Jack Barrow , 72, of Paragould , died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 , at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould .
He was born Aug. 31, 1931 , in Stanford . He was the retired owner/operator of North Side Auto Sales, a U.S. Army veteran and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mollie Barrow; one son, Rodger Barrow ; three sisters, Billie Sue Howdeshell , Omia Drewselia Barrow and Agnes Stroud ; and one brother, Oliver Barrow .
Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Barrow of Paragould; one son, Ronnie Barrow of Paragould; four daughters, Pam Palmison of Colleyville, Texas, Karen Moore of Branson, Mo., Ruth Wheelan of Catawissa, Mo., and Rhonda King of Paragould; one brother, Roy Barrow of Paragould; two sisters, Sally Holifield of Rector and Mary Lou Barrow of Bristol, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Grace Vivian Taylor of Paragould; nine grandchildren, Kristie Price, Kari McGhee, Dameon Rowe, Mollie Palmison, Mike Barrow, Mitch Barrow, Laura Sue Short, Chase Crews and Jordan Crews; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Heath Colonial Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Harris and the Rev. Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.

William Edward Wade , 76, of Jonesboro , died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 , at his home. He was born April 21, 1927 , in Clay County . He lived in Jonesboro for 48 years. He was a shipping clerk and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Paragould .
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Lyles Wade ; his parents, Walter E. and Ola Mae Berry Wade; and one brother, Donald Wade .
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Rebecca Wade of Jonesboro ; one stepson and step daughter-in-law, Larry and Beverly Lyles of Thayer , Mo. ; and two grandchildren, Tanner and Holly Wade .

Sandra Kay Qualls
Sandra Kay Qualls , 61, of Lafe, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 , at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro .
She was born June 21, 1942 , in Baltimore , Md. She was a retired civil service clerk and typist. She was a member of St. Mary 's Catholic Church, a board member of the original Paragould Habitat for Humanity and worked federal and state elections for 15 years. She was also a board member of the Catholic Diocesan Council of Women for 20 years and a member of St. Mary 's Altar Society, serving twice as president.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore John and Lorraine Mary Cyr Kraus.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh L. Qualls of Lafe; two sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh " Sandy " III and Holly Ann Qualls of Lee Vining, Calif., and Maj. Ted Donald and Christine Qualls of Columbus, Ga.; three half brothers, Robert Parkos of Fresno, Calif., Steven Parkos of Bailey, Colo., and Hughie Hughlin of Cucamonga, Calif.; five grandchildren, Ashley Blythe Qualls of Seattle, Wash., Maxwell Hugh Qualls and Jackson Qualls, both of Lee Vining, Rory Ted Qualls of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Hunter Qualls of Columbus, Ga.; and two aunts, Dorothy Ann Doyle of Lakewood, Calif., and Marianne Cyr of Lake Havaso City, Ariz.

Burles Raleigh Scobey, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2003 , in Hot Springs Village . He was born in Beech Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Viola Scobey; three brothers, Artie, Lavern, and Hoyt Scobey ; and one granddaughter, Suzanne White .

Joe Wayne Thompson , 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 , at the Methodist University Hospital .
He was born Aug. 17, 1926 , in Bucoda , Mo. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Senath American Legion Post and a member of the First Baptist Church .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elizabeth McDole Thompson ; and one son, Douglas Thompson .

Bobby V. Timmons
Bobby V. Timmons , 67, of Paragould , died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 , at his home. He was born in Itawamba County , Miss. He lived in Monette before moving to Jonesboro where he lived much of his life.
He moved to Paragould 15 years ago. He was a founder of Creative Multigraphics Printing in Jonesboro , and operated the company several years before his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monette and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Ila Waddle Timmons; one sister, Ruth Nichols ; and one brother, Edward "Buck" Timmons.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Malcolm Timmons of the home; two sons, Todd Timmons of St. Mary's, Ga., and Mark Timmons of Naples, Italy; one step-son, Mark Malcolm of Little Rock; one step-daughter, Julie Lawrence of Valrico, Fla.; two sisters, Serena Jones and Doris Nall, both of Jonesboro; three brothers, Gene Timmons, Harold Dean Timmons, and Sonny Timmons, all of Jonesboro; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at the family home.

The body was donated to The Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock .

He was born April 4, 1909 , near Cardwell , Mo. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He had lived in Piedmont for the past 26 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church .
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Myracle Seaborn of Cardwell , Mo.
Survivors include two children, John Seaborn of Winchester , Mo. , and Sarah Duncan of Piedmont ; two stepchildren, Florcie Trivett of Cedar Creek , Mo. , and Robert Garrett of St. Louis , Mo. ; one sister, Ann Herman of St. Louis ; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

had lived in Jonesboro most of his life.

