Idaho Statesman, June 25, 1989.Ivan Monroe Harris, Sr, 83, of Boise, died thursday, June 22, 1989 at his home of natural causes, Gravesie services will be held at 2pm, Monday, June 26, at Morris Hill Cemetery, Pastor Roy Wilson will officiate. Arrangements are under the directions of Summers Funeral home, Boise, a reception will be held in the fellowship room ofthe Eldorado Church of Christ, following services.
Ivan retired co-owner of Harris Brothers Lumber Co was born march 10, 1906 at Pettigrew, Arkansas, he was married to Golda Herriman on Dec 25, 1925 and moved to Idaho in 1934, he was co - owner of Harris Brothers Lumber co, until his retirement in 1960.
Ivan was a member of the Church of Christ, where he was an elder for many years, he was very active in his services to the Lord and in teaching others about God. Thorough the years, Ivan & Golda shared their home with many friends and needy people.Survivors include his wife, Golda of Boise, a son Ivan Jr, a daughter, Thelma Lee of Boise, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, two brothers, Dallas Harris of Boise and Gordon Harris i Washington and three sisters, Fern BUrton, Gladys Kafelstrom of Boise and Audrey Jean Fahnstrom of Bellevue, Washington. He was preceded in death by a son, Arlis Edward, a grandaughter Diane Marie and a great
grandson, Adam. Friends may call today from 9 am to 8 pm at Summers funeral home in Boise.
