Alexander Ritchie, the father and James Ritchie his son, immigrated to the US, some of the other sons immigrated also, but we do not know which ones, we know that a brother, John Ritchie did come to the US also, when James Ritchie died in 1818 crossing Carrs Creek, Mary Keith (the mother) went back to Virginia and her son John went with her.

Alexander Ritchie the father of James & John died in Cumberland County, NC in 1787. James Ritchie is found in Buncombe County, NC, on the 1800 Census, with his wife Mary Keith and children, they later moved to Russell Co, Virgina and then they moved to Perry County, Kentucky, where James drown in 1818 crossing Carrs Creek, a part of the Troublesome river area and he was buried there at Carrs Creek.
