A.C. Williams
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Fisher Williams of the home; two daughters, Lana
Gander and Annette Morrow, both of Beech Grove; three sisters, Mannae Alexander of St.
Louis, Glenna Rodgers of Mountain Home and Mae Rita Taylor of Paragould; and four
grandchildren. Graveside services have been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Dettry Cemetery near
Paragould, with L. R. Smith officiating. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of
arrangements. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The procession will
leave the funeral home at 1 p.m.
Marie Elizabeth Ward
Born in Trenton, Mich., she was a homemaker and a member of Marmaduke First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Wilton G. Ward of Paragould; four daughters, Glenda
Marie Ward of Paragould, Susie Rusaw of Canton Center, Mich., Donna Marie Sanger of
Everts, Mich., and Lillian Ward of Inkster, Mich.; one sister, Gail Smith of Taylor,
Mich.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery,
with the Rev. Larry Bulla officiating. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of
arrangements. Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Jerry Edward Cole
Survivors include his wife, Betty Cole of Paragould; a son, Christopher Martin Cole of
Paragould; one daughter, Betty Jean Rock of Paragould; three brothers, Frank Cole of
Arbyrd, Mo., H.N. Cole of Obion, Tenn., and Jack Cole of Marmaduke; one sister, Marie
Archibald of Paragould; and four grandchildren, Stephanie Rock, Johnathon Rock, Chanda

Philip Owen Tomlinson
Born in Paragould, he was employed by L.A. Darling Co. as a design engineer supervisor. Friday in New Liberty Cemetery at Marmaduke. The Rev. Kim Bridges will officiate. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Tomlinson of Marmaduke. Pallbearers will be Shawn Brewer, Wayne Roussell, Darrin Glenn, Al Miller, Ron Coy,

Melburn Grady Roberts
He was retired after 30 years of employment from Emerson Electric, where he worked as a supervisor of final assembly. He was a member of Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Laura Jean Roberts of Paragould; one son, Scott Roberts of
Glencoe; and one sister, Edmonia Williams of Paragould. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ,
with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens in

Wilma Marie Montgomery Faulkner
A lifelong resident of Paragould, she was a registered nurse and member of the Lake Street Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, David Faulkner of the home; a daughter, Kristin Montgomery of the home; her parents, Wayne and Lavada Montgomery Faulkner of Paragould; two brothers, Jerry Wayne Montgomery and Jimmy Don Montgomery, both of Paragould; and her maternal grandmother, Vestal Montgomery of Paragould. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Heath Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in the New Friendship Cemetery. Willadean Clayton
Born in Greene County, she was a former employee of Frolic Footwear, was retired from the Human Development Center and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Max Clayton of the home; a son, Bobby Clayton of Lorado;
a daughter, June Adair of Jonesboro; three brothers, Mack Wall of Brookland and Gerald
Wall and Russell Wall, both of Lorado; four sisters, Catty Adams and Sue Wade, both of
Jonesboro, and Orine Carr and Laverne Bobo, both of Lorado; and four grandchildren, Brian
Clayton, Andy Adair, Jared Clayton and Steven Adair. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Roller-Farmers Union
Funeral Home, with Royce Boling and Jim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Lorado

Barbara Sue Bishop
Born in Greene County, she was a food service worker at Paragould schools for 19 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Oak Grove High School. Survivors include her husband, Wylie Bishop of the home; two daughters, Pamela Diane
Bishop and Vicki Lynn Bishop, both of Paragould; two brothers, Larry Swink and Ronnie
Swink, both of Tucson, Ariz.; and one sister, Mozell Lewis of Paragould. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Heath Funeral Home Colonial Chapel,
with the Revs. Junior Vester and James Branscum officiating. Burial will be in New
Friendship Cemetery.
James Durrell Dowdy
Ruby Marie Fleeman She had served on the Greene Acres Nursing Home Board and the Farmers Home Administration board, was past president of the Greene County Home Demonstration Club and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Don Fleeman of Paragould; three daughters, Mary Jones, Emma
Pattee and Betty Imboden, all of Paragould; a sister, Bertha Kinsey of Chesterfield, Mo.;
nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home of
Paragould, with Dennis Scudder and Wayne Brightwell officiating. Burial will follow in
Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Eva Frances Hoggard
Pallbearers will be Darrell Stevens, Daniel Steele, Fred Vannucci, Chris Morrow, Al Farlow and Danny Hudson. Born in Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and a member of Grace United General Baptist
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hoggard, her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 6:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born in Pemiscot County, Mo., he had been a self-employed tire salesman and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include seven sons, Oneil Lamar of Hayti, Mo., James Lamar of Monette, Melvin Lamar of Rector, William Lamar of Paragould, Gregory Lamar of Gainesville and Joseph Lamar and Anthony Lamar, both of Paragould; eight daughters, Jeanette Waddell, Alissa Bolton, Malody Muse, Elizabeth Campbell and Lori Dixon, all of Paragould, Patsy Lunsford of Corning and Katherine Watson and Cathy Steele, both of Peach Orchard; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Marie Burge. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Ramer's Chapel United Methodist Church,
with Dr. Wayne Gould officiating. Burial will follow in Ramer's Chapel Cemetery, located
west of Rector, under the direction of Irby Funeral Service of Rector.

