Samuel H BLACK from Hempstead Co. Would like to know if there is anyone out there that has any information at all on this person. I hope there is someone that can tell me who his family was and where he came from other than Hempstead Co. Samuel BLACK is shown in Original Land Purchasers Southwest Arkansas Book 1 page 171. Township 12 South Range 25 West with a date of purchase on his property as 1867. I do not have the full book or should I say page 171 so I do not know what it has in it other than what I just gave. I think what I have must be like an index. Any help would be appreciated on this person as his son Henry was at one time married to my ggrandmother. Thanks

Researching the name of DUNN. Grandparents W.J. Dunn who was married to Sally ECHOLS. Just starting to research this line who supposedly lived in Hope ,AR & some Dunn's from Little Rock, AR. Strictly going by my Dad's memory on this one with the exception, I have the obits when W.J Dunn & Sally Echols died, they were taken back to Hope AR for burial. They moved to Sherman, TX around 1882? & had a son named Harry Augustus Dunn born 12-21-1883 in Sherman. This Harry A. Dunn was buried in Sherman. I am researching William M. BUCKLEY and family. He was born abt 1827 in Tennessee and married Nancy A. KELLY (KELLEY) b. 1835. They moved to Arkansas abt. 1855. After moving initially to Hempstead County in 1855, the family settled in Pike County.William served in Civil War as a Confederate soldier. He died in Pike County (Murfreesboro) on March 4, 1900. I am looking for information on James W. HAWKINS and his family. He was a Quarter Indian and adopted but I am not sure how old he was when he was adopted. He married Estalla "Stella" (WHITE) Hawkins and they had several children. One of their daughters Josie Ann (Hawkins) Byrd was born in Bennett Arkansas November 11, 1890 and died December 23, 1969 she was my Grandmother. PHILLIPS, approx 1886-88 Joseph W. Phillips relocated to Ark. Deed dated May of 1888 was sent to Ky. from Hempstead Ark. He may have remarried, family rumors are that he had two more sons in Ark.
