Jimmy's widow, Marybeth CRAIG, sent me his obituary and a booklet containing the story of his life from the time he left Yellville as a child and hitchhiked t the School of the Ozarks where he received his education, spent 4 years in the Army and made quite a success of his life in the business world, as well as raising (along with Marybeth) their two children. I had read about Jimmy's passing in the Echo, but was glad t get this information and have passed it on to a friend and former neighbor of his, Ernest JONES, who lived on Fallen Ash Road when Jimmy lived there as a kid. The QUINN's residence is located on Marion County Road 8094. Upon arrival, QUINN told investigators that he awoke and smelled smoke in the house and asked his wife, Margaret, to get her sister out of the upstairs area of the house. QUINN attempted to put the fire out with a water hose, but was not successful. QUINN went to a neighbor's house at approximately 3:50 a.m. and called 911 for assistance. When he returned to his residence, it was engulfed in flames and the structure was collapsing. The residence was a two-story log home with a full basement underneath. After the structure cooled down, recovery workers located and removed the bodies of Margaret QUINN, 63, and her sister, Mary PAYTON, 67, from opposite ends of the home. PAYTON was visiting from Roseland, New Jersey. Both bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime lab in Little Rock for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Members of the Summit, Lakeway and Pine Mountain Rural Fire Departments performed Firefighting and recovery efforts. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and is under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Marion County Sheriff Carl MCBEE said, "I would like to thank Sheriff CHAPLAIN, Jim RALEY, all of the citizens of Marion County and the Ladies Auxiliary of the fire departments who provided words of comfort to the family and nourished the firefighters during the recovery efforts." ------- NAME: Mountaineer Echo Newspaper on SURNAMES: MCBEE, SANDREN DATE: Sunday, July 28, 2002 QRYTEXT:The Mountaineer Echo Week of August 1, 2002 issue: Paul B. SANDREN, 59, of Cabool, Missouri is missing in Bull Shaols Lake and presumed drowned. SANDREN was swimming and boating with his family in the lake at noon on Sunday, July 28 at Hollingsworth Cove when he disappeared. Hollingsworth Cove is located on the lake approximately three-quarters of a mile south of the Missouri border. When family members left the area to notify authorities shortly after noon, they did not mark the area where SANDREN went under. Water levels in this area of the lake are between 77 and 120 feet. Recovery efforts resumed on Monday with assistance from dive teams from the Baxter and Marion County Sheriff's Departments. Assisting in the search were the Missouri Water Patrol, US Army Corps of Engineers, Arkansas Game and Fish Officers and divers and staff from the Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. Cadaver dogs from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in Pine Bluff also assisted in the recovery efforts. According to Marion County Sheriff Carl MCBEE, recovery efforts could be hampered due to the depth of the water and the possibility of bad weather expected in the area. ------- NAME: Christine (Gibson) Reager EMAIL:chrisy@wmni.net URL:My Tree SURNAMES: BEATTIE, BURRUSS, CARTER, CLARK, DEWEY, GIBSON, RAMIREZ, REAGER DATE: Wednesday, April 26, 2000 QRYTEXT:Obituary: GIBSON: Juantia Hope (BURRUSS)GIBSON passed peacefull at home in Fremont,Calif. at the age of 77, with her family by her bedside on April 26, 2000 after a long illness, where she lived for 40 years.
