I have been meaning to send this picture forever. But couldn't find it in the jumble of the ol' picture box and then would forget it. I have tried to get in touch with several Pannell researchers to no avail. My emails bounce back. I am sending a picture of Kirby Pannell and his grandfather George Marshack Pannell. Was probably taken by (his and mine) grandpa Stonecipher (William Newton).
His father was Wylie Virgil Pannell and his mother Merta Stonecipher. The spelling of her name is Merta. I don't have any other information on the Pannells but I can remember my Mama telling me who was in the picture and she surmised it was so Grandpa would have a picture of him. Kirby was raised by his Pannell grandparents. And I think that was because Grandpa Stonecipher was raising a second family at the time, and not because he didn't want him.
I think Merta died in 1909 so this picture had to be taken a few years after that. Well anyway hope some Pannell researcher's will enjoy this.
