I am trying to trace my family origin in Columbia, Oachita, Hempstead, Sevier and Howard Counties in Arkansas. I have established a website detailing the information I have so far and would greatly appreciate it if you could put a reference to it on your website for future "GRAY" decendents searching in the area. The core family is based on William and Modesta Rosaline (BELL) Gray who had relatives in your county with both the surnames "Bell" and "Gray". Several of the Gray and Bell families lived in Hempstead County during the 1880 to 1920's. I am searching for any information on Thomas Gray who was a pioneer settler in the Flat Lick area (North of Minden) in Claiborne County LA in the early 1820's. He was believed to be a Methodist "Circuit Rider" in the Arkansas Territory prior to statehood. Steve Gray, St. Louis, MO 63108 -- http://www.geocities.com/gray5153/

I am looking for the date of marriage or any information on the wife of Joseph BALLARD. Her name is Florence. I do not know when or where they married but I think it was from 1897 to 1910. I just found on the 1910 census Joseph Ballard was a widower. The wedding had to take place in an Arkansas County I'm not sure off. But they spent their adult life in the Bodcaw/Patmos area in Hempstead Co. The information out of the Hempstead Co. Arkansas Cem. Book 1 just gives her date of birth. They had a child born Sept. 1915 he also died the same day. I never thought about his birth or death certificate. Can anyone help me?? Sally
