James Edward Danley

 

James Edward Danley, 79, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro.

He was born November 7, 1932, the son of James and Nettie (Snow) Danley at Wardville, Oklahoma. James spent much of his growing up life in the Dixie community.

He graduated in 1953 from Dixie High School, and enlisted in the Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, James had top clearance in the rocket and missile defense systems. In 1954, he married Emma Dell Cooper.

In 1957, he joined the Jonesboro Police Department until 1960. In 1960, James became an Arkansas State Trooper, assigned to Washington County in Western Arkansas and stayed there until 1964.

James transferred to Greene County in 1964. He was selected as Arkansas State Trooper of the year in 1967. James completed 24 years of service and retired in 1984.

In 1988, James was elected Sheriff of Greene County, until 1996. James worked with the Special Olympics, and helped build an orphanage in South America.

James was affiliated with the Gainesville Church of Christ. He cared for the welfare, safety and well being of the people of his county and community.

James loved his Lord, wife, children, and grandchildren very deeply. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, and traveling.

James is survived by his wife, Emma Dell Danley, of the home; daughter, Angela Smith and her husband, Stan, of West Plains, Missouri; son, Jimmy Danley of Walnut Ridge; and brother, M.A. Danley of Kiowa, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amy Jernigan Horn and husband, Brent, of Springdale, Arkansas, Jerrod Jernigan of Poplar Bluff, James Cord Danley of Paragould, Landon Smith of West Plains; and great grandchildren, Gracie Horn, Cooper Horn, Fayth Emma Horn, all of West Plains, and Avery Danley of Paragould.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George Mills; and by a great grandson, Jackson Cooper Danley.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 5th, 1:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with L. R. Smith and Topper Killough officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Danley, Cord Danley, Jerrod Jernigan, Landon Smith, Brent Horn, Mike Archer, Cooper Horn and Avery Danley.

Louise M. Evans
 


Louise M. Evans, 68, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Belle Meade Healthcare.

She was born August 14, 1944, in Pocahontas, AR. to Johnnie and Mildred Dachs. Mrs. Evans was a retired RN and had worked for Home Health and for the Greene County Health Department. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Altar Society and loved her church.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Evans of the home; two brothers, Johnny Dachs and Charles Dachs; one sister, Carolyn Elmore; two stepsons, Mike Evans and Ken Evans and his wife, Benita, all of Paragould.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Jon Elmore, Kevin Elmore, Mike Evans, Ken Evans, Jimmy Stimel, and Danny Stimel will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.

Mrs. Ophelia Wilkins



Mrs. Ophelia Wilkins 80, of Paragould died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Wilkins was born August 25, 1932 in Lake City to the late Lester and Pearl Thompson. Mrs. Wilkins was a member of the Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.


Survivors include four sons, Robert Wilkins, Ricky Wilkins, Merle Wilkins and Earl Wilkins and wife Nancy all of Paragould; two daughters, Linda Gunn of Paragould and Lisa Mitchell and husband Don of Jonesboro; six brothers, Daryl Thompson of Rockford, Ill., Russel Thompson of North Carolina, Kenneth Thompson of Thayer, Mo., Deward Thompson of Caruthersville, Mo., Burl Thompson of La Flore and Veris Thompson of Maynard; three sisters, Wanda Guinn of Batesville, Kathy Cambren of Lake City and Jessie McCanless of Trumann; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.


Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Wilkins; three brothers: Edward Thompson, Lester Lee Thompson and John Robert Thomson.


Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6th, 2:00 p.m. at Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church at Paragould with the Revs. Wilburn Rigs and Rick Bolin officiating. Interment will follow at Clark’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
The family will receive visitors from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

George Louis Pappas 
 


George Louis Pappas, 86, of Beech Grove, AR, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Pappas was born September 21, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Hazel (Maddox) Pappas and Louis George Pappas. In 1935, when his father passed, Mr. Pappas moved to Greece with his Uncle Sam. In 1939, when WWII broke out, Pappas joined the Greek Guerillas and served for 5 years. At the age of 18, he transferred to the U.S. Army with a rank of 1st Lieutenant. In 1955, he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Master in business. He was a 32nd degree mason.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Ray) Pappas; Daughter, Charlene Belmont of Houston, TX; Daughter Cathy Stormes and husband Toby Stormes of Paragould, AR; Daughter Georgette Clay and husband Buddy Clay of Candler, NC; Daughter, Randi Matherne and husband Devin Matherne of Jacksonville, NC; Grandchildren, Spencer and Shana Ivey of Houston, TX, Eric and Kim Ivey of Magnolia, TX, Amanda and Matthew Saenz of Cypress, TX, Brandon Cue of Rockport, MO, Athena Condray and Ryan Stormes of Paragould, AR; Great-Grandchildren, Lane, Ryan, Brett, Jake and Emma.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathryn Williams; Son, Teddy Pappas; Daughter, Catherine Petrash and Grandson, Hunter Condray.

Mr. Pappas wished to be cremated with no services. However, the family will have a memorial service next spring, where he will be laid to rest with his father and son in St. Joseph, Missouri.

