Anthony Brian Ray Anderson



Brian Anderson, 38, of Caraway, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2011 at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born May 19, 1973 in Paragould. Brian was a graduate of Riverside High School and a member the New Hope Baptist Church in Caraway. He was a dispatcher for Medic One and a member of the Caraway Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of animals and storm chasing.

He was survived by his wife, Marla Anderson; his mother, Mattie Williams Anderson of Caraway; his children, Hunter Ray Wilkerson, Nikolas Anderson, Abbeegayle Anderson, Meghan Nichole Wilkerson and Samantha Prine; two sisters and their husbands, Sherry and Tommy Wilbanks of Caraway and Sandy and Mark Pigmon of Earle; his grandmother, Julia Anderson of Lake City; a niece, Chasnee Grant; two nephews, Logan Pigmon and Ryan Wilbanks and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Ray Anderson.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 3rd, 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Caraway.

A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating with burial in the Caraway Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Arkansas State Firefighter Association Honor Guard and as honorary pallbearers the Caraway Volunteer Fire Department and Medic One Employees.

Lasting memorials may be given to the Brian Anderson Memorial Fund at any Heritage Bank.

Henry H. Vanderbilt

Henry H. Vanderbilt, 95, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Craighead County Nursing Center.

Born September 24, 1915, in Marmaduke, AR., Henry moved to Weiner in 1957 and then to Jonesboro in 1958. He was a retired track inspector for Cotton Belt Railroad where he worked over thirty years. Henry was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of W.W. II.

Henry enjoyed gardening and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Vanderbilt, 2 sisters, Dorothy Harris and Glendaline Vanderbilt, and by 5 brothers, Bill, Al, Robert, Herman and Glen Edward Vanderbilt.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Gary and Pat Vanderbilt of Jonesboro;

3 sisters and brother-in-law: Clara and Harry Holt of Pensacola, Florida, Nola Jordan of Gas City, Indiana, and Shirley Gunterman of St. Louis; 2 grandchildren, Amy and husband Stuart Simpson, and Steven Vanderbilt, all of Jonesboro; and 6 great grandchildren: Lynlie, Luke and Logan Simpson, and David, Gregory and Abigail Vanderbilt; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services and visitation will be private with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Larry Gordon Doherty



Larry Gordon Doherty, 68, of Leachville, AR., passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born November 18, 1942 in Senath, MO., he was the son of the late Ira and Ethel Rouse Doherty and had been a long time area resident.
Mr. Doherty was a lifetime member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Buckeye and had been a truck driver for 35 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and the United States Army. He valued the simple pleasures in life such as talking on CB radios, watching westerns and relaxing. His family would like for him to be remembered as a very loving father that never met a stranger and liked to laugh.

He is survived by four sons, Larry "Casey" Doherty and wife Trisa of Krum, TX., Paul Cameron Doherty of Aubrey, TX., Shannon Christopher Doherty of Aubrey, TX., and Kenny Luis Brown and wife Jolie of Hornersville, MO.; two brothers, States Skipper of Ozark, MO., and Don Simpkins of Paragould; one sister, Barbara Morris of Leachville. Mr. Doherty also leaves five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a very special friend Mrs. Willie Huskey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Jane Doherty; one brother, J.R. Doherty, and one grandson, Shawn Brown.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3rd, 2:00 p.m. at the New Providence Baptist Church in Buckeye with Rev. David Powell officiating. Interment in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, AR., is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the church.

Pallbearers are, Nathan Doherty, Tanner Doherty, Tate Doherty, Casey Doherty, Shannon Doherty, Todd Skipper and Kenny Brown.

Mrs. Berlene Gatlin-Wilcox



Berlene Gatlin-Wilcox, 89, ended her journey on this earth and fell asleep unto the Lord on September 2, 2011 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born October 22, 1921 at Paragould to John and Sarah Price Howard. She had lived in the Brookland area since she was 17 years old. She lived a full and rich life in this world. May her memory be eternal. Mrs. Wilcox attended Brookland Baptist Church where she enjoyed activities with her Sunday school class. Berlene retired from Arkansas State University in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 46 years, Alex Gatlin; her second husband of 20 years, Floyd Wilcox; two half sisters, Lucy Wilthong and Jewel Kitrel; a half brother, Evertte Howard; a grandson, Jerry Don Yates; one stepson, Hansel Gatlin, and two step daughters, Ernestine Pierce and Hazel Scruggs.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Gatlin-Tennant of Brookland and Tulip Maynard of Bryant; two granddaughters, Deanna Ziomek and Tracy Hanshaw; three great grandsons, Riley Blair, Walker Blair and Braden Hanshaw; three great granddaughters, Danna Ziomek, Hannah Blair and Tiffany Yates; a great-great grandson; and several cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, 5:00 until 8:00 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 5th, 10:00 a.m. at the Brookland Baptist Church with Bill Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Rex Gatlin, Bruce Gatlin, Windford Gatlin, Richard Pierce, Brad Wallen, and Oval Beasley. Mrs. Wilcox’s Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

God has her in his arms, we have her in our hearts.

