Beatrice Crowell



Beatrice Crowell, 93, formerly of Egypt and Trumann passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.

She was born July 25, 1917 in Richwoods to the late Ewing and Savannah Dobbs.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Crowell was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Trumann.

Survivors include her children, Reba Ballard McQuay of Paragould, Mavis Durham of Trumann, Dale Crowell of Jonesboro, Randall Crowell of Bono and Norman Crowell of Batesville; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Crowell; a daughter, Beulah Lauder; two brothers, Ivan Dobbs and Chester Dobbs.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 6th, 10:00 a.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Darrell Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5th, 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Terry Ballard, Jimmy Lauder, David Crowell, Brad Crowell, Tim Arnold, Jason Durham, Brandon Crowell and Brian Crowell and as honorary pallbearers, Dr. Revel Porter, Dr. Dwight Williams and the staff at Greene Acres Nursing Home.

Louise Inez Shook
 


Louise Inez "Billie" Stephens Shook, 83 of Paragould passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born June 2, 1927, Mrs. Shook was a retired federal employee and a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Hattie Virginia Byrn Stephens; daughter Sandra Faloney; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her husband, Ray Shook of the home; daughter, Valerie Martin of Porterville, CA; sisters, Pearl Howell of Paragould, Maxine Hinson of Jonesboro and Jo Ann Roush of Columbia, IL., five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 7th, 1:00 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. David Swift officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy & J. R. Gore, Ray Shook, Kraig & Darrell Peters and James Martin.

Lucille Smith Moody
 



Lucille Moody, 89, of Paragould AR, formerly of the Lone Oak community of Blytheville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould AR.

Born in Russellville, AL to the late Dennis Arthur Smith and Lizzie Pearl Phillips Smith, she was a homemaker who loved to garden, sew, cook and work in her yard. She was also a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Beech Grove, AR and a longtime member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Blytheville, AR.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Moody and a son, Curtis Neal Moody.

Mrs. Moody leaves one daughter, Eunice Needham and her husband, James of Paragould, her grandchildren, Jeff N. Moody and his wife, Carolyn of Jonesboro, James Needham Jr. of Paragould, Marty A. Needham and his wife, Angie of Paragould and Glenn R. Moody and his wife, Deborah of Dell, AR. and seven great grandchildren, Emily Rose Moody, Jenny Brooke Needham, Allison Renee Moody, Seth Curtis Moody, Carter Neal Moody, Tristen Wright and Katie Raelynn Needham.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 8th, 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Hicks of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Beech Grove, AR and the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. of Lone Oak Baptist Church in Blytheville, AR officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Saturday evening, May 7th, 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. The family requests any memorials to the Cornerstone Baptist Church or the Lone Oak Baptist Church.

Ernest Eugene Batten
 


Ernest Batten, 76 of Rector passed away May 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1934 to the late Henry and Beatrice (Huckabay) Batten in Rector, Arkansas.

In addition to his parents two infants preceded him in death, a brother: J.W. Batten and three sisters: Hazel Wilson, Wanda Jones and Mary Parker.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda (Nelson) Batten, five sons and their spouses: Ernie and Cindy Batten of Arizona, Tim and Denese Batten of Kentucky, Danny and Gina Batten of Arizona, Jody and Nicole Batten of California and Stephen Batten of Utah, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother: Charles Batten of Lafe , a sister: Shirley Abney of Michigan and a very special companion for nine years: his dog, Peaches.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 11th, 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Ernie Rinks and Tom Payne officiating. Interment will be at the Ramer’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

James William Robinett, Sr.
 


James William Robinett, Sr., 83, of Lafe, passed away Thursday, May 05, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

Born August 27, 1927 in Thayer, MO. to the late Redmon and Margrett Robinett.

He is also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by wife, Margaret Robinett of the home, son, Jim Robinett of Poplar Bluff, MO., and two daughters, Kathy Meeks of Pocahontas and Belinda Ellis of Gainesville, AR., five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and brother, Jack Robinett of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9th, 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Dale Snyder and Eric Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Harry L. Gramling
 

 

Harry L. Gramling, 94, passed away May 6, 2011 at Walcott, Arkansas.

He was born October 12, 1916 to I.D. "Doom" Gramling and Betha (Bradley) Gramling.

He loved his family, raising horses and tending to his animals.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Grace (Dunnam) Gramling, three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Walter and Lonald Gary Gramling, one daughter, Cheryl (Gramling) Bryant, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one niece and two great nephews.

Graveside services were held at Caldwell Cemetery at Lorado, AR.

Norma Jane Dollins
 


Norma Jane Dollins, born April 15, 1937, passed away May 7, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother and two sisters.