David Ronald Arthur Steward
 


David Ronald Arthur Steward, 25, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord, October 3, 2012. Born July 18, 1987 in Rockford, he was the son of Ronda Steward. On December 23, 2006, he married Kassondra Hopkins in Rockford. He was a graduate of Arkansas Northeastern College in Paragould, AR, where he completed his education on April 30, 2005.
David enlisted in the United States Army in 2007. He completed his Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA. After completing his Basic Training, David was stationed in Hawaii, where he was part of the 227th Infantry Regiment. In 2007, he served his country while deployed to Iraq, during the Iraq Gulf War.

His survivors include his wife, Kassondra; daughter, Kayeleigh Marie; sons, Michael Ryan Athony and Marcus Allen, all of the home; mother Ronda M. Steward; brother, Derek T. Steward; and sister, Cheyanne J. Steward, all of Rector, AR; grandparents, Ronald & Darla Steward; special grandma, Shirley Moore of Rockford; great-grandparents; Dorothy Welch of Rockford, Beulah Steward, and Norman (Merrita) Steward of Piggott, AR; uncle, Ronald A. Steward; aunts, Michelle (Wayne) Steward-Wheeler, and Sherry (Chuck) Wright all of Rockford; father-in-law, George (Angel) Hopkins, Jr., of Rector, AR; mother-in-law, Angie Ruth of TX; Kassondra's grandparents, George & Aline Hopkins of Marmaduke, AR; many cousins, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his great-grandpa, Arthur Welch, and his cousin, Michael A. Steward.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 13th, 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Marmaduke 1st Baptist Church. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m.. with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, AR.

Ted James Simpson


January 11, 1964 - October 4, 2012
 


Ted James Simpson 48, of Jonesboro, formerly of Paragould, died Thursday in Butler, Missouri.
Ted was a Christian and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Sue Simpson of Paragould; brothers, Jerry Todd Simpson, Timothy Mark Simpson, William Paul Simpson, and Phillip Lee Simpson all of Paragould

Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, October 8th, 1:30 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Holt, Brad Young, John Colley, Steve Hays, Ronnie Dean Montgomery and Keith Moore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Burlington Northern co-workers, childhood friends and family.

Joseph Henry Brien

 

Joseph Henry Brien, 85, Paragould, formerly of Portland, Maine, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his home in Paragould. He was born February 4, 1927 in Portland, Maine the son of the late Henry and Margret Gould Brien. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Brien and sister, Florence Leimux.
He was retired from the Air Force and was a lifetime member of American Legion and a member of the Sargeant Association of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife; Robbie Lee Brien of the home; brothers: Ernest and Gerald Brien; sister: Bertha Montgomery.

A public rosary will be held Sunday evening, October 7th, at Heath Funeral Home 6:00 until 6:30. The family will receive friends following the rosary from 6:30 until 8:00 Sunday. His life will be celebrated Monday, October 8th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Mike Sinkler officiating.

Richard Williams
 


Richard “Rick” Williams, 62, of Cardwell, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro.

Born January 16, 1950 in Paragould, he was a veteran, a former store manager at Mr. T’s and of the Baptist faith. Rick laughed and loved life. A sports lover, he was an avid Cardinals, Saints and Razorback fan. He also loved Mardi Gras.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Williams and Michael Williams, both of Collierville, Tennessee; and companion, Vicky Orphan of Cardwell. Rick is also survived by one brother, Bobby Williams of Rossville, Tennessee; one stepbrother, Mack Lovelady of Texas; one stepsister, Diane Greene of Eads, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Payton and Jeremy Williams.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Williams; and his mother, Freda Lovelady.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 13th, 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Kim Bridges officiating.

Shirley Mae White



Shirley Mae White, 72 of Paragould passed away October 4, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1940 in Paragould to John Henry and Ila Mae Osbon. She was a member of Beech Grove Church of the Nazarene. She loved her flowers, reading and sewing.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Gregory White, five sisters and a very special friend, Brenda Stanley.

She is survived by her husband, William Franklin White; two sons, Jimmy and Kenny White; four daughters, Freda Dodd, Ramona Metz, Marla Gozell and Angie Metz; three brothers, Jerry, Elgie and Charles Osbon; one sister, JoAnn Looney; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 8th, 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Kim Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Mildred Ilene Green
 


Mrs. Mildred Ilene Green, 87, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Green was born May 2, 1925 in Success, AR.. She was a homemaker and sales clerk. She was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.

She married her husband Moloy Green on October 26, 1940. He preceded her in death March 3, 2001.

She is survived by one daughter Judy and husband Richard Smith of Peach Orchard, AR.; one brother Joe Holland and wife Billy Sue of Saint Charles, MO.; two sisters Irene Berry of Success, AR., Erma Knowlton of Corning, AR.; two grandchildren Mark Smith and wife Carla of Peach Orchard, AR., Todd Smith and wife Tammy of Peach Orchard, AR.; five great-grandchildren Justin Smith and wife Lavela of Nebraska, Tiffany and husband Aaron Kirby of Corning, AR., Megan and husband Josh Murray of Blytheville, AR., Hali Smith and Kayla Smith of Peach Orchard, AR.; three great-great-grandchildren Karliegh Smith, Luke Murray and Hadley Murray.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents John Eli and Ora Bell (Coffey) Holland; four brothers Floyd Holland, Lloyd Holland, Leroy Holland, Johnny Holland and one sister Ila McConnell.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 8th, 11:00 a.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 8th, from 9:00 until the time of service.

