Mary Brehm whose grandmother was SARAH ELIZABETH HARRIS a sister of
JOHN HENRY HARRIS, said that she recently found an old letter written in
1979 from Irene Fipps, whose grandmother was MARTHA ANN (HARRIS) COLEMAN
the other sister of JOHN HENRY HARRIS, he said that Irene's father was
NELSON COLEMAN the oldest son of MARTHA ANN  & ABRAHAM (ABE) COLEMAN.
NELSON lived to be 85 yrs old, he died in 1974, and he told Irene that
JOHN N HARRIS, his grandfather was a shoe cobbler, Nelson said that he
remembers his grandfather going out and killing small game and tanning
their hides for leather to make into shoe laces, Irene wrote that her
Dad had said that his grandfather JOHN was of English ancestry and his
grandmother Mahala Upton was of Dutch ancestry. Irene has since passed
away,a few years ago, John's ancestry was English and I found out that
Mahala's family the Upton's were originally from London, England, but of
course there could be some Dutch somewhere else in the lineage.