She is survived by husband, Gerald Lewis Dollins; daughter, Joan (Joanie) Dollins; five brothers, John Randall, Evert Randall, Jerry Randall, Paul Randall and Bobby Randall; two sisters, Roseann Andis and Ruby Fritz; grandchildren, Adam Watson, Ashley Watson, Jamie Rouse, Chelsea Hearns, Chasity Dollins; great-grandchildren, Alex Watson, Lexi Warren, Isaiah Rouse and Emileigh Watson.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church in Oak Grove. Following the memorial service, there will be a potluck dinner at Joanie’s house, located at 539 E. Emerson Street.

Mary Kay Moseley, 69, Paragould, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 8, 2011at St Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born October 4, 1941 in Paragould the daughter of the late Glen Earl and Mary Eileen McCoy Moseley. She is survived by her aunt, Marcia, cousins, Sandra and Diane and niece, Mary Kay. She loved golfing. No public services.

Robert Dale Barrett
 


Robert Dale Barrett, 67, Paragould, passed away Sunday May 8, 2011 in Memphis, TN. He was born May 11, 1943 in Lake City, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Millard "Mitch" Leslie Barrett. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his sons: Kenny Barrett and Timmy Barrett of Hornlake, MS; mother: Rachel A. Barrett of Paragould; brother: Leslie "Les" Barrett of Paragould, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11th, 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel. The celebration of his life will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. the Heath Colonial Chapel, with Reverend Dennis Scudder officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Versie Mae Carter


Versie Mae Carter 96, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Greene Acres Nursing Home, Paragould.
She was born August 29, 1914 in Bay to the late James and Della Mae Morgan. She was seamstress at a drapery factory in Indiana and member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Carter loved to quilt, embroidery, garden and raise flowers especially red roses.


Survivors include two sons and their wives, Leon and Freda Carter of Paragould and Floyd and Mary Sue Carter of Elkhart, Ind. and a daughter and her husband, Charlsie “Kitty” and Charles Beaver of Memphis; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Carter of Earle and Sadie Carter of Trumann; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ruben L. Carter; two sons, James Carter and Richard Carter; a daughter, Edna Mae Carter; a grandson, Richard Carter; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Sue Eller; ten brothers and sisters.


A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, May 12th, 10:30 a.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. W. C. Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 5:00 until 8.00 at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Bobby Beaver, Jimmy Beaver, Tony Carter, Doug Carter, Terry Carter, David Carter, Phillip Carter, Dennis Carter, Kenny Carter and Jimmy Carter and honorary pallbearer, Tyler Howe.

Minnie Lora Tarvin

 

Minnie Lora Maag Tarvin, 80, Paragould, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, at her home. She was born June 8, 1930 the daughter of the late Harmon and Hester Barrett Maag. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Reverend Virgil Tarvin; brothers, Buddy and Charlie Maag and sisters, Marcella Camp,Jo Ann Maag and Wanda Lewis. She was an active member of the East Side Baptist Church, graduate of Oak Grove High School, attended Williams Baptist College, retired preachers wife, foster grandparent at School of the Twenty-First Century and retired from Boeing Electronics in Irving, Texas.

Survivors include her daughter: Linda Easterly of Paragould; sons and daughter-in-law: Terry and Kay Tarvin, Garey Tarvin, both of Dallas, TX; sister: Ramona Yates, of Sikeston, MO; brother: Gale Maag, of Paragould; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 13th, 10:00 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel. Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday following visitation. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Clyde Leon Steele
 


Clyde Leon Steele, 69, of Paragould, AR., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

He was born January 29, 1942 in Peach Orchard, AR., to the late Ernest and Neta Steele. He was a faithful member of the Peach Orchard Pentecostal Church for many, many years.

He is survived by his wife Juanita; two sons Johnathan and Bobby (Crystal) Steele of Paragould, AR.; one daughter Teresa (Frank) Oden of Paragould, AR.; two stepchildren Randy Allen of Paragould, AR., and Cathy Turner of Michigan; two brothers Ralph Steele of Success, AR., Donnie Steele of Peach Orchard, AR.; one sister Kathy Harrison of Yellville, AR.; several grandchildren; and many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 12th, at the Peach Orchard Pentecostal Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Carl McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Jones Ridge Cemetery near Delaplaine, AR., under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home.

Loyd Raymond Eason, Jr., 64, of Rector, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

He was born June 20, 1946 in Rector, to Loyd Raymond and Jessie Poynor Eason. Mr. Eason was a retired welder for the Caruthersville Shipyard and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Eason of Rector; one sister Earline (Pat) Miller of Rector; and one nephew, David Scales of Paragould.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, May 13th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Rector V.F.W. Hall with Melissa Coons officiating. No visitation is scheduled.