Don Mack Dickinson



Don Mack Dickinson, 76, passed away September 3, 2011, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Don was born September 3, 1935, he was a lifelong member of the Marmaduke Church of Christ, where he served as an elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorene Dickinson and a brother Duane Dickinson.

Mr. Dickinson was the owner of Dickinson’s TV Sales and Service in Marmaduke and a retired rural postal carrier. He served in the Army Reserve and the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion. Don was a retired volunteer firefighter with the Marmaduke Fire Department. He served many years as a council member on the Marmaduke City Council. He was appointed to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee by Governor Huckabee. Don Mack enjoyed his retirement by volunteering as a SeniorNet Computer Coach. He also loved the challenges of being a self-directed stock trader.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Dickinson of the home; son, Steven Dickinson; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Danny Sabo; brother and two sisters-in-law, Ricky and Linda Dickinson and Lynda Dickinson; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 7th, 10:00 a.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Larry McFadden and James Balcom officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Blackshear, Chris Dickinson, Bill Dickinson, Joe Dickinson, Charles Collier and Randy Brinkley. Honorary pallbearers will be A. D. Reynolds and Bill Phillips. Clara Belle Fletcher



Clara Belle Fletcher, 91, of Paragould passed away September 4, 2011 at Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro. She was born January 7, 1920 in Butler County, Missouri to Rev. Frank and Pearl (Marler) Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Finch Baptist Church for more than 75 years and was the piano player for 62 years. She, along with her husband, Vernon Fletcher sang in a Southern Gospel Quartet for many years. She was also an avid basketball fan having played in her teen years at the Alexander and Marmaduke schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Vernon Fletcher; her parents; a grandson, Danny Wood; a son-in-law Ted Wood and three brothers.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Fletcher of Paragould; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Bill Grogan of Paragould and Betty and Lavon Light of Clover Bend; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6th, 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Finch Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Finch Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Steve Wood, Harlan Wood, Terry Crafton, Winston Brown, Randy McDaniel and Jim Fletcher. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Wood.

Judy Marie Kanneman



Judy Marie Kanneman, 63 of Paragould, passed away Sunday September 4, 2011 at UAMS in Little Rock. Born January 2, 1948, Judy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a former employee of Monroe Auto and Arkansas Methodist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kanneman; parents, Robert and Mary Hobbs, sisters Rayanna Rowland and Alice Wheeler and son-in-law Dennis Daniel.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Michele and Mike Scott of Benton Harbor, MI, Tina and Sean Morrison of Paragould; son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Kathrine Kanneman III of Cabot, AR; sisters and brothers-in-law Wanda and David Clayton and Betty Bullinger of Paragould and Diane Moran of Dallas, TX, Beverly and Mike McKinney of Lafe and Patricia and Don Rodgers of Jordan, AR; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Brenda Hobbs of Lafe, Richard and Tammy Hobbs of Boise, ID, Jerry and Leslie Hobbs and Ronald and Kim Hobbs all of Paragould, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Rosary will be Wednesday evening at 6:00 at Heath Funeral Home with visitation following from 6:30 until 8:00. Funeral mass will be Thursday morning, September 8th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the UAMS Cancer Research or Lebonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

Connie Jean Reed



Connie Jean Reed, 64, of Paragould passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born on January 7, 1947, in Sikeston, MO., to the late Joseph Roy and Mary Black Ainley. She was a long time area resident, of the Baptist faith, loved horses and donated her free time to volunteer work at area nursing homes.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie (Leah) Reed Jr., William Reed, both of Paragould and Joseph Reed of Little Rock; one daughter, Lisa Cothren of Paragould; two brothers, James Ainley of Fort Smith and Pete Ainley of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and three brothers.

Memorial services will be Saturday, September 10th, 12:00 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Paragould, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila.

Billy J. Edwards




Billy J. Edwards, 80, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Jonesboro.

Billy was born November 25, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Davidson Edwards, siblings, Ray, Houston and Clifton Edwards and Emma Stallcup.

Survivors include his wife: Emma Jean Edwards of the home; son: Byron Edwards of Jonesboro; daughter: Lynn Boyd of Little Rock; granddaughter, Angela Boyd and grandson, Jason Boyd.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10th, 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow visitation Saturday 1:00 p.m. at Greene County Memorial Gardens, with Shane Stovall officiating.