Jerry  Ross Landreth

 

Mr. Jerry Ross Landreth, 68, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Landreth was born December 28, 1943 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a serviceman for Ferrell Gas Company and was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.

He married his wife Becky (Woods) Landreth on April 5, 1991. She survives.
Other survivors include one son Eddie Ross Landreth and wife Rhonda of Springdale, AR.; one daughter Laura Lynn Landreth of Dallas, TX.; two brothers Gale Landreth and wife Ann of Biggers, AR., Ernie Landreth of Fairdealing, MO.; one sister Laveta and husband Ronnie Burkett of Searcy, AR.; step-children Leland Nicholas Collins of South Bend, IN., Karla Ann Pryor of Kalamazoo, MI., Shawn Burgess of Corning, AR., Natalie Collins of Corning, AR.; thirteen grandchildren Michael Ross Landreth, Sierra Lynn Landreth, Michelle Cornell, Lindsey Nowicki, Erica Seifer, Brittney Seifer, Kaley Seifer, Leah Rachell Seifer, Rusty Collins, Cooper Collins, Sidney Pryor, Ian Pyror, Adrienne Pryor; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Ethel (Vandermart) Landreth; and one sister Lequita Johnson.

Gary Wayne Hefner

 

Gary Wayne Hefner, 66, of Clover Bend died Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born June 12, 1946 in Fontaine, AR to Robert Lee and Hazel Elsie Trotter Hefner.
He married Sandra Lee Fry May 27, 1998 in Clover Bend. He was a lifetime farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Donnie Joe Hefner.

Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Gary Dean Hefner of Harrisburg, Terry Lee Fears of Clover Bend, Shawn David Foster of Pocahontas; daughters, Christy Boothe of Sedgewick, Ashley Nicole Fears of Clover Bend; brothers, Robert J. Hefner of Maynard, Roy Stanley Hefner of Hillsboro, MO; sister, Patricia Lawson of Fontaine; grandchildren, Hillary Hefner, Allison Hefner, Jessica Boothe, Adam Boothe, Zayden Foster, Maggie Foster, Ivy Rose Hefner, Alexus Fears, Harper Fears, Seth Brooks, Camden Brooks; great-grandchild, Cameron Burns.

Visitation will be Monday evening, 5:00 until 8:00 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9th, 1:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Eddie Passmore officiating. Burial will be in Lorado Cemetery near Walcott.

Vernon William Wright
 


Vernon William Wright, 90, of Lafe went to be with the Lord and Savior Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his home.

He was a retired farmer and cemetery caretaker and a faithful member of Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Lora White Wright, and a sister, Thelma Cox.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Juanita Wright of the home; sons and daughters, Verlon and Pam Wright, and Keith and Vicky Wright of Lafe; two grandchildren, Bryan Wright of Lafe and Hanah Howard of Herrington, KS.; one great-grandson, Eli Leithoff of Herrington; brothers and sisters-in-law, O.C. and LaVera Wright of Hardy, Willis (Pete) and Becky Wright, Lonnie and Connie Wright, Jasper and Shirley Wright, and Dewayne and Bonnie Wright, all of Lafe, George and Juanita White of Glascow, KY., Thelbert and Francis Highfill, and Norma Crafton, all of Paragould; a host of nieces and nephews; and two loving, caring nurses, Vickie Moylan and Janice Judd.

Christine Roberta Cooper



Christine Roberta Cooper, 69, of Paragould passed away October 6, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born in Sikeston, MO on June 13, 1943 to Cecil and Florence Massey. She attended Grandview Freewill Baptist Church in Maynard, AR. Christine loved to crochet and she was a wonderful cook.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Robin Armstrong; two brothers, Jack and Charles Massey; three sisters, Thelma Gilbow, Margaret Buttrauma, and Dora Eakes.

She is survived by one son, Woodrow Cooper, Jr. of Maynard, AR; three daughters, Lola Nishimura of St. Louis, Mo, Ronda Wolff of Maynard, AR, and Tanya McCarty of Paragould; one brother, Phillip Massey of Pocahontas, AR; one sister, Margie Shipp of Hillsboro, MO; and 49 loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 10th, 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Roger Smith will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

Ida Dean
 


Ida Dean, 82, of Paragould passed away October 6, 2012 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Paragould.

Born February 20, 1930 in Blue Island, IL., Mrs. Dean was a homemaker and member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband A. C. Dean; two daughters Carolyn Loggains and Dena Gage both of Paragould; one son Curtis Thomas of Mt. Vernon, IL.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and best friend Betty Gould of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Alvin Thomas; son Terry Thomas; daughter Melissa McAffee; and grandchild Megan McAffee.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Haley Mildred Price

 

Mrs. Haley Mildred Price, 92, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Price was born October 28, 1919in the White Community, AR. She was a homemaker and also worked in a factory. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corning.