Born in Shannon, he had lived in Marmaduke before moving to Jonesboro 12 years ago. He was a farmer and a logger. Survivors include one son, Steve Kidd of Church Falls, Md.; three daughters, Gena Mager and June Toczylowski, both of O'Fallon, Mo., and Barbie Gammons of Waskom, Texas; two sisters, Dora Richway of Spring Hill, Fla., and Ethel Neister of Pontiac, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Cemetery, with Wayne Faulkner

Hoyet Stanley McConnell Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Askew of Snellville, Ga., and Patsy Brush of
Owassa, Mich.; and two brothers, Mac McConnell of Flint, Mich. and Kenneth McConnell of
Snellville. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, with Larry Woodward officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Survivors include his wife, Betty McDonald of Paragould; one son, Shane McDonald of

Helen Louise Allison
Helen Louise Allison, 81, of Walnut Ridge died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born in Marmaduke, she was a member of New Covenant Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one sister, Hazel Carter of Lake City; one son, Kenneth Cannon of
Fayetteville, N.C.; one daughter, Donna Murphy of Walnut Ridge; three grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Higginbotham Funeral Home chapel, with
Marion Stringer officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ellfreda Bryant
Born in the Shurm community, she was a homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Brown of Corning; a daughter, Lois Carrillo of
Rockford, Ill.; four sons, Odel King and Rondal King, both of Rockford, Terry Bryant of
Longview, Texas, and Dennis King of Fairdealing, Mo.; a stepson, Billy Ray Brown; a
stepdaughter, Angela Brown; a brother, Aaron Lindley of Paragould; 15 grandchildren; and
13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Burial will follow in Jones Ridge Cemetery at Delaplaine. Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Cletis Allen Abbott Born at Paragould, he was a timber cutter, served in the Army National Guard and attended Faith Church. Survivors include his wife, Ima Shipman Abbott of the home; four sons, Tommy Abbott of
Jonesboro, Randy Abbott of Leachville and Cary Abbott and Cletis Abbott, both of Illinois;
two brothers, Johnny Abbott and Bill Abbott, both of Paragould; four sisters, Geraldine
Rose of Brookland and Imogene Wiggington, Debra Jones and Christine Halsell, all of

Jewel Wayne Baldwin

Mathel Ellington
She was born in Walcott and was a homemaker. She was a member of the 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould where she was a former elementary Sunday school supervisor. Survivors include a son, Rex Ellington of Paragould; one daughter, Sherma Ussery of
Paragould; one brother, Coleman Lemmons of Whitney, Texas; four sisters, Bettie Austin of
Paragould, Ida Belle Lambert of St. Peters, Mo., Coletta Dillard of Jonesboro and Demetra
Kiihnl of Searcy; four grandchildren; Autumn Ussery of Little Rock and Snapper Ussery,

Randy Gordon Pillow
He was an assistant manager for the Wal-Mart store in Lafayette and a member of the Third Avenue Baptist Church in Paragould. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Joiner Pillow of Lafayette; a daughter, Dalana Pillow
of Lafayette; two brothers, William Mack Pillow and Earl Pillow, both of Paragould; and

Mildred Imogene Weaver Born at Success, she was a homemaker, a retired sub-foreman for Emerson Electric and of

Jess Perry Huffman
Burial will follow in Browns Chapel in Paragould. Born in Craighead County, he was a carpenter and a farmer and was of the Baptist belief. Survivors include two sons, Dale Huffman of Rapid City, S.D., and Lon Huffman of
O'Fallon, Ill.; three daughters, Peggy Brown of Benton, Judy Williams of Paragould and
Nettie Williams of North Little Rock; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one

She is survived by a son, Jack Stone; one daughter, Linda Lenox of Paragould; one
brother; Bill Greeno of St. Louis; and three sisters, Lois Brown, Dorothy Miller and Anna

Imperial, Mo.; a brother, Cleatus Hoyer of Termo, Calif.; three sisters, Violet Baldwin

Jimmy Ray Bryant
Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Bryant, 65, of Paragould, who died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. John E. Marconi, the Rev. Richard Davis, C. Ray Miller and Dr. Bruce Tippit will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery at Paragould under the direction of Heath
Funeral Home. Born in Light, he attended school in Light and graduated in 1955 from Greene County
Tech High School. He was a pitcher for the Arkansas Travelers baseball team and attended
the University of Mississippi. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Heath Bryant of the home; three daughters, Kimberly
Ann Bryant and Melanie Heath Bryant, both of Paragould, and Tanya Lynn Ellington of
Jonesboro; his father, Lester Thomas "Peck" Bryant of Paragould; and three
grandchildren, Jordan Lee McBride and Bradley Heath McBride, both of Jonesboro, and Jack