Harry Jefferson Bazzell




Harry Jefferson Bazzell, 85, went to be with the Lord September 6, 2011.
Harry was born October 24, 1925. His loving parents were H.M and Ollie Bazzell of Paragould, AR. He graduated from Lakeside High School in 1942.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy Jefferson Bazzell; two sisters, Wanda Bazzell Burstyne and Roma Bazzell Dayton, and brother-in-law, Clint Dayton.

Survivors include his wife Joan, who resides in Kennett; his son, Jeff Bazzell and his wife, Tina, who also live in Kennett, and his daughter, Cindy Hine and her husband, David, who live in Claremont, CA. Harry has four grandchildren, David Hine, Susannah Hine, Trey Bazzell, and Macy Bazzell. He has one sister, Joan Bazzell Brocksmith and her husband, Tom, of Paragould, AR., and a brother-in-law, Joe Burstyne, who lives in Memphis, TN.

Harry was a businessman in Kennett, Piggott, Cardwell, and Paragould for the past 63 years. He dedicated his entire working life to the John Deere business.

He was the active manager and owner of the John Deere dealership in Kennett and Piggott, as well as a 32nd degree Mason with the Shriner Temple. During his life, he also served as a member of the Rotary Club, a deacon of the First Christian Church in Kennett, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Paragould, Ark. He was best known for his love and dedication to his family and wife, Joan Cole Bazzell.

Harry will also be warmly remembered for his generosity to those in need, especially at his dealerships. In recent years, he established the Harry Jefferson Bazzell Scholarship Fund at Southeast Missouri State University. This fund enables his employees, their children, and local students in the community to pursue a college education. He quietly helped many and found this to be most gratifying and meaningful.


The family asks in lieu of flowers that friends and loved-ones consider a donation in his name to the Harry Jefferson Bazzell Scholarship Fund. Visitation and memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 300 College Avenue, Kennett, Missouri. Visitation will Friday, September 9th, 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould, AR.


Harry's family would like to acknowledge and thank the many friends who prayed, called, and asked about him during his illness the last few years. Your loving kindness and concern will never be forgotten.

Earlene Evans, 86 of Paragould passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Earlene was born February 4, 1925. She was a homemaker and a member of Paragould Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Evans; parents, Osmer and Molly Thurman Stallcup; brother, Leon Stallcup, and sister, Jean Snell.
Survivors include son, Charles Evans of Paragould; daughter, Teresa Edwards of Judsonia, AR; sister, Verna Woolfall of Corpus Christi, TX., grandchildren, Josh, Tim, and Jeremy Edwards, Melissa Greer and James Brashears and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 10th, 3:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Revs. Brian Johnson and Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

Harold Hafford Utley
 


Harold Utley, 81 of Rector passed away September 7, 2011 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital, Paragould. He was born to the late Samuel and Loney (Long) Utley in Clay County.

Preceding him in death was three brothers, J.C., R.L. and James Utley, three sisters, Marie Jenkins, Geneva Green and Mary Akers and a half sister: Thelma Morris.

He is survived by two sisters: Louise Banks and Evelyn Banks of Paragould and a half brother: Louis Nyden of Rector.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 9th, 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Sam Jenkins and Ken Roden officiating.
Visitation at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Henry Clay Horton, Jr.



Henry Clay Horton, Jr., 84 of Paragould passed away Thursday September 8, 2011 at his home. He was born December 14, 1926 in Steele, MO., the son of the late Henry Clay and Goldie Fern Wible Horton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Opal Horton, brothers, Arvil and Jess Horton, sister, Mildred Lester.
He was a retired foreman with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department. He was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Missouri.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Ronnie and Judy Horton of Steele, MO; daughter and son-in-law: Cathy and Terry Milburn of Paragould; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will be Sunday, September 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Full Gospel Church with Terry Milburn, Michael Horton and Ronnie Horton officiating. Bertha Dickson Lewis
 



Bertha Dickson Lewis, 96, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1915 in Mammoth Springs, AR.

During World War II, she worked for one year for the War Department in San Diego and Camp Campbell, Kentucky. Mrs. Lewis began teaching when she was 18 years old and taught elementary school for almost 50 years at Oak Grove, Stanford and Paragould. After retiring, she went back to substitute teaching until the age of 68.

Mrs. Lewis earned her B.S.E. from Arkansas State University. She was a founding member and the first president of the local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers’ sorority. She was a member of the Greene County Retired Teachers Association, Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Arkansas Methodist Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathryn Sturdivant of Jonesboro; one brother, I. J. Davidson of Memphis; and three sisters, Willene Gardner of Jonesboro, Vada Langston of Hartford, Michigan, and Druscilla Davidson of Jackson, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Dickson in 1980; and by her second husband, Mervin Lewis in February, 2011.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 12th, 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening, 4:00 until 6:00 at the Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Larry Davidson, Jerry Midkiff, Edward Gardner, Max Adams, Scott Lemmons and Larry Cleaves will serve as pallbearers.