Buster Rice, born February 16, 1927 in Delaplaine, AR has been called to rest on May 9, 2011. Buster can now join his beloved wife, Rhoda and son, Bill.
He leaves behind; sons, Wendy (Lynn) and John (Sue), daughter, Lynda, grandson Jason in addition to seven other grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Buster worked for Swift Meats for 33 years in CA, AZ, IL, and NE in addition to seven years for Fowler School District in AZ.

Faye Hyde, 72, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born September 13, 1938 in Paragould, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Clifford E. Hyde; and two daughters, Sheila Gibson and Lisa Smith, all of Paragould. She is also survived by three sisters, Jean Vinyard of Willard, Missouri, Norma Hester and Joan Huffman, both of Paragould; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. Hyde; her parents, Jim and Miriam Adams; and one son, Tommy Wayne Hyde.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 13th, 1:30 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Knott Cemetery.

Jean Revola Cornish
 


Jean Revola Cornish of Katy, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Katy at the age of 89 years. She had lived in the Katy area since 1998.

Mrs. Cornish was born May 10, 1922 in Lorado, Arkansas to John Paye and Nancy Caroline Rhea Lamb.


She is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" Cornish and Norrene Trama of Richmond, Cindy and Paul Mendelson of Katy, and John Paul Cornish of Houston; grandchildren, Paul Ryan and Tiffany Mendelson of Katy; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and William M. Towery of Georgetown, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Mitchel and Emma Jean "Jeannie" Lamb.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15th, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Katy, where funeral services will be held Monday, May 16th, 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William M. Towery officiating. Interment in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in Nashville, Arkansas.

Tommy Allen Bass

 


Tommy Allen Bass, 68, Paragould, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Monette Manor after a long battle with a neurodegenerative disorder. He was born April 23, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, CA. He was raised in a military family and moved frequently with his family settling in Kansas City, KS where he graduated High School. He worked with his father at their family owned gas station until 1968 when he enlisted in the Army. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1972 with many certifications and achievements. He worked with International Harvester/White Farm Equipment for 19 years and as a Mechanics Department Supervisor at a large car dealership in Texas. He then moved to Arkansas and worked as a prison guard for The Maximum Security Unit at Tucker, as a maintenance man at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital and then retired in 2003 as the Maintenance Supervisor from Cotton Boll Technical Institute.

Tommy was known as Tom or T. A. to his friends and co-workers and as Pa by his wife. He was a fun-loving person with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed working with his hands, the peace of fishing and hunting, good food and most of all loved his family with all his heart. He will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Arthur Bass in 1982. Survivors include his mother: Alma Sue Bass (Hoggard) of Stouchburg, PA; wife: Ada Clarene Bass (Kubicek) of the home; sister: Deborah Bass (brother-in-law: William Monaghan) of Stouchburg, PA; step-son: Gregory Dean of Cedar Hill, TX; daughter and son-in-law: Letha and Scott Higgins and grandson: Shawn Allen Higgins all of Leavenworth, KS.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 29th, 4:00 p.m. in Peach Orchard at Brownie Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monette Manor, PO Box 470, Monette, AR 72447.

Eric Shawn Huyser, 46, of Paragould passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his home. He was born December 15, 1964 at Holland, MI., to Roger and Helen Huyser. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian tribe of Michigan. Eric loved his kids, loved camping and the outdoors and being with his family.

Preceding him in death is one brother, Shawn Eric Huyser; one grandpaw, Judson Fisher, JR.; grandparents, Evelyn and Maurice Huyser.

Survivors include his wife Crystal Huyser ; one son, Levi Shawn Huyser; one daughter, Bailey Anna Kay Huyser all of the home; parents Roger and Helen Huyser of Doniphan, MO.; one sister, Kelly Jo Jeffries of Gatewood, MO.; grandparents, Charles and Lily Palmer of Dolphin, MO.

Gerald Clinton Hyde, 83 of Paragould passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his residence. Gerald was born December 7, 1927, he was a woodcutter known as "The Wood Man".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira "Boss" and Selma Ellington Hyde; brothers, Roy, Cotton, Billy and Harold Hyde.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hyde of the home; sons, Jerry Hyde of Paragould and Brian Hyde of Austin, TX; daughters, Geraldine Kennedy and Connie Darbyshire both of Bakersville, CA, Kim Yank of Dallas, TX, Tammy Koopman of Manhattan, KS and Summer Hyde of NY, NY; brother, Frankie Hyde of Paragould, eleven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Stanley Gene Girard, 51, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his home in Paragould, AR. He was born April 30, 1960.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Girard; two brothers, Robert Earl and Dennis Wyann Girard.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Maxine Girard; two sisters, Sandra Smith and Robin Jacobs; one brother, Edward Lee Girard; six children; several grandchildren and many cousins.

