Arminta Myrtle North

Arminta Myrtle (Thurston) North  was born in Bollinger County, Missouri, on March 28, 1886, died at her home near Beech Grove, AR., September 20, 1939, at 5:30 A.M., at the age of 53 years, 5 months, and 22 days.  She was a daughter of John W. and Cynthia Thurston.

On December 21, 1902, she was united in marriage with John T. North, at Lowndes, in Wayne County, MO.  To this union were born 13 children, eight boys and five girls.  One girl preceded her mother in death at the age of one year.

She is survived by her husband and the following children:  Mrs. Lotha Craig and Ivan North, of Flint, MI.,Elmo North of Benton, KY., Oran North, of St. Louis, Mrs. Zelma Jackson, Mrs. Hazel Pigue, Mrs. Hattie Horn, Luther, Buford, Robert, Marvin, and Ralph North, all of Beech Grove, AR.

Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Leo H. Thurston of St. Louis, Mrs. Orpha Shelton and Mrs. Della Eaker of Lutesville, MO., and Mrs. Lulu White,of Piedmont, MO.

Mrs. North united with the Christian Church at Gainesville, AR., and was baptized about 25 years ago, and lived a faithful, consistent Christian life until her master said to her, "Well done, good and faithful servant, come up higher."

She moved with her husband and family to Beech Grove community some 28 years ago, and had resided here since that time.