Freda Lagean Smith

 


Freda Lagean Smith, 85, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.

Mrs. Smith was born December 2, 1925 in Caraway, AR., and was a homemaker. She was a member of Souls Harbor Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don Smith, and Earl and Carol Smith of Paragould; and one brother, Ray Robertson of Mountain View. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Viola Robertson; her husband, “JR” Smith; four brothers; and daughter-in-law, Ratha Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday prior to services from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services will be Saturday, September 10th, 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery with Carter Grindstaff officiating. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:45 Saturday afternoon.

Tom Galczynski, Kevin West, Kurtis West, Scott Galczynski, Jake Galczynski, and Alex West will serve as pallbearers.

Henry Edward Manuel

 


Henry Edward "Bud" Manuel, 66, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Advanced Care Hospital of White County in Searcy. He was born February 5, 1945 in Keiser, AR., the son of the late James William "Bill" and Della M. Edlemon Manuel. He was also preceded in death by sister Lottie Vallance and brother, James Andrews. He was retired from Emerson Electric Company, was a member of Mountain Home Church Of Christ and coached softball for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Loui Manuel of the home; children: Tammy and Steve Stewart, Laura Sterling and Dennis Elrod , all Paragould, Becky and Jay Ritsmon of Manila, Michael and Bridgett Manuel of Paragould; siblings: Billy and Betty Manuel of Olive Branch, MS, Bob and Shirley Manuel of Munford, TN, Tressie Gray of Somerville, TN, Beatrice and Gene Mears of Arlington, TN; grandchildren: Cody and Whitney Stewart, Jeremy Brown, Michelle and Erica Woodhouse, Tyler and Mallory Ritsmon and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated Monday, September 12th, 10:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home, with Emmett Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Dorotha Evyline Wilson, 85 of Paragould passed away Friday, September 9, 2011at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Born June 18, 1926 to Luther Allen and Pauline Madison Hooks Thomason, she was a homemaker, a “Prayer Warrior” and a member of New Covenant Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Raymond Wilson; her parents, and brothers, Dallas and Paul O. Thomason.

Ronnie G. Lewis
 


Ronnie G. Lewis, 65, of Paragould passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1946 to Charles and Wava Lewis of Paragould.

Ronnie was a 1964 graduate of Greene County Tech. He served in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He served his community as Greene County Tax Assessor, and as a deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. He was a retired sergeant with the Paragould Police Department, and of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lewis.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rose; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Eddie Broadaway, and Erin and Jamie Exum and a precious granddaughter, Olivia Exum all of Paragould. He is also survived by his mother, Wava Lewis, of Paragould; two sisters, Judy Wenzlick of Wentzville, MO., and Phyllis Mullins of Paragould; two brothers, Jimmy Lewis of Fayetteville, AR., and Andy Lewis of Honolulu, HI., and several nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was truly a servant to others. He was always there to lend a hand or smile to those in need. He expressed his love through service and devotion to his family, community, and country.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 12th, 10:00 a.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Harris and Rex Bouldin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, 5:30 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Williams, Carlon Chipman, Phillip Faulkner, Todd Stovall, Stephen Pace and Brendon Baldridge. Trayce “Tadpole” Williams will be an honorary pallbearer.

Belinda Faye Wayman Benton



Belinda Faye Wayman Benton, 51, of Paragould, was born May 3, 1960. She passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, at her home. She was recently married to the late Gregory Benton at their church where she was recently saved and baptized. She was a 1978 graduate of Lafe High School. Starting in January 2012, she was enrolling to finish her Bachelor of Science degree at Arkansas State University. Her brother, Andrew Wayman and grandparents, Jack and Maudie Morgan, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a large family. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law: Aaron and Kathy Wayman of Cherokee Village, Ethan Rodriguez of the home; three grandchildren: Sarah, Henry and Harper Wayman; loving parents, Walter and Wanda Johnson of Lafe; brothers: Michael Johnson of Poplar Bluff, MO, David Johnson of Madisonville, TN; sisters Janet Crow of Poplar Bluff, MO, Julie Benware of Paragould, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She recently connected with half-sisters Debra Underwood of West Virginia, Tina Wayman of Ripon, WI, Robin Pruitt of Janesville, WI and Tammy Miller of Saint Charles, IL and Cheryl Ann.

