Looking for information on a William I. and Cassie NORRIS. I know they lived in Hope Arkansas in 1902 when my grandfather John Neal Norris was born. Cassie died Jan 11, 1922 and is buried in the Wooten Springs Cemetery, which I believe is in Bowie County Texas. My mother said that she believed that William died in 1955 or 1956, but could not remember for sure. Nor did she remember where he was buried. John Neal died in 1978 in San Antonio Texas. He is buried in the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. Hoping to find out if someone does know where he is buried. Is he with Cassie in the Wooten Springs Cemetery? Does anyone know his parents names? Desperately Searching Robert

Artimisia HUBBARD and children, Joseph B. and Sarah J. migrated to Hempstead Co., AR in the latter part of 1840s. Possibly through Missouri. Artimisia GRANT married James M. Hubbard in Caswell Co., N. Carolina in January of 1838. James did not get to Arkansas with them. Artimisia Hubbard married Joseph McKILLIAN in 1864 in Hempstead Co., AR. Joseph had two children; Laura T. McKillian and Belvedorah McKillian. Sarah J. Hubbard married John SEARCY in Hempstead Co., Joseph B. Hubbard and possibly a brother, John M. Hubbard joined the Arkansas Confederacy in 1861. Does anyone have anything on any of these people? Are there Hubbard or McKillian families still in Hempstead Co., AR?

BARTON I am looking for any information on the ancestors of Barton twins, Ben (possibly Benjamin) and Bill (possibly William) born on 12-25-1883 in Emmitt, Arkansas to Nancy Elizabeth Lee Barton and Ben (possibly Benjamin) Barton. My grandfather, Ben Barton (one of the twins) had an uncle, Bill (possibly William) who owned a store of some sort in Hope. My great-grandfather, Ben Barton and his lineage is a complete mystery to the maternal side of my family. I would like his date of death and possibly the cemetary in and around Hope where he is buried. I have quite a bit of information on my great-grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Lee; but she remarried after the death of her husband so I am unable to find her date of death and cemetary records. I understand that public records of any kind prior to 1920 are hard to find in Arkansas so I would appreciate even the smallest bit of information that anyone might have regarding my search. My e-mail address is: countrygirl_cch@hotmail.com. Thanks so much.

According to the Petition of 1821 regarding the CHOCTAW treaty it mentions that there are five sections from which the petitioners come from. Sections 4 and 5 have something to do with the area near the Red River. Adenstone ROGERS and Alexander Rogers are listed as being in Section 2. How do I find out what part of AR Section 2 covered? Thanks. Eleanor

I am only beginning this search and there is very little to go on, although her second marriage af Margaret QUINN to Allen TATE appears to be Nov 17, 1844 in Hempstead County. It's her first husband and son that would be my relations. Husband is listed as Quinn and son William O. Quinn born 1842 in Tennessee. I have a photo of his grave in Wise County, Texas.
