Edgar Newton Sullivan


Edgar Newton Sullivan, 89, of 1101 E. Court St., died Monday, January 2, 1984 at his home. Mr. Sullivan was born February 17, 1894, Williamson County, TN. He was a Methodist, a World War I veteran and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mandy Alice Rainey Sullivan; a son, Walter Sullivan of Windfield, MO; a daughter, Mary Hobbs of Paragould; a brother, Hiram Sullivan of Flint, MI; a sister, Grace Coats of Punta Gorda, FL.; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel with Johnny Bower presiding. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Lester Horton

February 8, 1908 ~ July 11,1984

Lester Horton, 76, of Paragould, died Wednesday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born in Lorado and was a retired farmer who also was retired from the highway department. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glenna Horton of the home, a son, Jimmy R. Horton of Paragould, a daughter, Mrs. Norma Dortch of Paragould, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel with George Srum and Bill Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 6 this evening.

Finas Earl Fields

October 28, 1900 ~ July 12, 1984

 

Finas Earl Fields, 83, of Paragould, died Thursday morning at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born in Middleton, Tenn.

Survivors include one son, Bill R. Fields of Jonesboro, two daughters, Mrs. Peggy E. Conrad of Cardwell, Mo., and Mrs. Audrey June Phifer of Covington, La., a brother, Aubrey C. Fields of Kentucky, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Cole of Forrest City, nine grand children, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Jess H. McEntyre

March 9, 1900 ~ July 12,1984

 

Jess H. McEntyre, 84, of 223 East Hunt, Paragould, died Thursday. He was retired from the Valley Metal Products company of Plainwell, Mich., and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lilly Daly McEntyre of the home, three sons, Jess C. McEntyre of Paragould, Everett McEntyre of Allegan, Mich., and Jerry McEntyre of Martin, Mich., a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Jackson of Paragould, step-son, Jack Sauheaver of Jonesboro, 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:30 at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 5 this afternoon.