Betty Jean Wallace




Mrs. Betty Jean “B.J.” Wallace was born in Paragould, AR., November 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Geneva Wilkerson Lawrence. She passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, AR., at the age of 83 years 9 months and 13 days. Mrs. Wallace had lived in Trumann for the past 26 years and was formerly of Houston, TX. She was a housewife and member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by one brother, Dillman Lawrence and her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James R. Wallace of the home; one daughter, Lisa L. Gillett and husband Humphrey of Fulshear, Texas; one brother, Ray Lawrence of Temple, Texas; and one grandson, James Allen Dozier of Pflugerville, Texas.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning September 13th,10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Leo Darrell Crossno, son of the late Melvin and Velvia Williams Crossno, was born September 12, 1935, in Paragould, AR., and passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at his residence in Senath, MO., at the age of 75.

Survivors include two sons, David Allen Crossno, of Polk City, FL., and Larry Dale Crossno, of Hope, AR.; two brothers, Tom Crossno, of MI., and Carl Dean Crossno, of Hornersville, MO. He is also survived by Pat Bell Tansil and her children, Byron, Billy Wayne and Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darrell Wayne Crossno; one brother, Donald Crossno, and his step-mother, Lillie Mae Crossno.

Pauline Hufford, 95, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1916 in Cardwell, MO., the daughter of the late William and Willie O'Brian Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Hufford, brother, Herman Ferguson, sisters, Opal Johnson, Upal Curtis, grandchildren Anthony Hufford and Donna Day Jordan. She was a homemaker and a member of Joyful Sounds PCG. Her favorite scripture was 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Gene) Day, Robert "Bud” (Faye) Hufford, Tim (Sadie) Hufford, all of Paragould; Carolyn (Gary) Thomen and Phyllis (Joe) Blanchette all of Spring Hill, FL., eleven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Songer; one brother; a sister and her parents.

Survivors include her husband Vernon Reece; two sons, Harvey (Debbie) Songer of Walcott and Venson (Sharron) Songer of Paragould; a daughter, Ivonne (Light) Roberts of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Bridgett Couch, Jennifer Andrews, Michael Songer, Christopher Songer, Trina Scrape, Brittany Moran and Zachary Moran; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Alvin Metcalf of Rockford, IL; and a sister, Merle Reece of Rockford.

Isie Bell Faries, 90 of Rector passed away September 12, 2011 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital. She was born April 3, 1921 to the late Jack and Gracie (Crump) Ragsdale.

Kenneth E. Fielder, 90, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Born April 16, 1921, in Walcott, he was the son of the late Alvin Benton Fielder and Ola Vera Beasley Fielder.

Mr. Fielder was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Coast Guard from July 9, 1942- December 14, 1945 in the South Pacific. He was a retired salesman for H. J. Heinz.

Survivors include his brother, Dr. Gerald Dexter Fielder and his wife, Lora D. Fielder of Union, South Carolina; nieces, Julie F. Sander and her husband, Don Sander of Columbia, South Carolina, and Jennifer F. Horne, husband, Tony Horne of Union, South Carolina. He is also survived by great niece, Libby Robertson of Columbia, South Carolina; great nephews, Arthur Harry Huntley, wife, Anna Huntley of Greenville, South Carolina, Gerald Fielder Huntley of Columbia, South Carolina, and Jake Robertson of Union, South Carolina; one great great niece, Jill Huntley of Greenville, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Betty H. Hill of Georgia, Doris Hobson of Paragould; one brother-in-law, Morris Hope of LaPorte, Indiana; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta L. Hope Fielder and a niece, Jill F. Huntley.

Born August 24, 1920, in Greene County, AR., he was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Spence was a retired carpenter, a member of Pine Knot Church of Christ, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lou Spence; his wife, Audie Pillow Spence and one brother, Perry Spence.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Barbara Spence of Rosanky, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Calvin Burgin of Paragould; and two grandchildren.

Cotton was retired from the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department, farmed and was a Baptist.

She is also survived by one sister, Daphine Watson and one brother-in-law, John Bailey,both of Paragould; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn Johnson; her parents; two daughters, Paula Easton and Reba Johnson; a son-in-law, Harold Easton; two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 21st, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Rudy Ring officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Elsie Alfreda Cleary, 76, of Paragould, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at her home. She was born February 23, 1935 in Chicago, IL. the daughter of the late Axel and Nora Bomgren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Cleary and daughter, Linda Brannum.

Maleta Ann Scudder, 78, of Paragould, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 20, 2011.

