WATSON. A Watson family was here from before 1836 to at least 1850. Known family members are Sarah Jane Watson, b 1 Jun 1836 in AR, and William H. Watson, b 7 Jun 1840 in Bowie Co., TX. On 17 Oct 1850, Jane married William Marion SHEPARD in Hempstead Co. He died soon after and she married his brother Franklin Shepard. William H. "Bud" Watson was in Bastrop Co. TX in 1860 (with his presumed uncle) as follows: John T. Watson, 54, Farmer, $500, $1530, KY; Elizabeth K. Watson 14, AR; Hulda A. Watson 15, AR; W. H. Watson, 20 TX; Mary W. Watson 10, AR; Eliza A. Watson 11, TX; next door: Elisum Stone, 60. In 1880/1900 both Bud and Jane say their father was b in KY and mother in Indiana. There appears to be a guardianship arrangement with some of those children and a STONE, either Elisum or F.A. This record may be in Hempstead Co. In 1870, Bud named a son John Talkington Watson, which was said to be a "family" name. Eliza Ann Watson m. James C. SHARP, 17 Oct 1872, Bastrop Co., TX; Elizabeth K. Watson m. W. F. YATES, Bastrop Co., TX 15 Jul 1869. Would love to find parents of Bud and Sarah Jane, and other siblings.

Looking for information on Silas Monroe HAMILTON (also perhaps known as "Rhoel" Hamilton) of near Hope (Hempstead County), Arkansas, father of Jesse Martin Hamilton (one of 7 sons & 4 daughters). Jesse Martin moved to Oklahoma territory in about 1892 with his wife Mamie (nee Monagan) and my father Amby A., born in 1889. I need any information available on Silas Monroe Hamilton, his place of origin and date of birth, his parents, when he went to Arkansas, his Civil War history if any, where his ancestors were from, and other facts or "theory". Other sons of Silas Hamilton were: John, Hiram, Fayette, Wilce or Willis, Albert, Sanford; daughters included Amanda. We have a photograph from 1888 showing 6 sons and father Silas. We also need any information on Silas' wife and her ancestors. They were farmers on a small acreage near Hope, Ark., too little land to allow the sons to take up farming, and the children had to leave as they matured. We don't know his burial place or when he died. Anything would be helpful and much appreciated. Also photos. Thanks.

Searching for info on Frank HILL, found him on the 1920 census of Hempstead Co, Redland Twp. Ark. Frank was living with his brother Henry HILL and family. Frank HILL shows age 29 and married. I have that he married Dora GILBERT, RITCHIE, EVANS, OEHLER 10 Jun 1918 Nettleton, Craighead Co. Ark. Supposedly she died in the flu epidemic the winter of 1918. I have not been able to find anything on Dora her death or if she just left him. Why on the 1920 census did he say he was married if his wife died???? Does anyone have any answers for me, or working on this family?