She is survived by three sons Lyndel Price and wife Melanie of Florrisant, MO., Danny Price and wife Sherry of Hoover, AL., Stanley Price and wife Carla of Corning, AR.; two brothers Dewayne Clarkson of Green Valley, AZ., Alvidean Clarkson of Charleston, MO.; sister Ann McDowell of Corning, AR.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Egbert Ellsworth "E.E." and Annie Elizabeth (Michles) Clarkson; three brothers Ezra Clarkson, Dallas Clarkson, Egbert Clarkson, Jr.; five sisters Velma Garrison, Vivian Morring, Ola May Clarkson, Rosaland Clarkson and Rhonda Clarkson.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 9th, 2:00 p.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in the Redenbo Cemetery in Corning.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 12:00 Noon until the time of service.

Tommye Jean Bryant Cole
 


Tommye Jean Bryant Cole, 83, of Brookland died Monday October 8, 2012 at her home. She was born January 19, 1929 in Paragould and had lived in Brookland for 5 years moving here from Mountain Home. She was owner and operator of the Black Powder Jacks and was a member of the Brookland Baptist Church.

Tommye was a very godly lady, loving mom, very caring person, loved her grandchildren, gardening and was a painter, great artist.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Jack R. Cole, son; Michael Douglas Cole, grandson; Michael Cole, three brothers, two sisters and her parents, W.C. and Lela Prince Bryant.

Survived by her son, Steven Cole (Joan) of Jonesboro, grandchildren, Abby Cole, Michael Cole, Lynn Wallace (Tia), Marie Barns (Robert), great grandchildren, Brandon Wallace, Elizabeth Wallace, Bethany Barns, Crystal Barns and Dawn Barns, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank the caregivers, JoAnn Treat, Sandra Moreno, Sara Jimenely and April Villegas and the Home Health nurse, Robin.

Graveside services will be Thursday October 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bill Becker officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

J.C. Clayton, 86 of Rector passed from this life to be in the presence of his Lord Tuesday October 9, 2012 at the Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould. J.C. was born April 1, 1926 to the late Edward and Myrtle (Copeland) Clayton in the Blooming Grove community. Mr. Clayton was of the Church of Christ faith, worked as a farmer, and for Wilbert Vault Company in Paragould.

J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Arliss Reed; and one brother Cecil Clayton.

Mr. Clayton is survived by his loving wife Oleta (Oliver) Clayton; three sons: Carroll Clayton and Linda of Boydsville, Danny Clayton of Highland, Arkansas, Gary and Minnetta Clayton of Jonesboro, one brother: Earl Clayton of Rector, eight grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren, his care givers at Greene Acres Nursing Home, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, October 11th, 6:00 until 7:00 at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. A celebration of his life will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home following visitation with Brother John Bradshaw officiating. Interment will be Friday, October 12th, 10:00 a.m. at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Joyce Clark, 77, of Mesa, AZ passed away October 12, 2012. She was born in Lafe, AR June 14, 1935.
She moved to Phoenix in 1962 to be with her two sisters. Joyce retired from Motorola after working in the wafer development area for over 35 years.

She is survived by her sister, Ida Terry of Phoenix; brother, Russell Murdoch of Cabot, AR; and her faithful K-9 companion, Darby.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, John Murdoch and mother, Euna Murdoch; sisters, Verna Price, Jean Brenner and brother, Hershel Murcoch.

Services will be private. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, Gardner Home, 1522 W. Myrtle Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.

Goldie Marie Hendley, 82 of Paragould, died Sunday at her residence. Goldie was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Strahl Glover; husband John Hendley; sister, Juanita Glover; brothers, Harold and Levi Glover

Survivors include daughters, Betty West(Herbert), Bonnie Foster(Charles), Linda Eaton(David), Donna Ervin and Sandy Murray (Clancy) all of Paragould, Dorothy Johnson(Ben) of Van Buren, MO, Becky Kimble (Tommy) of Harrisburg, AR; son, Danny Hendley (Charlotte) of Paragould; step-son, Max Hendley of Houston, TX; sisters Joann Howard of Paragould and Erma Foster of Poplar Bluff, MO; brothers Elmer Glover of Paragould and Jim Glover of Aurora, MO. Special niece, Connie Schofield of Poplar Bluff, MO. 22 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

John Excell Breckenridge, 77, of Paragould, died Monday at his residence. Excell was a retired electrician at Monroe Auto and of the Church of Christ belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Rose Breckenridge; son, John Excell Breckenridge, Jr.; brother, Roy Breckenridge; daughter, Nancy Stewart and Lisa Tarlton.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Breckenridge of the home; daughters, Cheryl Wayland of Paragould, Treva Ayers (Walt) of North Carolina and Beverly Booth of Caraway; sons Kenny Booth (Denise) of Weiner, Justin Booth of Little Rock and Shawn Booth (Teresa) of Jonesboro, 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning, October 16th, 9:30 until 11:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Lonnie Pyle officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

John Paul Patton, 64 of Lafe, Arkansas died Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1948 in Knobel, Arkansas, a retired general construction worker, he enjoyed the hills and was the only son of thirteen children.