She was born January 17, 1933, in Lynn, AR. to Earl Lafayette and Gladys Marie Borah. She was a faithful member of East Side Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Dennis Scudder of the home; two sons, Bob (Alicia) Scudder of Petersburg, Virginia, and Jim (Darla) Scudder of Paragould. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ben (Jenn) Scudder of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kent and Ellen Scudder of Petersburg, Virginia, Tyler Scudder, Heather Reed and Trevor Scudder of Paragould; one sister, Lucy Streetman of Jonesboro; and one brother, Earl (Joan) Borah of Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be Friday evening, September 23rd, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24th, 10:00 a.m. at East Side Baptist Church with Jeff Dial and Jason Noel officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Edith C. Hill, 89, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1921, in Greenway, AR., to Frank and Albertine Bishop, Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Katrina Hill of Paragould, Ed and Kristie Hill of Jonesboro; three daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly and Nathan Thompson, Carolyn Carlisle and Debbie Hannah, all of Jonesboro. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Valerie Bailey, Jennifer Long, Matthew Hill, Sarah Smith, John Hill, and Beth Hannah; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Hill; her parents; one grandson, Ryan Thompson; and one son-in-law, Randy Hannah.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 23rd, 10:30 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Doug Ferris and Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery, Lafe. Visitation will be Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Born January 15, 1923, Mary Dorothy Crump, 88 formerly of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. Mary was retired from Burkhart Manufacturing Company and was a member of the 1st United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Crump; parents William C. and Bertha Pace Anders; a son; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include granddaughters, Andora Weis of Michigan, Mary Barber of St. Louis, MO; Betty Taylor of Poplar Bluff, MO and Tanya LeBoeuf of Highland, AR; grandson and wife, Nathan and Jessica Crump of Highland, AR; sister, Maxine Haggett of Cahokia, IL and nine great grandchildren.

Albert Lee Collins, Jr, 54, of Lafe, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at his residence.

Born October 3, 1956, in Pineville, KY., Mr. Collins was the plant manager of Bilco Corporation in Trumann. He was a member of West View Baptist Church, Paragould.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Joyce Collins of the home; his mother, Betty Collins of Winchester, TN., two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Karri Moseley of Silas, AL., and Josh and Kristin Collins of Lafe; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and David Lee Lockhart of Arlington, TN.; and one sister, Dodie Brazier of Estill Springs, TN. He was beloved “Pappy” to two granddaughters, Lacy Hunter Lockhart and Lexi Ryan Lockhart.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Hunter Collins; his father, Albert Lee Collins, Sr.; and one sister, Donna Collins Hall.

Imogene Clark 89, of Paragould passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011. She was born August 8, 1922 at Evening Shade, AR., to Alvin and Martha Eubanks.

Imogene was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is preceded by her parents; husband, Wade Clark; one son, Bill Wayne Clark; seven brothers, Frank, Issiac, Emery, Roy, John, Robert and Junior Eubanks and one sister, Goldie Archer.

Roy Edwin Rosten

 

Roy Edwin Rosten, 81, of Paragould, Ark., passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born December 31, 1929, in Negaunee, MI., he was the son of the late John and Ida Rosten.

Mr. Rosten worked many years for Climax Mining Company in Colorado. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and building ships in bottles. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by four sons, Craig Rosten and wife Leta of Paragould, Kevin Rosten and wife Kristi of Colorado Springs, CO., Keith Rosten and wife Barb of Durango, CO., and Kurt Rosten and wife Carolee of Colorado Springs, CO.; one brother, Fred Rosten of Marguette, MI.; one sister, Lois Rosten; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rosten was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Misty Rosten, three brothers and a sister.

The family has requested private services and disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark.

Anita Jean (Greer) Anderson, 69 of Paragould passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at White River Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy, AR. Born August 20, 1942, Anita was a homemaker, ophthalmologist assistant and worked at Ely & Walker Shirt Factory in the 1960’s. She was of the Baptist belief. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, Richard Greer.

Hugh Allen Duty

 


Hugh Allen Duty, 58, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday September 23, 2011, at St Bernard’s Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.

Hugh was born on July 31, 1953 to the late Buster and Verlene Duty of Paragould. His passions in life were his family and music. He had been a drummer for several different bands over his musical career. He lived in Nashville, Tennessee where he played music for many years. He also traveled with the 1932 Ballroom Blues Band, Steelwind, Cadillac Wheels, and was also in a House Band in Branson, Missouri. He had been employed with Wal-Mart for a total of 15 years, and he was a loving father and grandfather, that loved to spoil his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mandy Duty of Jonesboro; a son, Josh Hinson of Jonesboro; two daughters, Sarah Sumpter and husband Kevin of Jonesboro, and Keisha Broyles of Mountain Home; a brother, Max Duty and wife Janette of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Madeline Sumpter, Sydney Hinson, Samuel Sumpter, and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 27th, 10:00 a.m. in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dave Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rodney Gale Maag, 53, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011, at his home. Rodney was born January 15, 1958 in Paragould. Rodney was a graduate of Paragould High School and Arkansas State University and was employed by Teleflora as a customer service representative. Rodney loved hunting and was an avid Cardinal and Razorback fan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harmon and Hester Maag and Lester and Ruth Cooper.