Clevie Rushing, 96, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Mrs. Rushing was born February 5, 1915, in Walcott, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cathern and J.C. Moses of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Jeff Moses and Todd Moses; and two great grandchildren, Katie Moses and Bailey Moses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrvle Rushing.

Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 16th, 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Sam Stewart and Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Jeff Moses, Todd Moses, Donnie Miles, Johnny Miles, Jim Miles, and Ken Smith will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be residents of Wesley on the Ridge, and members of the Truth Seekers Sunday School class of the First Church of the Nazarene.

John Dachs
 


John Dachs, 89, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was born July 13, 1921, in Engelburg, Arkansas to Joseph and Clara Dachs. Mr. Dachs was a retired meter reader for Arkla Gas and a retired volunteer firefighter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnny Dachs, Charles and Lisa Dachs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Elmore, Louise and Bob Evans, all of Paragould. He is also survived by one sister, Rosena Albright of Rosenberg, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jon and Kevin Elmore, Cori Hinkle and Codi Dachs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Dachs; his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 16th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Larry Ritter, Steve Ritter, Jimmy Steimel, Danny Steimel, Jon Elmore and Kevin Elmore will serve as pallbearers.

Jim Larry Skimahorn, 65, of Delaplaine passed away as a victim of the recent floods, he was located on May 14th, 2011 near his home.
He was born June 26, 1945 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the late Louie and Vicey Collins Skimahorn. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Otis, Charley, Louie Jr., and Alan Skimahorn; One sister, Vickey Skimahorn. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his two daughters, Linsey & Jonathan Rodgers, Delaplaine and Chadisty & Shannon Jackson, Marmaduke; son, Alvin Skimahorn, Beech Grove; four grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Skimahorn, Delaplaine, Bill Skimahorn, Imboden, and Lloyd Skimahorn, Pocahontas; four sisters, Louise Hipp, Indiana, Jewell Louis & Ruth Parden, both of Lockwood, CO, and Mary Davies, Indiana; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5:00 until 8:00 at Higginbotham Funeral Service in Walnut Ridge, services will be held in the chapel, Wednesday, May 18th, at 1: 00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Russell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joey Jones, J.W. Grooms, Donald Keeling, Jeremy Powers, Larry Don Saffell, and Artist Roush. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery near Stanford.

Richard Allen "Tommy" Oxford, 61, Paragould passed away Saturday May 14, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 12, 1949 in Blytheville, AR the son of the late Henry Clayton and Virdie Valentine Oxford. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Oxford, brother, Henry Clayton "Hank" Oxford, Jr. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching westerns, working in the shop, anything outdoors and being "Tom Tom."

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Nathan Newby, son: Scott Oxford all of Paragould; sisters: Earline Mills of O'Kean, Ellen Douglas of Blytheville, Rosemary Miller of Smithville, Mayola Cox of Nixa, MO; brother: Jerald "Runt" Oxford of O'Kean; grandson: Owen Newby of Paragould.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6:00 until 8:00, at Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will be Thursday, May 19th, 10:00 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Angie Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Peggy Diane Richardson, 59, Paragould, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at UAMS in Little Rock. Peggy was born January 23, 1952 in Paragould the daughter of Alvia Vaniel Wright Nelson and the late Hobert "Bus" Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, David and Stephen Nelson. Peggy was involved in radio sales and was part owner of MOR Media. She was involved in the Arkansas Children’s Network Radiothon, Children's Miracle Rodeo and several other philanthropic activities. She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling and was the proud Nana of three grandbabies.

Survivors include her mother: Alvia Vaniel Nelson of Marmaduke; daughters and sons-in-law: Misty and Tom Carlyle of Conway, Chalee and Terry Bailey of Paragould; sister and brother-in-law: Melissa and Bruce Braman of Marmaduke; brothers: Hershel and Brenda Nelson of Marmaduke, Paul "Johnny" and Linda Nelson of Haliday; grandchildren: Ruby Grace Carlyle, Falyn Jade Carlyle and Corbin Reese Bailey; best friend and father of her children: Jeff “Bo” Hester of Paragould and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, clients, colleagues and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17th, 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel. Her life will be celebrated after visitation at Heath Colonial Chapel, 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Abanathy officiating.