Survivors include: his daughter, Dawala Patton-Streeter of Paragould, seven sisters, Bonnie Sisco, Opal Moore, Faye Sheldon, Reba Daniel, Betty “Skip” Brown, Diane Turner, Martha Saffell, three grandchildren, Bethany Ann-Marie Lewis, Alvin Michael-Paul Lewis, Jeremiah Ray Streeter, one great grandchild, Summer Grace Lewis, his companion , Bertha Howe of the home and his loving basset hound, Budweiser.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Paul D. Patton and Carrie J. Hartly “Granny” Patton, five sisters, Mollie Sue Patton, Pearlie Mae Patton, Mary Jane Morton and two half sisters, Hazel Whited and Sigle Ward.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, October 19th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Beech Grove Church of the Nazarene with Bro. J.E. McAnnally officiating. Burial will be private. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.

Dwaine Birmingham, 85 of Rector, died October 16, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Mr. Birmingham was born May 25, 1927 in Rector to Bill and Ruth Birmingham. He was a farmer, a mechanic and factory worker, he was of the General Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Dereta and Terry Palmer of Rector, a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Ginger Birmingham of Paragould, a sister, Betty June Wilmon of Cahokia, IL. Four grandchildren, Bret Palmer of Rector, Cassie Knight of Cherokee Village, Erica Nelson and Kyle Birmingham both of Bay, step grandchild, Carrie Kukkola of San Antonia, Texas, three great grandchildren, Jacob Nelson of Bay, Landen Palmer of Rector and Madelyn Knight of Cherokeee Village, three step great grandchildren, Dominique Coln of Rector, Morgan Kukkola of San Antonia, Texas, Baily Kukkola of San Antonia, Texas.

He was preceded in death by: an infant son, Karry Birmingham, parents, Bill and Ruth Birmingham, a brother, Billy Birmingham, a nephew, Danny Birmingham and a step grandchild, Shane Miller.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the First General Baptist Church in Rector. Funeral services will be Friday, October 19th, 10:30 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Marston Carpenter and Ron Byrd officiating, burial to follow in the Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Ruby D. Marshall
 


Ruby D. Marshall the daughter of Rev. Jesse E. and Lula Wilkinson Pratt was born in Rose Bud, Arkansas, August 2, 1925 and passed away at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab October 16, 2012 at the age of 87 years.

Ruby was a retired school nurse at Green County Tech schools for 23 years. She retired from that position in 1987 and she had worked as a Deputy Tax Assessor for White County in Searcy, Arkansas before moving to Paragould in 1961. She attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was a member of the Grace United General Baptist Church of Paragould. She enjoyed helping people who were less fortunate than she was.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Jesse and Lula Pratt, a sister Imogene Pratt and a brother-in-law-brother Cecil Oliver.
She is survived by a sister Marjorie Oliver of Rose Bud, two nieces Betty and Jim Stalnaker of North Little Rock and Carol Spradlin of Quitman, great nephews Allen Dixon and Paul and Doris Spradlin and great niece Jane and Wes Ballard, great great nieces Christiana Dixon, Amber and Chandler Swan, Courtney Dixon and Ally Ballard besides other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 19th, 1:00 p.m. in the Family Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Michael Morrison officiating.

Lucy Ann Pullam

 

Lucy Ann Pullam, 60, of Paragould, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at North Metro Hospital, Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She was born August 1, 1952, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Robert and Georgia Warner. She was a waitress and of the Baptist faith. Lucy enjoyed writing poetry.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert J. Warner III, Clifford Warner and Thomas Clifton.

Survivors include one son, Roger Dale Pullam, Jr. and two daughters, Catherine Brannon and Cynthia Pullam, all of Paragould. She is also survived by one brother, Melvin Clifton of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Marie Alls of Pocahontas; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 24th, 11:30 a.m., at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Rector. Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.until the procession leaves at 10:45 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Roger Pullam, Jr., Terry Brannon, Roger Brannon, Kelly Warner, Jim Alls and Michael Alls.

Lloyd Byron Smith
 


Lloyd Byron Smith, 83, of Knobel passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at his home.

Born November 13, 1928, at Knobel, Mr. Smith was a retired farmer who served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and playing with grandchildren. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Peach Orchard Pentecostal Church.

On April 17, 1948, he was united in marriage to Clevagene Wooldridge Smith. She survives.

Other survivors are three daughters, Marcia Lynn Woodhouse of Knobel, Gail Rene (Jeff) Allison of Mount Juliet, TN., and Lisa Dawn (Michael) Jarman of Paragould; a brother, Bobby Joe Smith of Surprise, AZ.; four grandchildren, Christie Michelle (Greg) Watson of Franklin, TN., Matthew Blake (Leslie) Dodd of Corning, Lauren LB Fraine of Mount Juliet and Scarlett Olivia Jarman of Paragould; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Victoria Watson, Zachery Gage Dodd and Alec Jude Dodd.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Nathan Smith Sr.; mother, Mary Lou Charlton Smith Hill; and two brothers, James Lewis Smith and Mark Nathan Smith Jr.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral services will be Sunday October 21st, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Leland Jim Dement and Keith Wooldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens at Paragould.