He is survived by his wife: Dee Ann Yandell Maag, of the home; parents: Gale and Peggy Maag of Paragould, Brenda and Lloyd McCall of Ash Flat; brothers and sisters-in-law: Kelley and Tara Maag of Paragould, Stan and Angie Maag of Cherokee Village; sister and brother-in-law: Jennifer and Andy Adams of Wichita, Kansas; nieces and nephews: Rachel, Zoe, Quinton and Reid Maag, Ben and Annabelle Adams; dogs: Gus and Burlap; cat: Gabby and several cousins and aunts and many, many friends.

Austin Gregory Stokes, 17, of Paragould passed away September 25, 2011. He was born December 15, 1993 in Paragould to Gregory and Barbara Stokes.

Austin was a junior at Crowley’s Ridge Academy, he enjoyed playing his guitar, video games and spending time with his friends. He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Walter Stokes and William Johns.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Hannah Stokes of the home and Kimberly Stokes of Paragould; grandmothers, Charlene Stokes and Martha Johns both of Paragould; aunts and uncles, Geoffrey (Teresa) Stokes, Debbie (James) Thompson, Nancy (Ted) Spillman and Cindi Ritchardson and one niece, Hallie Gilmore.

Edna Black, 97, of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Regional Hospital. She was born August 2, 1914 in Paragould to Edgar and Rosa Mae Holland Fisher. Edna was a homemaker and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jeff King; and her second husband, Parker Black.

Wilborn William Thomas

 

Wilborn William "Bill" Thomas, 95, of Powhatan, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Walnut Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Walnut Ridge. Bill was born February 10, 1916, to the late Herman and Lucy Thomas. He was a retired automobile mechanic, enjoyed woodworking in his retirement years, and was an Army Veteran.

Survivors include his daughter: Doris Thomas of Walnut Ridge; Son: Bill and Leta Thomas of Helotes, TX; brother: Lum Thomas of Lafe; stepchildren: Charles Rush of Lynn, Lynnette Smith of Williford, Curtis Rush of Rockford, Illinois, Lucinda Smith of Black Rock; fifteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, woodworking buddy, Carl Cook and the gang at Renee's Cafe.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Thomas, second wife, Laura Thomas, sister, Alice Rabe, Buelah Thomas, Virginia Bollinger, brother, Marlin Thomas and his parents..

Friends and family will meet for a graveside service Saturday, October 1st, 2:00 p.m. at the Gainesville Cemetery. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.

Vestle Taylor Starnes
 


Vestle Taylor Starnes, 93, of Raymond, MS, formerly of Blytheville, AR, passed from this life Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS.


Born in Greene County, AR to the late Ralph Hubert and Lela Jane Roberts Taylor, she was a homemaker who loved being surrounded by her family. She enjoyed cooking and doing her own canning and was a member of the Main and 13th Street Church of Christ. She was a former beautician and a retired teacher's aide with the Blytheville Public School System.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Von K. Starnes; daughter, Dorothy Jacqueline Starnes; brothers, Champ, Chester, Bob and George Taylor and sisters, Lorene and Martha Taylor and Imogene Hyzdu.


She is survived by her children, Jane Starnes Allen and husband, Pat of Tupelo, MS; Becky Starnes Daniels and husband, Bruce of Blytheville, AR; and Greg Starnes and wife, Leah of Clinton, MS; brothers, David Taylor and Jim Taylor of Minden, LA and Otis Taylor of Maryland; sisters, Lucille Taylor of Paragould, AR, Virginia Lowe of Little Rock, AR; Grandsons, Scott Allen of Bakersfield, CA, Ronny Allen of Tupelo, MS, Danny Daniels of Atlanta, GA, Bryce Daniels of Auburn, AL and Reed Starnes of Clinton, MS; Great grandchildren, Tiana Allen of Tupelo, MS, Cody Allen of Bakersfield, CA, Caleb Daniels, Leighton Daniels, Palmer Daniels, Emerson Daniels all of Auburn, AL and Trey Daniels of Atlanta, GA.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1st, 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Duane Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, AR.

Ollie Blanton Damron
 



Ollie Blanton Damron, 74, Paragould, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1937 in Lola, KY., the son of the late P. Y. and Carmon Kimsey Damron. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Damron, brothers, Jimmy and Robert Damron, grandson, Jesse McCall. He was a Carpenter and of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his son: David Blanton Damron (Barbara Davidson) of Beech Grove; daughter: Debra Ann McCall (Greg Johnson) of Paragould; sisters: Deloris Beard of KY.; Shirley Fox of Salem, KY; grandchildren: Nicholas Blanton Snider, Dalton Theodore Snider, Danyell Scaggs, Shania Scaggs; step-grandchildren: Mindy James, Justin James; great-granddaughter: Gracie James.