Jennifer was born to William and Sondra Daley Bracken August 22, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Luther Junior Gardner
 


Luther Junior Gardner, 85 of Rector passed away May 16, 2011 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital. He was born September 27, 1925 to the late Luther and Virgie (Myrick) Gardner in Rector, Arkansas.
He served in the Army during World War II and then worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Hargrave Corner for many years.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his two brothers: Lavern Gardner and Ray Gardner and a sister: Gloyce Dills.

Surviving Junior is his wife: Mary Sula (Poppe) Gardner, two daughters and their husbands: Diane and Jim McClain of Kennett and Sherry and Cam Cate of Rector, three grandchildren:
Jeff Deniston, Amanda Layer and Madison Cate and a great-great grandchild: Nick Deniston.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 19th, 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Hargrave Corner with Brother Freddie Barker officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Thedford Franklin Summers

 


Thedford Franklyn Summers, 82, was born August 5, 1928 to John and Epal Summers in Evening Star, Arkansas. He passed away in Jackson, TN., May 17, 2011.
He was prepared and ready to go to his eternal home to be with the love of his life, Jessie Lillian (Martin) Summers who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his daughter Frankie Loretta Smith and her husband Jeff of Paragould, Alan Summers and his wife Wilma of Browning, and Angie Doyle and her husband Brien of Charleston, SC. He had 8 grandchildren, 12 great grand children and 2 step grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Cecil Summers and Freddie Summers, both of Paragould.
The family would like to thank the Bells Nursing Home staff for making Dad feel loved and cared for during his residency. We also thank the 6B nurses and doctors at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
Services will be held graveside at Memorial Gardens in Paragould on Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 pm with Hoggard and Sons of Piggott handling the arrangements.
Pallbearers are Faron Summers, Porter Summers, Ricky Grooms, Weldon Richardson, Trent Kisner, Jeff Smith and Sean Doyle. Honorary Pallbearers are JJ Kisner, John Ford, Nichole Bean, Ricky Flanery, Carolyn McBroom, Cecil Summers, Freddie Summers and Marilyn Pierceall.

Melbourne Gilbee
 


Melbourne Gilbee, 86 of Marmaduke passed away May 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 5, 1925 to John and Mary (Boxton) Gilbee in Piggott. He was a factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Melbourne was preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Gilbee, six brothers, Willard, Virgle, Cleo, Clarence, Clinton and Laster Gilbee, and two sisters: Geneva Jenkins and Flora Bradshaw.

He was survived by two sons: Vaud Leon Gilbee and William Earl Gilbee, both of Marmaduke, three daughters, Martha Ann Lane, Darlene Ciminelli both of Marmaduke and Pamela Jo Causey of Paragould, one brother, James Gilbee of Florida, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21st, 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Brother Gary Morris officiating. Interment will be at the new Hope Cemetery in Pollard.
Visitation will be Friday evening, 5:00 until 8:00.

Ottie Mae Wren



Ottie Mae Wren, 85 of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. She was born September 8, 1925 in Schugtown and had lived in Paragould, Delaplaine and Pocahontas, and was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Mae had a love and a passion for flowers, animals and nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wren; parents, Charlie and Della Cooper; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Wren, of Jonesboro; two grand puppies Starr and Sassy.
Graveside services will be Monday May, 23rd, 10:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Pastor Russell Shewmaker officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be noon, Sunday, May 29th, at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

Olibia Woodward
 


Olibia Woodward, 70, of Paragould — our Dad, and our Mother’s first love — went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 19, 2011, at his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Woodward was born February 18, 1941, Memphis, TN., to the late John and Violet Woodward. Mr. Woodward was of the Baptist faith and taught us all to love God first, do an honest day’s work, and there was good in everyone — you just had to look hard to find it in some people.

Those of us who will miss him greatly include his wife of 51 years, Florence Woodward of the home; two sons, Olibuel “Woody” Woodward and wife Tiney of Newport, and James Woodward and wife Tina of Brookland; two daughters, Melissa Steele and husband Bret of Illinois and Sheryl Woodward of the home; one sister, Jeanine Spence of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Those greeting him in Heaven include his parents; three brothers, Laverne, Leslie and James Woodward; one sister, Alline Davis; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church, Arkansas 351, Paragould, with the Rev. Freddie Muse officiating. Burial will follow in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery with Faith Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.

Gerald Blane Smallwood, 59 of Paragould passed from this life Friday, May 20, 2011. He was born on September 2, 1951 to the late Burl and Maggie "Hoskins" Smallwood.

Gerald is survived by a son: Blane Smallwood, two grandchildren: Dalton and Brooklyn Smallwood, a brother: Perry Smallwood, all of Michigan, and two sisters: Monavee May and Beverly Clayton both of Paragould.

