History of the Weatherby Name
Submitted by: Susan Fahnstrom

The History of the Weatherbys begins in England, the Weatherby family name originated in the county of Norfolk, located in East Anglia, England.

The Weatherby family traces their Ancestral roots back to the Norman origin, the Normans were from Normandy in Northern France, just across the North Sea from England. The Normans were orignally called the Norsemen (Vikings) who came from Norway, Viking means raiders or plonderers, they sailed to England and France, raided, then settled in
both countries and married the woman there.
