Following is a list of those men who had to register in Greene County on that historic date of June 5, 1917, when they were touched by the declaration of war with Germany . These men were made to register for military service under the Selection Conscription Act , and the first list was published in the Weekly SOLIPHONE on June 14, 1917 . All men who were required to register , named in the following list did not necessarily serve in the war , but many of these men are still living here , and their children and grandchildren , will find many family names among them.