Visitation will begin Monday, May 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Funeral Services will be conducted following visitation at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Steve Cole, 58, of Walls, MS., sales administrator for Delta Foremost Chemical, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Cole was born December 1, 1952, in Paragould and was of the Baptist faith.

Visitation will be Sunday evening 500 until 7:00 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Hills Church in Southaven with burial to follow in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Christi Cole; three sons, Chris Cole of Bartlett, TN., Tim Cole of Nashville, TN., and Austin Overall of Walls; two daughters, McKenzie Cole and Kelsee Overall, both of Walls; parents, Jim and Freda Cole of Jonesboro; two brothers, Jim Cole Jr. and Jeff Cole, both of Jonesboro; three sisters, Kathy Herring and Lorrie Rothe, both of Jonesboro, and Amy Davis of Blytheville; and four grandchildren.

Jason Lee Carter


Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Jason Lee Carter was born December 31, 1969, and passed from this life Friday, May 20, 2011, at his home in Jonesboro of natural causes.

Sgt. Carter was with the 90th Sustainment Brigade of Camp Pike in North Little Rock. He had served years. He had served two tours of duty in Iraq, the latest in 2009-2010 at Balad in the Iranian Freedom Movement, receiving numerous ribbons and citations.

Sgt. Carter was quick to have a joke, and made you laugh in a hat drop. He never met a stranger and loved an audience. He was a truck driver and mechanic by trade and a soldier at heart. He was a redneck and proud of it.

He leaves to survive him his dad, James Carter; his mama, Brenda Carter Williams; a son, Nathan Carter; his sister, Pam (Morgan) Chase; two nephews; and his beloved boxer, Maxine.

Sgt. Carter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert and Babe Carter, and Ed and Maxine James; and two uncles, Johnny Carter and Douglas James.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 24th, 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Cox officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the 90th Sustainment Brigade.

Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Billy Ray Smith



Billy Ray Smith, 83, of Paragould passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Belle Mead Nursing Home. Mr. Smith was born July 30, 1927, he was a retired tool and die operator. A U.S. Army veteran having served in the Armored Infantry Division in Europe. He was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include two sisters, Bernece Hill and Mary Huckabee, both of Rockford, IL; and a special niece, Diane Smith of South Beloit, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Macy and Masie Smith; a son, John Smith; and seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 25th, 10:00 a.m. at Bond’s Cemetery in Knobel.

No visitation has been planned.

Helen C. Lenderman, 94, of Walnut Corner went to be with the Lord, May 21, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born May 1, 1917 to Dave and Nellie Forkum. She was the oldest member of Light Church of Christ. She loved her flowers, gardening, going to church and spending time with her family. She married the love of her life, Joe Lenderman on October 20, 1934.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; two brothers Harold and Bufford Forkum.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Lenderman of Walnut Corner and Clifford (Caroyln) Lenderman of Jonesboro; two daughters, Elnora (Lloyd) Hefner of Walnut Corner and Mildred Dennis of Paragould; eight grandchildren, Shannon Lenderman, Lesa Lewis, DeRhonda Lindsay, Debbie Snyder, Kathy Proffitt and Keith Hefner; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dub and Bob Forkum both of Paragould.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 23rd, 6:00 until 8:00 at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 24th, 10:00 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Sam Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Knot Cemetery.

Debra Lynne Stokes, 57, passed away May 21, 2011 at her residence in Beech Grove, Arkansas. She was born December 8, 1953 to Wayne and Veona Pruett. She was a devoted member of Center Hill Church of Christ and the music teacher at Crowley’s Ridge Academy for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Veona.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Stokes; father, Wayne Pruett of Paragould; one son, Dan Stokes, Jr. of Waco, Texas; two daughters, Danna Ramsey and her husband Jeff of Jonesboro and Dustyn Stokes of Paragould; one brother, Randy Pruett of Little Rock; and three grandchildren, Sophie, Maddie and Eliza Ramsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sterlean Crossno Beasley.

Anna Rebecca Braddum, 32 of Paragould passed away May 22, 2011 at her home. She was born May 28, 1979 in St. Louis, MO. to Tim Braddum and Virginia Wendell. She loved costume designing, Renaissance Fairs, cats and horses.

She is survived by her father, Tim Braddum: mother, Virginia Wendell; two brothers, Johnny David Braddum and Joseph Clay Wendell all of Paragould; godparents, William and Sandra James of Corning; three cats, Boots, Jack and Kagome.

Preceding her in death were her grandfather, James West; grandpaw, Curtis Loveless; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Edith Braddum.

