Thomas Franklin Hollaway, 75, of Livingston, IL. passed away Monday,
February 1, 2010.
Mr. Hollaway was born July 31, 1934 in Delaplaine, AR., to the late James
and Gracie Hollaway.
He is preceded in death by a son, Michael Hollaway.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Hollaway of the home, son, Stanley
Hollaway of Anchorage, Alaska. daughter, Brenda Townsend of Livingston, IL.
3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Hollaway of
Livingston, IL and Leon Hollaway of Mt. Olive, IL., and sister Anna Ruth
Schrivner of Booneville, MO.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5th, 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel
of McNabb Funeral Home Burial will follow to Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Virginia Ann Beasley
Virginia Ann Beasley, 87, of Paragould passed away February 1, 2010 at
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born September 16, 1922 in
Perryville, Missouri the daughter of Floyd and Virginia Nance Fox. She was a
homemaker and a member of Griffith Memorial United Methodist Church.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lemuel, Leeman,
Henry and Billy Fox; and sister, Marian Funke.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula Beasley of Carbondale, Illinois and
Deanna Beasley of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Crystal Beasley of
Portland, Oregon.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Griffith Memorial United
Methodist Church followed by the service at 6 p.m. with Reverend Michael
Sutton officiating. Burial will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the York
Chapel Cemetery in Perryville, Missouri.

Brandon Thomas Green
Brandon Thomas Green of Rector was born February 26, 1983, the very special
gift and blessing to Buddy and Sharon Hampton Green.
Brandon went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 3, 2010,
at the age of 26 years, 11 months and seven days.
In addition to his loving parents, Buddy and Sharon, he is survived by a
loving and wonderful big brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Amber Green of
Rector; and loving nephews and nieces, Kason Green, Trey Rodden, Carly
Rodden and Libby Green. A host of other relatives and friends mourn his
passing.
Brandon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mabern and
Frances Green, and his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Rosetta Hampton.
Brandon was a very special child. He attended Marmaduke School and was in
the Special Olympics. He loved running around with his mom, who had only
been away from him for a half day of his life. He loved going to McDonald’s,
eating their French fries and hamburgers; seeing his big brother, Brad;
getting into trouble; listening to Shania Twain music; eating oatmeal every
morning; riding his golf cart and 4-wheeler, sliding around the corners and
going fast; and his nephews and nieces. He really loved to give you a big
hug.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 7th, 2:00 p.m. at the Marmaduke
First Baptist Church with Kim Bridges and David Flannery officiating.
Interment will be in Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery, Marmaduke.
Visitation will be Saturday evening at 6:00 in Marmaduke First Baptist
Church.

Willard Paul Randol, 81 of Paragould departed this life on February 3, 2010,
at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born January
21, 1929, in Leachville, AR.
Willard was a local businessman, owner and operator of Dixie Cleaners, Inc.
He was past president of the Civitan Club of Paragould, Lions Club and
Rotary of Marked Tree, AR. He was a devoted member of West View Baptist
Church.
Mr. Randol is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary A. Randol;
brother, Charles Randol, infant son, Gary Paul Randol.
Willard is survived by his wife, Gretta Louise Combs Randol of the home;
daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Ray Morris of Charleston, SC, Patty
and Jeffery Bozada of St. Charles, MO, Kitty and Dewayne Witcher, Maelena
and Louis Phillips of Paragould; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Susan
Hill of Paragould; brother, Roy Randol, Jr. of Florence, AL; niece and
husband, Brenda and David Parker of Florence, AL; 10 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 6th, 1:30 p.m. at Heath Colonial
Chapel with Rev. Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial

2010 at her residence. She was a Professional Tax Preparer. Melonie was born
December 11, 1960 to the family of Earnest and Ettar Carol Smith.
She is preceded in death by one son, Cody; her parents; and brothers: Leon,
Elbert, Wesley and Odell Smith.

Ida Louise Hoelscher, 95, of Lafe passed away February 4, 2010, at Greene
Acres Nursing Home.
Born October 21, 1914, at Lafe, Miss Hoelscher retired from General Electric
in St. Louis and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Louise Hoelscher; one
brother, Ernest Hoelscher; and two sisters, Lena Schutt and Emma Schlake.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond Hoelscher; one sister, Lorene
Stephens, both of Lafe; and nieces and nephews, Allen and Shelia Stephens,
Gary and Linda Stephens, Lindel and Janette Stephens, Carol and Gary
Hickingbottom, Sandra Stephens, Shirley Pierce, Dorothy and Roy Yanijada.

