Audrey Jean Fahnstrom, nee Harris, 68 of Puyallup, Washington, formerly of Boise, Idaho, died June 7, 1995, following a short illness. Jean was born Jan 22, 1927, in Pettigrew, Arkansas, a daughter of John Henry Harris and Martha Jane (Ritchie) Harris. Jean moved to Idaho at the age of 10 years old, she attended schools in Meridian, Idaho.
During world War II, she moved to San Fernando, CA, and worked at the United States Flare Corporation. During that time Jean met and married Carl Wlliam Fahnstrom on Nov 26, 1944. After the war ended Jean and Bill moved to Idaho where he worked for the Harris Brothers Lumber Company and Jean was a homemaker and mother.
They had five children, 2 sons, Gordon Paul Fahnstrom of Tacoma, Wa,, David Carl Fahnstrom of Redmond, Wa, 3 daughters, Martha Jean Jones of Bellevue, Wa, Sarah Ann Smith of Nooksack, Wa, Mary Vanessa Ortiz of Sumner, Wa, After Jean's family were grown up , she worked at St Alphonus Hospital Regional Medical Center, Boise, Idaho, and later at Bannock Memorial Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho until she moved to the Seattle area.
Jean was a compassionate and tender person who enjoyed her healthy care work very much. Her greatest and proudest accomplishment was rearing 5 wonderful children, all who are upstanding citizens and successful in their endeavours in the Western Washington area.
Jean is survived by her 5 children and 12 grandchildren, (6 grandsons and 6 grandaughters) Daryn Carl Fahnstrom, Puyallup, Wa, Steven Paul Fahnstrom, Pullyaup, Wa, Erica Van Guilder, Tacoma, Wa, Derek Jones, Kirkland, Wa, Amanda Fahnstrom, Bellevue, Wa, Jonas Fahnstrom, Redmond, WA, Jessica, Melissa, Vanessa Smith all of Nooksack, Wa, Cory & Andrew Zanders of Sumner, Wa, Jean has 5 great Grandchildren: Kayleigh Van Guilder, Kieran Fahnstrom, Kylee Fahnstrom, Drew & Emily Strong, 2 sisters Johnnie Fern Burton, Gladys Kafvelstrom, both of Boise, Idaho, 2 brothers, Gordon Harris of Meridian, Idaho, Dallas Harris of Boise, Idaho and numerous neices and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Guy Ritchie Harris and Ivan Monroe Harris, Boise, Idaho, 3 sisters, Ruth Ann Perkins, Barnes, Arkansas, Claudia Chloe Belcher of Boise, Ruby Jewell Paul of Seattle, Wa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday June 12, at the Lakeview Church Of Christ, 1709, S 112th St, Tacoma, Wa 98444. Jean leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends who love her very much, she will be missed very much, but her family are consoled knowing that she is with the Lord.
