contractor and a U.S. Army veteran who served during WW2. He was
a Jaycee Boss of the year and a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge
310.
He was preceded
in death by his parents; Jasper William and Beulah Sadler
Ainsworth.
Survivors
include his wife, Shirley Ainsworth of the hime; a son ans
daughter-in-law, Lee and Janet Haines of Sikeston; a daughter and
son-in-law, Patrice and Bruce Taylor of Sikeston; a brother L.C.
Ainsworth of Oklahoma; a sister, Lucille Yesh of Paragould; and
four grandchildren, Brett Taylor, Logan Haines, Jennifer Haines,
and Luke Haines, all of Sikeston.
The funeral was
held Oct 9, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Dr. Jim Davis
and Monsignor William Stanton officiating. Burial was at Memorial
Park Cemetery in Sileston.

Piggott Community Hospital. She was born May 2, 1919, in Clay
County. She was a housewife and attended a non-denominational
Church.
She

sister, Geraldine Fahr.Survivors include a son, Jimmy Lee Moore
of Hillsboro, MO.; two stepsons, W.A. "Bill" Garrett of

Mississippi; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandchild.

funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Irby Funeral Home in
Rector with Wayne McGill, Genice McGill, and Ada Owens
officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery in
Rector.

Eugene 'Gene' Jordan, 82, of Harrisburg died Wednesday , Oct. 20,
1999, at his residence.
He
was born Nov 15, 1916, in the Bolivar Community near Harrisburg,
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Pleasant Valley
Methodist Church. He was a WW2 Army veteran and was awarded the
Bronze Star for heroic achievement during the Kwaja Lein Atoll
Operation in Alaska. He also fought in okinawa and the Marshall
Islands in the Phillipines.
He
was preceded in death in death by his parents, Lowell Sherman and
Letitia Mae "Tishie" Branum Jordan. Survivors include
his wife, Marshallene Prescott Jordan of the home; a son Barry
Keith Jordan of Weiner; three daughters, Sheila Jean Jordan
Kirksey of Paragould, Sandra Kay Jordan Albright Corman of Yuma,
Arizona, and Beth Ann Jordan Branscum of Jonesboro, a brother,
Lowell Leon Jordan of Sycamore, Ill;nthree sisters Sylvia Jane
Jordan Evans, of West Plains, MO., and Eva Marie Jordan Miller,
Mary Emma Jordan Peifer, both of Hassisburg; 10 grandchildren,

her parents, George and Minnie Jeffers; two sons,Doyle Parker
Washington and Jethro Harold Washington; two brothers, Delma
Jeffers and Elmo Jeffers; and four sisters, Lillie Washington,

Mrs. Betty Jean Stroud McCann, 69, of Paragould, died Wednesday
at Greene Acres Nursing Home. A native of Cardwell, Mo., she was
retired from General Motors and a member of the Seventh and
Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Herren of Paragould; and
two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 Friday morning in Memorial
Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of
Paragould, with Larry McFadden officiating. Visitation is this

Mrs. Mildred N. Upchurch, 74, of 803 Vance, Paragould, died
Tuesday at her residence. Born in Trumann, she was a homemaker
and of the Pentecostal belief. She was preceded in death by her

Hardy Feed Mill before starting what is now Tenison Nursery in
1975 in Hardy.
