ROC ROE

(Contributed by Jo Claire English)

Roc Roe was an early White River boat landing located about seven miles below Clarendon, near the mouth ofRoc Roe Bayou. By 1838 it was the landing point for a combination transportation line, stage and steamer, which operated between Little Rock and the mouth of White River. Roc Roe remained a ferry crossing until the White River Highway Bridge was completed at Clarendon in 1931.
