County, Arkansas about 1858. In the 1860 Census, they are living in Marion Township with children William, James, John, George, and Caroline ORMAN. Also living with James and Susanna was a married daughter, Sarah (ORMAN) MORRIS, her husband Francis Marion MORRIS, and their son William MORRIS. Family tradition is that James ORMAN, Sr. was incarcerated by the Union Army during the Civil War. John ORMAN, George ORMAN, and Sarah (ORMAN) MORRIS (with two children) return to Posey County, Indiana before 1870.
