Mrs Essie Tibbit

Mrs Essie J Tibbit, 64, of 312 East 37th Street, Texarkana, Ark, died Friday evening in a local hospital after a short illness.

Services will be at 2 pm Monday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with Steve McIntosh and Charlie Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Shilo [sic] Cemetery.

Mrs Tibbit was born Jan 21, 1908, in Emerson, Ark. She had lived in Texarkana most of her life and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, A J Tibbit of Texarkana; a son, Wayne Tibbit of Texarkana; a daughter, Imogene McAuley of Savannah, Ga; four grandchildren; a brother, Morrell Jones of Texarkana; and two sisters, Mrs J H McCoy of Avinger, Tex, and Mrs E A Bellieu of Texarkana.

Pallbearers will be Rosco Gammon, Walter Jones, Lester Miller, Jim Reese, Edwain Tyrone, and Ozro Addington.
Artimus J Tibbit
1899-1986

Artimus J "Art" Tibbit, 86, of Texarkana, Ark, died Monday in a local hospital after a short illness.

Services will be 10 am Wednesday ar Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Boyce Green officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Tibbit was born Oct 15, 1899, at Yellow Creek, La. He was a retired employee of Brown-Miller Pickle Co and a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Short Tibbit of Texarkana; one sone, Wayne Tibbit of Texarkana; one daughter, Imogene McAuley of Texarkana; two stepsons, Harold Short and Robert Short, both of Texarkana; three stepdaughters, Kathryn Harrison of Houston, Texas, Linda Sebesta of Plano, Texas, and Sue Bosler of Linden, Texas; one brother, Roy Tibbitt of Texarkana; one sister, Freda Steel of Texarkana; four grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at 3404 Walnut St.

Darlene K. Riley, 1918-2004

Funeral services for Darlene K. Riley of Emory will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Wolfe and Rev. Joe Strebeck officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Paul Molidor, Odie Wayne Taylor, A.B. Gowin, Justin Wolfe, Charlie Paris, and Roy Weatherford.

Mrs. Riley passed away Friday, July 2, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Texarkana, Ark., Jan. 18, 1918, to William N. and Faye Butler Kennedy. She married Roy H. Davidson Nov. 16, 1961, in Los Angeles County, Calif. She was a retired attorney, and a member of Texas Bar Association, past judge of Wood County, and a member of Ladies Helping Hands at Shady Grove Baptist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by her husband, Roy B. Davidson; sons, Joseph L. Riley and wife Charleen of Irvine, Calif., Stephen A. Riley and wife Jeannie of Huntington, W. Va; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
