They were both born in Clay County, Kentucky and came to the Spoke Plant
area in the late 1880's. (my grandparents)

He was the son of
Henry and Catherine Gillian Holland. She was the daughter of Frank and Dolly
Fowler Clark.

He was the son of Thomas Newman and Kay

He was the first postmaster at
Spoke Plant.
Newell McKinley Stepp
He was the son of James Jonathon and Rebecca Merrill Stepp. He lived in
the Spoke Plant community.
Zula Jane Acord Stepp ( wife of Newell McKinley)

They were both born in Henderson County, North Carolina and came to Madison
County in 1893. (my grandparents)

, my dad and mom.
Dad was postmaster at Spoke Plant from Oct. 7, 1926 until the post office was
discontinued in 1954. He also ran the store all those years. (The post
office was established in 1915. The first postmaster was Robert D. Ritchie, and
the second was Frank. C. Clark).