Survivors include her parents; a sister, Caragan Climer of the home; a brother, Bradley Joe Climer of Brookland; maternal grandfather, Sam Miesner of Strawberry; grandparents, James and Betty Copeland of Marmaduke, AR. and Donald and Marlene Climer of Springfield, MO., great-grandparents, Victor and Eithel Miesner of Strawberry; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 26th, 5:00 until 7:00 at the Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be  Friday, May 27th, 2:00 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro with Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers will be Logan Anderson, Luke Goodman, Colton Jones, Robert Jones, Sam Miesner and Donnie Joe Newman. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Davidson, Ryan Holt and Steve Richardson.

Billy Edward Shaw



Billy Shaw, 66 of Marmaduke passed away May 23, 2011 at the Gideon Care Center. He was born November 8, 1944 to the late William and Ester (Hawkins) Shaw.

He is survived by his wife: Alicia (Panhorst) Shaw, two daughters: Jacalyn Scorfina of Paragould and Missy "Sissy" Williams of Paragould, five grandchildren, a brother: Randy Shaw of Conway and a sister: Teena Griffin of Paragould.

Visitation will be Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 26th, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Kim Bridges officiating. Interment will be at the Pine Log Cemetery.

John Calvin Lynn
 


John Calvin Lynn, 86, Paragould, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born February 2, 1925 the son of the late Thomas Earl and Cora Roe Lynn. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lorene Reynolds Lynn, son, Reggie Lynn, two brothers and three sisters. He was a Navy veteran and a member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Sandy Lynn, Greig and Joy Lynn, sister: Billie Jane Adams, brother: Thomas Lynn all of Paragould; grandchildren: Jon, Matt, Jacob and Laura Lynn; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Brody and Jackson Lynn.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will be Friday, May 27th, 10:00 a.m. at Camp Ground United Methodist Church with Reverend Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.

Maxine Higgins

 


Maxine Higgins, 84, Paragould, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born September 22, 1926 the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Sally Donohue Boling. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Higgins, brothers and sister-in-law, Dr. William and Pat Boling, Herman Boling, sister, Opal Anspach. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn and Kenny Cline, Carol and Larry Elmore, son and daughter-in-law: Mickey and Suzanne Higgins, sister: Rachel Barrett all of Paragould; sisters-in-law: Elsie Spiller of Ruston, LA; Frances Sims of Marilyn Heights, MO; grandchildren: Jeff Wood, Julie McHaney, Amber Connor, Christopher Higgins, Evan Elmore; great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Kasey and Clancey Wood, Kathelyn, Evelyn and Nelson McHaney, Lilah Katherine Higgins, Caleb Connor. Several friends, nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 27th, 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the celebration of her life which will follow at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Tom Letchworth officiating.

Estus Calvin Williams



Estus Calvin Williams, 81, of Leachville, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born at Pontotoc, Mississippi he was the son of the late Amory and Limmie Louise Ramsey Williams and had been a Leachville resident for most of his life. He was a 1949 graduate of Leachville High School, the former owner and operator of the Queen Anne Photography Studio, and a longtime member of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Sue Parham Williams of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Laura Williams of Monroe, Ga., Larry and Sherri Williams of Monette and Bobby and Karla Williams of Jonesboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Deb Kee and her husband Dan of Bentonville; and one sister, Mildred Wells of Paragould. He also leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28th, 11:00 a.m. at Leachville First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Friday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Kee, Jared Williams, Jason Williams, Brandon Williams, Caleb Farley and Ronnie McFarland. Honorary pallbearers will include the Baraca Sunday school class.

Peggy Gatewood
 


Peggy “Branscum” Gatewood, 42, was born September 11, 1968 at 5:29 PM in Chicago, IL., first child of Robert and Carolyn Branscum. She left this world May 25, 2011 at her home in Paragould, AR. Waiting for her with open arms, her daddy, Robert Allen Branscum; grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Left behind with broken hearts her husband, Billy Gatewood; children, Beau, Dylan and Chelsea Gatewood of the home, son Bradley Gilkey. Peggy’s mother, Carolyn Branscum of Gosnel, AR., One brother Robert and his wife Cheryl and daughter Kaitlyn Branscum of Cabot, AR.; grandmother MayDean Smith of Jonesboro, AR. A second father her uncle Charlie Bransum of Blytheville, AR. Many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and her puppy, who’s like a daughter, Isabelle.
Peggy was a 1987 graduate of Gosnell High School. Peggy received her RN in nursing, class of 1993 at MCC in Blytheville. Peggy, for years, was a blood donor and in the end an organ donor. Peggy loved her family, God and her church family home. You will be forever missed and loved every day of our lives. God’s peace be with you now and forever in the name of the father, son and the holly sprit.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31st, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home followed by services at 12:00 p.m. with Larry Bulla officiating.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.

