Burley Lucenda (Estes) Matheny

Burley Lucenda Matheny, age 94, of Paragould died Thursday, May 21, 1998 at 9 p.m. at her home.
Mrs. Matheny was born September 16, 1903, in Holcomb, MO.
She was a homemaker and attended Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Silas and Martha Jane (Hargis) Estes; her step-father, Bryce McDonald, three brothers, Cecil Ambrose of Holcomb, MO., Lawrence Estes and Clyde McDonald and one sister Hester Wall.

Survivors include her husband: George Bird Matheny of Paragould, four sons, Arvel, Jim, and Wayne of Paragould, Evert "Rip" Matheny of St. Charles, MO., one daughter, Dorothy Whitworth of Paragould; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, May 24, 1998 at Mitchell Funeral Home with Hershel Johnson and Randy Matheny officiating. Burial took place at Purcell Cemetery in Clay County, AR. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
