Debbie Lynn Ness

Debbie Lynn Ness, 53, of Paragould, passed away March 12, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center. She was born September 23, 1959 to Albert and Dorothy Rudi. Debbie was a member of Griffin Memorial Church, collected elephant figurines, loved her dog “Jabie Gale", and enjoyed traveling.

Preceding Debbie in death was her granddaughter, Airen Henderson. Her survivors include her parents; her spouse, Norman L. Ness; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Ness, James and Misty Ness; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Steven Henderson; one brother, Mike Rudi; three grandchildren, Shila Claire Ness, Kylen Henderson, and Korbynn Henderson.Memorial Services will be Friday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Everett Isom officiating.

James Albert Copeland

James Albert Copeland, 69, of Marmaduke, passed away March 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Stonewall, AR September 26, 1943 to Eugene and Mary Copeland. James was a member of Finch Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and training his dog. Family time was also very important to James.

Preceding James in death were his father, Eugene Copeland, and granddaughter, Lexie Rae Climer.

His survivors include his mother, Mary Copeland; wife, Bettie Copeland; sons and daughter-in-law, James Allen Copeland, Matthew and Penny Copeland; step-son, Duke Climer; step-daughter, Cherie and Brian Belcher; daughters and sons-in-law, Madeline and Sam Stevens, Terry Nelson, Becky and Dennis Watson, Michelle and Pat Kopasz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Lois Copeland, Bryant and Kathy Copeland, Ronnie and Cynthia Copeland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roxie and Laymon Ellis, Diane and James Partin, Dora and James Smith; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Terry Gage officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro at Macedonia Cemetery

Serving as Pallbearers will be Wesley Reece, Macky Westbrook, Mark Smith, Mike Murphy, and Tony Hardin, and Matthew Copeland.

Honorary Pallbearers will include Ron Coy, Donald Farris, Jackson Hardin, and James Allen Copeland.

William "Buck" Thomas Bobbitt Jr.


 William “Buck" Thomas Bobbitt, Jr., 57 of Jonesboro, passed away on March 15, 2013 at the Phil & Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born April 9, 1955 in Jonesboro to William “Wig" T. Bobbitt Sr. and Mary Armstrong Minton. Buck preached the gospel for many years.

Preceding him in death was his step father, Raymond L. Minton

Buck’s survivors include a son, Michael P. Bobbitt of Gainesville, FL; a step son Michael J. (Dena) Cottrell; a step daughter, Madison Morgan; a grandson, Liam Bobbitt of Gainesville, FL; two step granddaughters, Ashlyn and Julianna Cottrell of Jonesboro; his father, William “Wig" T. (Etta) Bobbitt Sr.; his mother, Mary Armstrong Minton; brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Bobbitt, and Adam (Weslynn) Bobbitt, both of Jonesboro; a sister, Judy Gail (Joe) Brown also of Jonesboro; two step sisters, Terri and Michelle, both of Medford, OR.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends tomorrow, March 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Plantation Park Music Theater (Off Hasbrook Road) in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Plantation Park Music Theater. Burial will follow in Old Enterprise Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Brock Wicker, Robert Brown, Reuben Soto, Cody Bobbitt, Paul Bobbitt, and Michael Cottrell. Honorary Pallbearers will include Johnny Ray Bobbitt, Kyle Spangler, and Lonny Spangler.

Solomon Ray Huffstutler

Solomon Ray Huffstutler, infant son of Bryon and Davida Huffstutler went to be with the Lord March 18, 2013.

There will be a graveside service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery with David White officiating.

He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Jerry and Michelle Huffstutler, David and Helen White and Joyce Huffstutler; aunts and uncles, Paul and Amie White, Kaleb and Emilee Huffstutler and Monica Huffstutler.

James W. Williford

James W. Williford, 66, of Paragould, passed away March 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 10, 1946 to the late George and Mary Williford. James was a member of the West View Baptist Church, a retired truck driver, a police officer, and enjoyed fishing.

Preceding James in death were his parents; one daughter, Jessica Williford; one brother, Frank Williford; two nephews, Charlie and Richard Williford.

His survivors include his wife, Barbara Williford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Charles McDaniel, and Brandy and Jeffrey Mitchell; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Rev. Dan Lewis; two nieces, Geneva Walters and Rebekkah Davis; one nephew, Lee Lewis; one grandson, Caleb Mitchell; two step grandsons, Aaron and Sean Mitchell; three step granddaughters, Emily Mitchell, Laura McDaniel, and Meghan Wade; four precious great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 9 pm Saturday March 23, at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Westview Baptist Church with Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with military honors

The family request for your consideration in donating to the Westview Baptist Church Benevolence fund, St. Jude Research Hospital, or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Hugh Bland Boyd

Hugh Bland Boyd, 65, of Paragould, was born August 21, 1947 to the late Olen and Reba (Butler) Boyd. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed watching his granddaughter play softball. Mr. Boyd passed away March 23, 2013 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Ashlee Boyd; his parents; and two brothers, Joe and Gerald Boyd.

His survivors include the mother of his children, Connie Boyd; daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Todd Clifford; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Gale Maag; and one granddaughter, Taylar Clifford.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Jay Hicks officiating.

Services are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.

Jackie Lynn Gassaway

Jackie Lynn Gassaway, 71, passed away March 26, 2013 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. He was born June 1, 1941 in Searcy to the late Richard and Wanda Gassaway. He was the owner of Wonder Pool Company since 1970, served on the Board of Directors at Mission Outreach for nineteen years and was a member of the House of Prayer Church.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Gassaway; three sons, Kelly (Shauna), Richard (Shawnna) and Jack Gassaway; two daughters, Sunny Curtis and Melody (Richie) Young all of Paragould; three sisters, Oleta Brill, Anita Wegner and Hope Gassaway; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, March 29, 2013 in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Clark officiating. The family will receive friends 11- 1 prior to the service. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers

The family request lasting memorial be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Rocky Lee Miller

Rocky Lee Miller, 51, of Paragould passed away March 28, 2013 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1961 in Trumann to Mark and Kathleen Miller. He loved to fish, go mudding, ride horse and play Yatzee. He was a member of Anderson Tully Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Tyler, Connor and Quinton Miller all of Paragould; one daughter Hayley Miller of Harrisburg; four brothers, Paul Miller of Marked Tree, Jerry Miller of Wynne, Joe Miller of Trumann and Glen Miller of Dallas Texas; two sisters, Nina Hazel of Marked Tree and Deborah Meeks of Wynne; companion, Pam Smallwood and one grandchild, Marci Costner.

The family will receive friends 12 – 2 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM.

Senoa May Greene

Senoa May Greene, 65, of Paragould passed away March 30, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born March 10, 1948 in Walnut Ridge to Pleas William and Allie May Findley. She was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the First Methodist Church.

Senoa is survived by her mother, Allie May Findley of Paragould; two sons and daughter in laws, Dewie and Christina Greene of Paragould and Nick and Pamela Greene of Indiana; one brother, Bill Findley of Georgia; one sister, Norma Warner of Paragould; and ten grandchildren, Melissa and Dewie Greene, Geoffrey Winston, Mercedes and Devin Greene, Steve and Rachel Greene, Jake Greene, Brandi Greene and Heather Greene and several great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her father; husband, James Greene; two sons, Dennis and David Greene; two brothers, Charles Pickney and Vernie Findley; and one sister, Jeanette Propes.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rev. Billy Fly will be officiating.
