I would like to know the name of the family members found in 1870 with BYES, Crawford in
Mine Creek 377. I believe there may be at least 2 families in one household, and if there is a
George, then it is my g-g-grandfather. Thank you for taking the time. cBRAGGS

I am searching for a PAGE family that apparently lived in Hempstead County around the turn of
the century. I have a photo in family records that shows a man ,woman, and a child with the
following written on the back: Mrs. M.A. Page Fay, AR S-of Fay-9 miles on RFD #8-1 mile s
of (unreadable)" We know our great grandmother, Lizzie Page, supposedly came from Huntsville,
AL 1882 and died in Lamar Co, TX 1917. As far as we can detect, her two brother's, Walter &
Sam also came to TX with her, unknown if they came alone of with uniditenfied parents. She has a
sister that did not come, Pattie Mae. Going through some old family photos, I just discovered the
turn of the century photo on a hard paper board type. Am hoping the photo will be a lead to
another family memeber who cam help us identify the family in the photo, thus maybe finding
Lizzie Page's parents. Thanks, Mary Magnuson -- haston@neto.com -- Lamar Co.TX

I am trying to find what county in Arkansas my ancestor, Thomas Larkin GAINES, lived during
the time frame 1870 to before 1900. He was born in Monroe County, GA 8 July 1832 but was in
the census for Dallas County, TX in 1860. In the 1900 Navarro County, TX census he is shown
with his family. His wife, Louisa, born December 1839, is shown to have been born in Arkansas.
The census lists 3 sons, R. L.; G. T.; J.A., all born in Arkansas in 1871, 1873, and 1875,
respectively. Does anyone have any information on this family. I live in Georgia and don't have
access to the Arkansas census index. Would very much appreciate any information. Cecil M.

I am searching for descendants of Ella WILKINS TORBERT and George Alfonzo Torbert who
are still living in Hempstead County - in or near Hope. I received information from a relative that
told me that there were still some distant cousins living in the area. I am researching my
grandmother's family from Uchee in Russell County, Alabama. One of her nine sisters, Ella
Wilkins, married George Alfonzo Torbert in Russell County, Alabama, on December 25, 1881.
Ella died September 12, 1905 and is buried in Old Hickory Cemetery in Conway County,
Arkansas. I am searching for any family members who can help me fill in huge gaps in the
family history. Thank you for any assistance. Sincerely, Hal W. McIntosh