Joanne Kathren Johnson, 59, of Paragould, formerly of Manila, passed away
Thursday, February 4, 2010 at UAMS in Little Rock.
Born in Patton, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Martin and had
been a Paragould resident for the past 12 years. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate
of Manila High School and Arkansas State University, where she earned her
master’s degree in education. She was a retired teacher and school
administrator, having served in the South Mississippi County and Greene
County school systems.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Johnson of the home; sons, John Baker
and wife Tonnie of Las Vegas and Michael Johnson and wife Angela of Gosnell;
mother, Marie Martin of Manila; three sisters, Linda Glidewell and husband
Tony of Manila, Donna Ashley and husband Mike of Monette and Vickie Skaggs
of Manila; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 7th, 2:00 p.m. in Howard Funeral
Service Chapel at Manila with burial to follow in Manila Cemetery.

Willard Maurice Maronay of Paragould was born July 6, 1935, to the late
Jesse and Amanda Maronay. He departed this life February 4, 2010, at the age
of 74 years in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie
Maronay January 20, 2009; and a daughter, Teresa Birmingham.
Survivors are a sister, Retha Sue Reece of Clinton; three grandchildren,
Damon, Heather and Melissa; five great-grandchildren, and a host of other
relatives and friends.

Claude Gramling and sister, Mathel May. She was a school bus driver for 28
years and owned a restaurant for a number of years.

homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paragould.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Dugan Rogers and by her parents.

Dorado; one daughter and son-in-law, Audri and Ralph Waddell of Jonesboro; a

at Stanford for many years.

her husband, Donald G. Keller; and a daughter, Margaret Gail Keller.

Bobby Wayne Hadley, 64, of Paragould passed away Friday, February 12, 2010
at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1945, in
Bakersfield, Calif., to Dee and Verna Hadley.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Dee Hadley of Paragould and Bobby Hadley of
Cotter; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with
David Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.
until noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Cloyce Watson
Cloyce Watson, 88 of Paragould passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at
St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Cloyce was born November 9, 1921,
he was a retired auto mechanic, a World War II veteran and a member of the
10th Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Watson; parents, Luther David and
Edith Adair Watson; two brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Watson of the home; granddaughter, Meredith
Watson and step-grandson, Ron Wiles, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the 10th Street Baptist
Church with Revs. Jack Bearden, Waymon Holt and Boyce D. Cate officiating.

Joseph Glyn Loften Jr.
Joseph Glyn Loften Jr., 79, of Paragould, passed away February 13, 2010, at
his home surrounded by his family.
Born January 17, 1931, in Paragould, he was retired from Prestolite Wire,
where he worked in maintenance. He had also worked many years for Foremost
Dairies, ran Loften’s Refrigeration, and worked for Chicago and Eastern
Illinois Railroad.
He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as control tower operator and was
stationed in Hawaii. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in
Paragould.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who in his retirement
enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, going to dances with his wife and
spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid walker and also
loved to read.
Preceding him in death were his beloved mother, Zula M. Clifford Loften; a
son, Duane E. Loften; and a beloved friend, Earl F. Laird.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley A. Loften; three
daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Kenny Sullivan of Paragould, Kimberly,
Jim Mask of Southaven, Miss., and Kelly and Dennis Cox of Paragould; former
son-in-law, Michael J. Smith of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and spouses, CJ
and Amy Klingensmith, Justin and Amy Klingensmith, Jay Allen Smith, Michael
E. Loften, Morgan Cox and Dylan Cox; one great-granddaughter, Emma Louise
Klingensmith; his mother-in-law, Modine Lamb; and a host of family and
friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with
Kenneth Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until
2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Randall Hugh “Randy” Pierce, 56, of Paragould, passed away February 13, 2010
at St. Bernard’s Hospice in Jonesboro. Born June 30, 1953 in St. Louis,
Missouri, he was a railroad car man and member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his father, Otto Pierce of Paragould; one son and
daughter-in-law, Matthew and Oneida Pierce of Huntsville, Alabama; one
daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Greg Hammond of Huntsville, Alabama; two
brothers, Otto R. Pierce of West Hartford, Connecticut and Mark Pierce of
Edwardsville, Illinois; one sister, Barbara Feher of Mountain View,
Missouri, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Pierce.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday, February 15, 1:30 p.m. at
Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Barry Joiner officiating.

