MEET
The Doc A.B. Davis Family

Submitted by: Glenn Deaton (glenn.deaton@gmail.com )

Dividing Line

This photo was sent to me by my cousin, Delbert Garner.
Back row standing left to right; Paul R. “P.R.” Davis, Nola Mae (Davis) Garner, Della (Davis) Johnson.
Front row sitting left to right; James Bradford “J.B.” Davis, Alexander Blockwell “Doc A.B.” Davis, Duncan Eve Davis, Sofronia Paralee (Magness) Davis.
Everyone pictured was born in Marion County, except the father, A.B. Davis, who arrived in Marion County between 1860-1870 and married Sofronia on February 24, 1878 in Marion County.
The baby in the picture is my great grandfather, Duncan Eve Davis, and he was born February 24, 1894, and his mother, Sofronia, died in Powell, September 20, 1896, so the picture was taken probably late 1894 early 1895 in or around Powell, Arkansas. The family moved to Texas, then to Oklahoma after Sofronia passed.
Sofronia was the daughter of Henry Teaff Magness and Sarah Ann Milum, Alexander was the son of Pleasant Rhodes “P.R.” Davis and Elizabeth Mclean.
(The family is referenced in Marion County Families 1811-1900.)