Terry Gene Clay, Sr., 68, of Lafe, died Tuesday, October 22, 2012, at his home. He was born December 26, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of the late Douglas Arthur and Darlene Elizabeth Newton Clay. Terry spent most of his working life at Rockford Products and enjoyed motorcycles and hot rods.

Marion Jean Foster, 79, of Paragould, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

She was born December 11, 1932, in Hornbeak, Tennessee, and was a cook at Paragould Country Club. Jean was a dedicated and faithful member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin (Charlotte) Foster and Bill Foster, all of Paragould; one daughter, Kathy (J.R.) Jackson of Ravenden Springs; and two brothers, Charles Simpson of Paragould, and Lonnie Simpson of Jonesboro. She is also survived by seven sisters, Irene King of Palmyra, Illinois, Vergie Johnson, Shirley Sykes and Martha Cavitt, all of Paragould, Peggy Willen of O’Fallon, Missouri, Monette Johnson and Elaine Thoresen, both of Paragould; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Foster in 1984; her parents, Herman and Evelyn Simpson; one son, James Foster; and one grandson, Tim Foster.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 25th, 10:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Pickney officiating. Burial will follow at Bond Cemetery, Knobel.

Joe Kenneth Adcock



Mr. Joe Kenneth Adcock, 85 of Paragould, Arkansas died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born February 25, 1927 in Yuma, Arizona to Mr. Joseph Kindred Adcock, he had graduated from the Life Bible College in Glendale, California in 1955 and became a minister. Mr. Adcock was adopted into an Indian tribe where he was given the name “straight arrow” and was made an honorary chief. Mr. Adcock made several mission trips to the Philippines, Ecuador, Jamaica and Mexico. He enjoyed his children’s ministry and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Zula Adcock of the home; one son: Jerry Adcock and wife Sherry of Livingston, Texas; two daughters: Linda Carter and husband Grant of Bloomington, California and Carol Coen and husband John of San Jose, California; seven grandchildren: Tamala Klement, Randall Carter, Jason Adcock, Steve Adcock, Cari Stewart, Emily Eisenberg and Aimee Coen; eight great-grandchildren: Christian Klement, Genna Klement, Makenzie Carter, Tytus Carter, Madelyn Adcock, Megan Adcock, Micaylah Stewart and Chelsey Stewart. Mr. Adcock also leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by one son: Jimmy Donald Adcock; two sisters: Edith Washum and Myrtle Moore.

Edmund Earl Huffines
 


Edmund Earl Huffines, son of the late Wayne and Ethel Haire Huffines, was born March 19, 1926 in Hornersville, MO, and passed away October 21, 2012 at Greene Acres Nursing Home, Paragould AR at the age of 86 years. He was married to Elwanda Edwards on July 15, 1950 in Piggott, AR. Mrs. Huffines preceded him in death on June 27, 2011.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include, son, Bob Huffines and wife Ima of Paragould, AR; daughter: Cheryl Clark and husband Randy of Paragould, AR; sister: Lora Mae Gates of West Memphis, AR; four grandchildren: Hannah Huffines, Heather Huffines, Becky Smith, Sheila McKay; and two great-grandchildren: Chance Smith, Tiffany Batchelor. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, George and Curtis Huffines; sister, Faye Tucker; and great-grandson, Braxton Smith.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 24th, at Senath McDaniel Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lulu Cemetery, Senath, Mo.

Edwin Neal Ladymon, 49, of Marmaduke went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012.

He was born April 18, 1963, to Donald and Francine Ladymon of Clarkton, Mo., who survive.

On March 17, 1989, Neal married Dana Whiteside of Campbell, Mo. They are the parents of Molly Jean of the home.

Neal is also survived by a brother, Milton (Betty) Ladymon of Clarkton; a sister, Karen (Dennis) Rineheart of Jonesboro; father- and mother-in-law, Dottie and Kenneth Whiteside of Paragould; sisters-in-law, Kristi Thornton (Jay) of Campbell and Michelle Burnett of Jonesboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was born August 31, 1962, to Bob and Jean Wilson. Johnna loved her dogs and working in her yard with her flowers. She also loved going to flea markets and yard sales.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her significant other, Maurice Slatton and stepson, Alston Slatton; a brother, Rick Wilson of Jonesboro; two uncles, Jerry (Lucy) Wilson of Jonesboro and Gary (Gretna) Wilson of North Carolina; and nephews, Cody and Connor Wilson.

She is survived by four sons: Terry Pendergrass, Charles Pendergrass, Herman Pendergrass, and Randy Pendergrass; two daughters: Pamela Burrows, Vicky Peterson; two brothers: Herman Miller, Jerry Miller; one sister: Margret Martin, 14 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Billy Gene White, Sr., 82 of Paragould, died Wednesday at his residence.

