If you would like to have a family photo posted to the Marion Co web site please follow the instructions below - they will save both of us a lot of time and effort.

Only photos that include information on how the photo (or people in the photo) are connected with Marion Co will be posted.

Please scan your photo at no less than 300 dpi and save it as a jpg

If you are scanning a newspaper photo or a photo from a book scan at 400+ dpi. To remove the "grainy" effect of these types of photos requires a high resolution.

Send me the photo as an attachment to your email (my address is below). Please send one photo per email. That way I won't get confused as to what information goes with which photo.

In the body of your email please include, in order, the names of the people in the pictures so I know who is who. (i.e. front row left to right). If you do not know who the people (or a person) are please say so and give me as much information as possible about where the photo came from, etc.

Also include the approx. date of the picture if known or at least a range of time and location of where they lived at the time the picture was taken. These things will help others possibly connect to your families. Include in your e-mail some information on the person or people or family in the photo. For example - the place of birth, death, burial, marriage, parents, etc. Keep in mind I will not post a photo that doesn't include some reference to Marion Co.

If you have a picture of a place in Marion Co you'd like to share send it to me with as much information as you have.

Don't forget to give me your name in the mail so I can list it as the submitter of the photo. I will use the email address from your email. If you want a different address posted on the photo page (for example a yahoo or hot mail, etc. address be sure to include it).

If you have a photo you know is connected to Marion Co of an unknown person or group send it along with as much information as you have. There have been many instances where unknown acestors have been identified.

We do not have unlimited space on the web server so please pick your best photo of your ancestor and send it. We cannot handle several photos of the same person.