Shirley Joyce Walker
 


Shirley Walker, 69, of Paragould, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was a member of Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church.

Shirley was born August 22, 1941, in Paragould, to Clarence and Ruth Penry. She was a retired Human Resources manager from PrestoLite Wire and had been a long-time employee of Sunbeam. After retiring, she volunteered for the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center and the Food Bank.

Shirley was an avid gardener and was known for her keen sense of humor. She was greatly loved by family and friends alike.

Survivors include three daughters, Lanita Bateman, of Little Rock, Pam Porter of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Lynne Lannom and her husband, Jeff, of Greenfield, Tennessee; and a son, Rick Bateman and his wife, Melissa, of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Ms Walker had nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her survivors also include her brother and sister-in-law, James and Pat Penry of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and her sister-in-law, Regina Penry of Jonesboro. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Princess.
Ms. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Walker; her parents; two brothers, Charles and Bill Penry; and her daughter-in-law, Tina Bateman.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 28th, 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 with Michael Sutton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to your local hospice house.

Karen Kay Freligh
 


Karen Kay Johnson Freligh, age 45 of Blytheville, Arkansas passed from this life Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, Arkansas. Born May 3, 1966 to James and Winona Downs Johnson in Arkansas Pass, Texas she was area resident for the past 61/2 yrs. Karen was a member of the Gosnell Baptist Church and a graduate of the Beeville Community college in Beeville, Texas. She received her associate degree and was a member of Alpha-Phi-Delta Sorority. Karen was the assistant office manager for Arkansas Counseling Associates in Blytheville. Karen enjoyed being around and riding horses in her home pastures. Karen loved to work needlepoint and was very active in her church activities. Karen's greatest joy in life was when she was able to be with her family. When the word family is used around Karen it is a world wide term. Karen and Michael have touched many lives as sponsors of 11 foreign exchange students from all over the world. It really didn't matter what it was as long as they were together. Karen's strongest attribute was her devotion as a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Such a person as Karen will truly be missed by all who knew her. Karen's father and step son, Phillip Freligh preceded her in death.


Karen's husband, Michael Freligh of the home; son, Christopher R. Freligh also of the home; step daughters, Heidi Moore and her husband, Ronnie, of Blytheville, Melissa Marion and her husband Garland of Tulsa, Oklahoma; mother and stepfather Nonie and Homer Moses of Goliad, Texas; brother, Roy Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Aransas Pass, Texas; sisters, Janice Wright of Tyler, Texas, Vickie Pegues of Marceline, Missouri and five step grandchildren all survive her.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1st, 10:30 a.m. in the Gosnell Baptist Church in Gosnell, Arkansas with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 31st, 6:00 until 8:00 at Cobb Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in Linwood Cemetery, Paragould, Arkansas.
Memorials may be given to the Gosnell Baptist Church or Trinity Behavioral Health, 1033 Old Burr Road, Warm Springs, Arkansas.

Gladys G. Taylor



Gladys G. Taylor, 97, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in Paragould. She was born April, 14, 1914 in Biggers, the daughter of the late Henry Irvin and Maudie Ellen Rodgers Story. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jake Taylor, children, Luther Irvin Taylor and Ola Myrl Young and two sisters. She was a farmer and member of the Second & Walnut Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughters: Joyce Aden of Paragould, Mary Alice Flanery of O'Kean; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated Thursday, June 2nd, 1:00 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel, with Gary Cremeens and Edgar Humphrey officiating. Interment will follow at Pirtle Cemetery.

James Woodrow Gazaway

 

James Woodrow Gazaway, 76, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at his residence.

Born November 15, 1934, in Delaplaine, he served in the US Navy between 1955 and 1959. Mr. Gazaway was a retired welder for the Boilermakers, an entrepreneur and of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow (Woody) Gazaway and Mary Gazaway; one sister, Joyce (Katy) Pendland; and one infant son.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Gazaway; three sons, Terry (Lisa) Gazaway, Robert (Robin) Gazaway and Aaron (Melissa) Gazaway; one daughter, Anita Parmeley; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren all of Festus. Other survivors include two sisters, Violet England of Paragould, and Shirley Morton of Doniphan, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends that loved him.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4th, 1:30 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Earl Martin and Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. until time of service at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Jim Arnold, Aaron Gazaway, Terry Gazaway, Robert (Rob) Claunch and David England will serve as pallbearers.

He will be sadly missed by all.