Billy Gene spent his life doing what he loved, which was teaching children. He was a Superintendent, Principal, and Teacher.

Billy Gene started teaching in Arkansas in 1960. He moved to Missouri in 1964 and continued teaching until he retired from Cuba Schools in 1966 with 40 plus years teaching. Billy Gene continued teaching as a substitute teacher until 2003 when he and Sarah moved back to their farm in Paragould, AR.

Billy Gene served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Billy Gene loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church in Paragould.

Billy Gene was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32-Degree Mason. He was a Past Master of Cuba Masonic Lodge #312 and was a lifetime member of the Paragould Masonic Lodge #398. He was a member of Paragould Chapter, which joined with Olive Chapter #147, Jonesboro, AR.

Billy Gene was preceded in death by his beloved parents Gene W. White and Mildred Martha Peery White

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sarah Elizabeth and: Father of Timothy Gene (wife Helen) and James Edwin Grandfather of Billy Gene II (fiance' Amber), Timothy Gene Rivera II, and Sarah Elizabeth II Great Grandfather of Kileigh Mischelle and Taylor Jade Brother of Jimmy Tom (wife Mary Jane) Uncle of Chad Allen, Jonathan Wayne, and Tracy Scott Great-uncle of Colby, Mallory, Shelby, Parker, and Brody

Thomas "Chub" Allen Jackson, 62, of Marmaduke passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Rector Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born April 17, 1950 to Fletcher and Ella Louise Jackson. Thomas was of Baptist faith. He loved to mow yards, ride his four-wheeler, and enjoyed time with his cats.

Preceding him in death are his parents and three step-brothers, Lawrence, Jimmy, and Dalton Jackson.

Survivors include three brothers, Howard Jackson and Bobby Jackson of Searcy, AR, and Ralph Jackson of Brookland, AR; four sisters, Betty Brewer of Oak Grove Heights, Joan Ray of Louisville, AR, Ella Shirley Holland of Lafe, AR, and Alice Joyce Messer of Paragould; and one step-sister, Helen Trevebough of Fultz, IL.

Mr. Leo Houchin



Leo Houchin, age 70, of Paragould passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He was born February 16, 1942 at Paneway to Wilburn and Ora Lee Cooper Houchin. He was retired from Osceola Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Finch Baptist Church.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hettie McKenzie Houchin; a brother and four sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Vicky Hickman of St. Louis, MO, Carolyn Russell of Enid, OK and Donna Kirby of Paragould; eight grandchildren, Brandon Hickman, Jeff Hickman, Brittany Mathis, Justin Ward, Sarah Russell, Meghan Russell, Brandi Sparks and Hunter Bowers; five great grandchildren; a sister, Opal Ray; and a brother, Steven Ray.

Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 28th, 2:00 .pm. at the Finch Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.

James S. Crow, Jr., 84, of Lafe, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Delaplaine. He was born December 26, 1927 in Stonewall, Arkansas, the son of the late James S., Sr. and Grace Ann McNew Crow. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Rosa Crow, Jackie Crow and Ada Crow, two children, two grandchildren and a brother, Patrick Henry Crow. James joined the Marines when he was a young man and later joined the Army. He was a POW during the Korean War and retired from the armed forces after 23 years of service. He then taught Culinary College for the Armed Forces. He was a Master Chef and became a Master Barber in 1970. He was of Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his children: Grace Anderson of New Hampshire; Carol Roberts, Betty (David) Hendrix, all of Marmaduke, James, III. (Linda) Crow of Paragould, Pam (James) Smith, Kathy (Ellis) Henson, Renee (Chesley) Isom, all of Lafe, Vernon Crow, of Virginia; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Hendrix and family, Walnut Ridge; niece Henrietta Williams.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at the Heath Colonial Chapel, Tuesday, October 30th, 10:00 a.m. with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Lafe. Willa Mae McPherson, 81, Paragould, died Friday, October 26, 2012, at her home. She was born May 23, 1931, in Fender, Arkansas the daughter of the late Ras and Helen Forrester Leathers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold McPherson and daughter, Cynthia Kappelman. She was a homemaker and a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons: Dennis McPherson of Paragould, Eddie Kappelman of Flint, Michigan; daughter: Sharon Lyons of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren: Kevin Kappelman, Brandon and Brooke McPherson, Dustin, Haley, Noah, and Hanna Kappelman; great grandchildren: Marley and Toren McPherson.

Her life will be celebrated Monday, October 29th, 1:00 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Royce Boling officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Wesley Jewel Meredith, 86 of Paragould, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was born November 14, 1925 in Arbyrd, Missouri; he was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the V.F.W. a Mason, a retired cement finisher and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Meredith of the home, one son Dan (Francesca) Meredith of Paragould, one brother, Edgar Wayne Meredith of Jonesboro, Arkansas, one sister, Nadine Faulkner of St. Louis, Missouri and one grandchild Jennifer of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, Aaron and Hattie Meredith and two brothers, Vernon and Gene Meredith.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 29th, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Warbington officiating.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.H. Kappelman and her sister, Wandel West.