Alice Butler Dillin, 84, of Searcy, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 , at her home.
She was born March 8, 1919 in Alicia . She was a charter member of Westside Church of Christ and a graduate of Swifton High School . She served as senior vice commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary; president of the Central Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered more than 2,500 hours of service; and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Russell Dillin , and her parents, Elza and Susan Smith Butler.
Survivors include one son, George Edward Dillin of Searcy; four daughters, Jane White of North Little Rock , Susie Keesling of Little Rock , Gracie Pace of Searcy, and Elizabeth "Betty" Jones of Little Rock ; one sister, Elizabeth Dobyns of Searcy; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was born Sept. 22, 1925 , in Leachville. He was a retired minister with the Southern Baptist Churches. He was the former mayor of Marmaduke and the founder of Booth & Sons Appliance. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Booth ; two brothers, Harvey and Alvis Booth ; three sisters, Wilma Summers, Jewell Richardson and Wanda Bridges ; and one son-in-law, Major Ken Beaton .

He recently served as pastor of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in north Jonesboro before resigning due to failing health. He was a member of the Temple Missionary Baptist Church of Jonesboro, a U.S. Army veteran and a 1951 graduate of Greene County Tech High School .

Goldie Evalyn Bell , 78, of Springfield , Ill. , died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 , at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1924 , in Alicia . She had been employed by Allis Chalmers from 1944 until 1946 as a forklift operator. In the early 1950s, she managed a restaurant in Springfield and later worked for 10 years at Rutledge Manor as a nurse's aide. She was also employed by various other nursing homes in Springfield . She was a lifelong member of the Churches of Christ and a member of Clearlake Church of Christ since 1966.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover T. Bell; her parents, Raymond and Ethel Bertha Bobbitt Shreeves; one brother, Willis A. Shreeves ; and one sister, Virginia M. Shreeves .

She was born June 3, 1902 , in Nettleton.
At 61, she graduated from Arkansas State College with a bachelor of science in education and went on to teach second grade at Southside Elementary until her retirement in May, 1972. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse at one time.
She was a longstanding member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women's Circle and a member of the Virginia Ward Sunday School Class. She was a 50-year member of the National Organization, PEO, Chapter DM of Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.P. He was preceded in death by his parents, Effie Pauline Stout and Herbert Charles English , and one grandchild Thomas English .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis Bruce and Alice Amick Bruce ; the father of her children, Harold Hoey ; one brother, Melvin Bruce ; one sister, Edna Cooper ; one half-sister, Zella Wilson ; and three grandchildren, Patrick Clayton , Roger Clayton and Kelly Rainwater Stromes.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Clayton of Concord and Judy Rainwater and Debbie Malding, both of Peach Orchard; one son, Jim Hoey of Peach Orchard; two brothers, George Bruce of Royal and Bill Bruce of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home of Corning.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Thomas Evans Puckett
Thomas Evans Puckett , 77, of Madera , Calif. , died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 , at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1926 , in Corpus Christi , Texas . He was formally of Paragould and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Blanche Puckett ; and two sisters, Mary E. Stanley and Mildred Puckett .
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Puckett, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Butch White of Lafe, and June and James Lilly of Raleigh, N.C.; four granddaughters, Debbie Bailey and Amy Samons, both of Paragould, Leslie White of Lafe, and Susan Wyatt of Raleigh, N.C.; one grandson, Jason Lilly of Raleigh, N.C.; three great-granddaughters, Kasey and Taylor Bailey of Paragould and Megan Wyatt of Raleigh, N.C.; and one great-grandson, Ryan White of Lafe.
Bill Arnold
Bill Arnold , 77, of Peach Orchard, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 , at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Knobel and was a farmer. He was in the U.S. Army and served in Korea .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Arnold and a great-grandson, Caleb Smart .
Survivors include his wife, Eula Arnold of the home; three sons, Donnie and Eugene Arnold, both of Knobel, and Michael Arnold of Corning; four daughters, Mona Keeling and Frances Bowen, both of Peach Orchard, Sandra Williams of Corning, and Tammy Arnold of Knobel; two brothers, Ronnie Arnold of Richwood, Mo., and Jimmy Arnold of California; four sisters, Imogene Sawyers of Kennett, Mo., Barbara Arnold of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Alice Lowoski of Washington, and June Arnold of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hosea Cemetery in Peach Orchard with the Rev. Gary Holcomb officiating and under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home of Corning.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Richard Cecil Ladyman
Richard Cecil Ladyman , 91, of Rector, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 , at Piggott Community Hospital .
He was born Feb. 22, 1912 , in Clay County . He was a farmer and a lifelong member of the community. He was a deacon of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rector for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorene Dortch Ladyman ; two sons, Charles Terry Ladyman and Thomas James Ladyman ; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Lavern Rogers Ladyman of Piggott Nursing Home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Paula Ladyman of Rector and Donald and Retha Ladyman of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Glenda Ladyman and Dean Pillert of Little Rock; one sister, Elizabeth Futtrell of Rockford, Ill.; three grandchildren, Cindy Dickinson of Rockford, Ill., Janet Fair of Rector, and Jennifer Hobbs of Conway; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer Amos and Heather Johnson, both of Paragould, and Jacob Pillert of Little Rock; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Fair of Rector, Morgan Amos, Madison Amos, and Tanner Baker, all of Paragould, and Ashley Dickinson of Rockford, Ill.; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Kenny Burns officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector under the direction of Irby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Larry Catt , Don Kirklin , Don Huckabay , Tommy Huggins , Jerry Dodd and Jimmy Dodd .
Honorary pallbearers are Lonzo Parrish and Leroy Cruce .
Visitation will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