Mildred Nadine Phillips



Mildred Nadine Phillips, 87, of Paragould passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

She was born November 4, 1923 in Marmaduke, AR to Van and Elvira Morten. Mildred was a member of Seventh and Mueller Chruch of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester A.J Phillips; one daughter, Patricia Sue Boggs; three brothers, Jim, George and Noble Morten; two sisters, Cybil Rogers and Faye Faughn and one grandchild, Christopher Dale Boggs.

Survivors include one son, Tony Phillips; one son-in-law, Roger Boggs; two grandchildren, Steven Boggs of Paragould and Jason Boggs of Minn. and two great-grandchildren, Kali and Wade Boggs.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 1st, 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 pm, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Michael Cox officiating.
Burial will at New Liberty Cemetery.

Betty L. Killough



Betty L. Killough, 80 of Paragould passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011. She was born June 12, 1931 in Caraway, AR. to Truman and Opal Gyngard. Betty was a member of Gainesville Church of Christ. She loved fishing, camping and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clovis “Pete” Killough.

Survivors include two sons, Rick and Teresa Killough of CA., Topper and Suzette Killough of Paragould; two daughters, Rhonda Betts of Paragould, Radonna Killough of CA.; one brother, Jerry Gyngard; two sisters, Sue Syer, Judy Stewart; seven grandchildren, Denell Poe, Dallas, Tyler, Boston and Lindsey Killough, Dustin and Dakota Betts; five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, October 2nd, 6:00 until 9:00 at Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 3rd, 10:30 a.m. at the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Topper and Tyler Killough officiating.

Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

The family request memorials to be made to the Memorial Scholarship Fund at Crowley’s Ridge Academy.

Shirley Ann Kepner, 64, of Marmaduke, passed away Thursday September 29, 2011 at her home. She was born February 23, 1947 in Sitka, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Kepner, father, Sylvester Morgan. She was an employee of Monroe Auto.

She is survived by her sons: Wayne McPhink of Paragould; Chris McPhink of Alexandria, VA; Randy (Cherywin) McPhink of Marmaduke; mother: Vina Anderson of Marmaduke; grandchildren: Michala McPhink and William McPhink.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be Saturday, October 1st, 3:30 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Gary Morris officiating.

Interment in Providence Cemetery.

Dorothy Deloris Phelps Jarrett

 

Dorothy Deloris Phelps Jarrett, 81, of Oak Grove Heights, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at her home. She was born October 3, 1929 in Cardwell, MO., the daughter of the late JE (Eb) and Dovie Chloe Bishop Phelps. Dorothy married Elvis Wayne Jarrett on August 4, 1945. To this union, two daughters were born.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Dennis Phelps, son-in-law, Lynn Humphrey, two brothers-in-law, Elton Cruit and Bob Fletcher.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Peggy Jarrett Humphrey and Marsha Jo Jarrett Eakins, both of Paragould; sisters and brothers-in-law: Rachel and Leland Keasler of Paragould, Aileen Fletcher of Cardwell, MO., Barbara Cruit of Mobile, AL., Norma and Virgil Bartle of Rolla, MO., brothers and sisters-in-law: Joel and Joan Phelps of Ozark, AL., Glen and Patti Phelps of Tehachapi, CA., grandchildren and their spouses: Curtis and Susie Hall, Jennifer Breckenridge, Nikki and Steven Boone, Ambi Cross (Alan Slayton); great grandchildren: Jessica Hall, Corina Hall, Alan Cox, Tyler Hobbs, Dalton Hall, Holly Breckenridge, Andrea Breckenridge, Raven Boone, Jaggar Rogers, Jake Breckenridge and Hailey Boone, great great grandchildren, Braxton Oost and Kendra Cox; very special friend Paula Herron and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Dorothy's life will be celebrated Monday, October 3rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Mark McMinn and Reverend Arthur Phelps officiating.
Pallbearers are Bobby Fletcher, Lester Keasler, Kerry Keasler, Bill Keasler, Gordon Bartle, and Richard Light. Honorary Pallbearers are James Keasler, Anthony Jones, Justin Bellomy, Justin Light and Dalton Hall.
Interment will follow at Cardwell Cemetery.

Gary Byron Holt



Gary Byron Holt, age 56 of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. He was born June 7, 1955 in Lafe, AR., to Charles Raymond and Doris Jean McDonald Holt.
Gary was the owner of Holt Lawn Service. He loved life, and enjoyed outdoor activities such as golf, boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Charles Raymond Holt, and his brother, Terry Holt. He is survived by his mother, Doris McDonald Holt; his brother Mark Holt and his wife, Jessie, of Houston, TX., his sister, Melisa Calhoun of Bartlett, TN; and two nieces, MacKenzie Calhoun and Karah Calhoun, also of Bartlett. A private memorial service for the family will be held and there will be no visitation.