Arthur Jackson Dalton
 

Arthur Jackson Dalton of Marmaduke, Arkansas died October 26, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital. He was born May 18, 1918 in Mankato, Minnesota and raised in South Texas. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a Master Mason and a member of the General Baptist Church in Marmaduke, Arkansas.

Proceeding Mr. Dalton in death was his beloved wife: Pat Dalton, his parents: Frank and Olive (Fansler) Dalton along with one sister, Marilyn Kahonek.

Surviving Jack are three sons: Richard Evans of Santa Rosa, California, John (Carmel) Dalton of Woodland, California and Dave Dalton of South Carolina, one sister, Jinny Brown of Brenham, Texas and two nieces in Texas along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 29th, 3:00 p.m. at the Gainesville Cemetery with Marston Carpenter and Kenneth Hargraves officiating.

Patricia Julie Poteet, 72, of Paragould, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro. Patricia was born to Lawrence and Alvera (Perreira) Moody February 20, 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mrs. Poteet was a member of the Lake Street Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her stepmother, Grace (Bradley) Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Glenn and Sharron Ewing; eight brothers, Saul, Cecil, Jim, Charley, Bill and Gene Jones, Paul Shaw and Vernon Weaver; three sisters, Eunice Jones, Ida Holcomb and Pauline Tinsley.

Mr. Forkum was born April 01, 1935 in Paragould, AR to the late Henry and Evie Walker Forkum. He was a member of the Magnolia Church of Christ and was retired from the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas after 40 years of service.

Survivors include his wife: Janelle S. Forkum, Columbus MS; one daughter Rhonda Slatton (Dallas), Columbus, MS; two grandchildren Sierra Slatton (Dallas) and Cheyenne Frayser (Michael); four brothers, and one sister.

Blake Matthew Howerton, 27, of Paragould, died Monday, October 29, 2012, in Paragould. He was born July 6, 1985 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was a workforce specialist and web developer and a member of East Side Baptist Church. Blake graduated from ASU with a Music Education Degree and also sang with a gospel quartet.

Suvivors are his parents, Lane and Audra Howerton, of the home; maternal grandparents Diane and Michael Lopez of Goodland, Wisconsin, Curtis and Barbara Dwyer of Paragould, Lucille and Don Nickel of Green Valley, Arizona, and Lois Walker; Paternal grandmother: Wanda Howerton of Paragould; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leon Howerton, Curtis and Lula Howerton, Hershel and Lucille Flanery, Henry Walker and Kenneth Engel, Dennis and Roosevelt Dwyer.

Jerry Ann Shearer, 63 of Paragould went to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital as she was surrounded by her family.

She was born January 29, 1949 to the late Ray and June (Mathis) Pennie in Mounds, Arkansas. She loved spending time with her family and working in her flower garden. She was a bus driver for the Greene County School District.

Preceding her in death was her parents and a son: Bradley Shearer.

She is survived by her husband: Jackie Shearer, three daughters: Stacy Steele and husband: Wade, Mickie Shearer and Stephanie Patterson all of Paragould, four grandchildren: Corporal Blake Shearer, Brynne Steele, Carson Clark and Marley Patterson, two brothers: Larry Pennie of Paragould and Gary Pennie

Scottie Sue (Noel) Stevens, age 77, of Benton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. She was born November 26, 1934 in Halliday, Arkansas to the late Purvis Noel and Marie (Hampton) Noel. She was baptized in 1948 at New Liberty Baptist Church in Green County, Arkansas in a pond in Marmaduke, Arkansas and has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Benton since March of 1957. Mrs. Stevens retired as business manager for the Benton School District.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty years, Leroy Stevens; her daughter, Susan Wilson and husband, John of Benton; three grandchildren, Julie Bittle and husband, Matthew of Benton, Christie Pinney and husband, Dr. Ted Pinney of Bryant, Aaron Wilson and wife, Suzanne of West New York, New Jersey; her six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tatum Pinney, Jackson and Mollie Bittle, and Chelsea and Bryce Wilson; her sister, Judy Pilz and husband, Jerry of Branson, Missouri; her special cousin, Lou Ann Kingston of Benton, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, November 5th, 10:00 a.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Dr. Rick Grant officiating with interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Born December 1, 1927, at Walcott, AR. Miss Jackson taught school at Greene County Tech for 41 years. She was a member of Warren’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Robbie Cooper of Paragould, Arkansas went to her Heavenly Home Wednesday, October 31, 2012. She was born February 11, 1934 in Scobey, Mississippi and graduated from Lake City High School in Lake City, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Southern Baptist College (now Williams Baptist College) in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a licensed Nurses Aid at Belle Mead Nursing Home where she resided at the time of her passing.
She was a long time member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Robbie Allison; two husbands, James W. “Jay” Williams who passed away in 1972 and JC Cooper who passed away in 2008; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her two daughters, Edna Fay (Williams) Rittenberry of Ontario, Oregon and Brenda Lee (Williams) Holcomb of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two aunts; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, November 5th, 1:00 p.m. at Beech Grove Cemetery followed by services at 2:00 p.m. Presiding Minister will be Bro. Jay Hicks, Jr.
