Looking for information on William Randolph BOYD and Iva MEGGS who were married and
lived in McCaskill, AR. They had three daughters, Alene, Winona and Louise. Winona is my
daughter's grandmother. Winona was born 5/21/1922. William Randolph's birthdate and place are
unknown. His father, Joseph William Boyd b. 2/14/1856 in Peach Orchard Gap, AR d.
2/12/1917 in McCaskill. His mother was Margaret Inez FOX b. 8/1866 place unknown, d.
2/23/1958 in McCaskill. Any information greatly appreciated.

COLE, Allen Jones: Are newspaper obituaries available for Hempstead County for 1893. My
great-grandfather, Allen Jones Cole, died there in 1893. He is buried in the Beard's Chapel
Cemetery. If there are no newspapers available, do you know of other sources that might give me

Governor WHITE and Clarisse White lived in Hope, Arkansas in Hempstead County. They later
moved to Albion, Michigan in the 1960s. They had ten children Joe White, Henry White, Sallie
White, Doris White, Almetria White, Elijah White, Grace White, Shirley White, Red White, Celia
White. The children went to school in Hempstead County. They were all born in the 1930s and
1940s. Clarisse White was mixed Cheorkee indian. Her relatives were supposed from Texas.
Governor White had 20 something brothers. Are there any relatives out there?

Looking for a cemetery inscription or other information about the death of Mrs. William B.
PARKER, who died in Dallas County in 1848. She was born in Georgia, but I do not know her
maiden name or her birthdate. Her husband was born in 1794, also in Georgia, and was
enumerated in the 1850 Dallas County census with one son, William J. Parker, born in 1838.
Another son is my G-G-GF, John M. Parker, who was enumerated in the 1850 Hot Spring
County census with his first three children and perhaps another brother, Richard F. Parker, born in
1833. The John M. Parker family removed to Columbia County in 1855 and to Hempstead in
1881. Thanks for any help.

I would apprciate any information on John SPARKS. He lived in Hempstead Co., Ar. in 1860, in
the township of Ozan. He married Mary TIMS. I do not no where or when. The only child that
I know of was my ggrandmother, Laura SPARKS KING. She was born on 22 Feb.,1870. Not

He was born Feb. 10, 1848. He fought for the confederacy. He had at least one brother. He is my
ggfather. He married Rebekah Matilda COX at Fayetteville, they had 8 children, Walter, Claud,
Clint and Jeff Scott, May Scott RAY, all of Roff Okla., Lula Scott HAYNES of Brownsville,

Researching Rucker and Sarah TANNER living in Hempstead Co. AR in 1830. Rucker
apparently died April 13, 1830 in Hempstead Co. AR. His widow, Sarah (maiden name
unknown) was born abt 1800 in VA. She produced his last will in Hempstead County Court.
They had at least 3 children: Rucker (Jr.) born 1825 in AR, Jessy born 1828 in AR, and Silas.
Rucker (Jr.) married Martha A. ANDERSON born 1835 in AR. The family migrated to Texas by

Looking for anyone who might be researching Arthur W SIMMONS who was in Columbia
County as early as 1830's. He married Eliza ALEXANDER RAMSEY in 1837. He was a circuit
preacher with the Methodist Church. He later moved to Jefferson County and then died in Cass
County, Texas. Also, looking for anyone who might be researching Charles Wesley Vaughn who
married Arthur Washington Simmons' daughter, Mary T. Simmons in 1860. They were on the
1860 census in Calhoun Township. My grandfather John Wesley Vaughn was born in Oct 1860
and Charles went into the CSA in 1861. He fought with the CSA for a couple of years and
deserted and enlisted with the Union Army in 1864 remaining there and was discharged in Jun
1865 in Duvalls Bluff, Arkansas. We have no information on his since. Mary Tennessee Vaughn
then married John Wesley TURNER and moved to Arkansas County where she died and is buried

born 27 January 1832, Mississippi; died 26 April 1861, Hempstead County, Arkansas. Her father,
Wiley McElroy, is buried in the Coulter Cemetery. I also need the burial locations of my
great-great grandparents, Hewitt BURT (1791- 1883, Arkansas); and Mary 'Polly' BAIRD Burt

EDWARDS, James Garrard, son of John and Mary (GARRARD) Edwards, arrived in Hempstead
County from Franklin Co, AL circa 1825 with his second wife, Mary Ann Norwood, and several

I am seeking any info on the family of my gggg grandfather Benjamin CLARK b. January 1758 in
Dobbs Co., NC. He m. abt 1782 to Mary McCLENDON. Benjamin served in the Revolutionary
War. Nine known children were Gilbert, John, Benjamin, Jr., David, Penelope, James, Jane,
Sarah, and Mary. The family moved to Hempstead Co. abt 1817 from TN. Benjamin Clark is
said to have been the first coroner of the county from 1819-1823. The family had a child
kidnapped and later returned. Benjamin and his son Gilbert were both Methodist ministers.
Benjamin and his sons Gilbert and James moved on to TX. and were responsible for the founding
of Clarksville, TX. Benjamin d. February 1838 in Red River Co., TX. Any help would be greatly

I am seeking any info on the family of Luke and Rebecca DREW WARD. Rebecca Drew was b.
abt 1767 in Maryland. The couple m. 15 Nov. 1795. They lived in Hempstead and Sevier
Counties. Seven known children were Mary Ann, Nancy, Elizabeth, Clarissa, Rebecca, Jackson
L., and Susanna. Luke Ward d. before July 1824 when his estate was placed under his son-in-law
Gilbert CLARK'S administration. Rebecca remarried twice, first to Jesse Ward and in later life to
Middleton ELLIOTT. She was buried at Ben Lomand, AR. Any help would be greatly