Ruth Ernestine Everett
We are sorry, yet rejoice to inform you for the earthly departure and
heavenly arrival of our mother Ruth E. Everett, age 86, of Paragould. She
took the 9:00 a.m. flight, Monday, February 15, 2010, from her home. Take
off was smooth after 86 years. There were often layovers at various
terminals in her life, but mom never complained.
She was born February 2, 1924 the daughter of the late Ralph and Hattie
Sawyer Briggs. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Owen
Everett, daughter, Brenda Everett, brothers Jack and Cecil Briggs took
flights to heaven before her.
Ruth was employed by Arkansas Extension Service as a home economist, was a
leader and programs director for the 4-H program, PTA president at Elmwood
Elementary, member of the Eastern Star, City Beautiful Committee, and
American Legion where she was in charge of the Veteran's Poppy Sales, raised
money for March of Dimes, was a regular blood donor and was named Mom of the
Year. She was a charter member of West View Baptist Church where she taught
Sunday School, visited nursing homes and the sick and elderly and served on
the ministry for the church. She was Beloved.
She left behind her children: Terry Everett of Boyle, MS; Gary and Sandy
Everett of Vienna, VA; Larry and Judy Everett; Linda and Danny McDaniel, all
of Paragould; Betty and Ken Hebert of Little Rock; Darlene Everett, San
Antonio, TX; Janet St Clair of Youngsville, LA; thirteen grandchildren and
seventeen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath
Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at West View Baptist Church,
Friday, February 19, 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Marc Reeves officiating.

Joseph Shane Francis
Funeral services for Joseph “Joe” Shane Francis, 51, of Marmaduke, who
departed this life February 15, 2010, will be conducted Monday, February 22,
2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke, with
Brother Don Morris officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery
near Rector. Visitation will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at
2:00 p.m.
Joe was born August 2, 1958, in Gordon Grove, California and moved to
Bakersfield in 1959. He worked very young for his dad in construction and at
a local dairy. In high school, he worked in welding in an iron yard and
buying and selling cars.
Joe was always creative and liked to build things. He became an operating
engineer at the age of 16 and in construction business with his dad,
building roads, bridges and airports, for 20 plus years. He was a certified
welder, plumber, hydraulics; good finish carpenter, mechanic in gas and
diesel. There weren't many things he couldn't do. After he married the love
of his life, Diane, in 1993, they began their own business JD Services doing
custom manufacturing. At age 48, Joe retired due to his and Diane's health
and then moved to Marmaduke Arkansas. Together they enjoyed raising their
children and working and building their home. Joe loved to cook and barbecue
for his family and friends. Just recently, he and his son, Justin began
their business, "Diesel Docs" doing what they loved together.
Joe was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his
Lord, his family, his church and his church family. He will be greatly
missed by his family, friends, church family and anyone he graced with his
presence.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Diane, in August, 2009: and a
brother, Stephen Francis.
Survivors are: his sons, Justin Francis of Marmaduke, Bryan Costerain and
Rebecca of Washington, D.C.; daughters, Lindsey Colker and Tim of
Bakersfield, CA, Crystal Banducci and Katie Banducci of CA., his parents,
James and Patricia Gail Francis of Bakersfield, two grandchildren, Kaden and
Caleb: a brother Timothy Francis of Bakersfield, a sister Jamie Dears of

Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Wendell was
a factory worker at Anchor Packaging and Emerson Electric.

Wayne Vincent.

Teressa Diane Nelson
Teressa Diane (Simpson) Nelson was born October 2, 1951 in Paragould into
the family of Cecil Bradford and Elleta Connie (Rhynes) Simpson. She went to
be with her heavenly Father February 17, 2010, at her residence in Hardy, at
the age of fifty-eight years.
Teressa graduated from Rector High School in 1969 and married the love of
her life, James Doyle Nelson on December 25, 1969. She graduated from
Cosmetology School in 1973, and worked as a hairdresser in Paragould for two
years, she worked for the Kroger Company for twenty-four years, she then
retired to run her business--Grandma Hardy's Craft Mall in Hardy for seven
years.
She is survived by, her husband, James Doyle Nelson of the home in Hardy: a
son, Kris Alan Nelson of Paragould: a daughter and son-in-law, Krystal
Annette and Bryan Hooten of Paragould: her parents, Cecil and Elleta (Rhynes)
Simpson of Rector: three wonderful grandchildren, Mika Shepperd, Max Hooten
and Sam Hooten: a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Terry Simpson of
Rector; a sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Allen Newell of Marmaduke.
A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing.

Clara Lorene Armstrong, 85, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday,
February 17, 2010 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She lived the past four
years in Wynne.
She was born October 29, 1924 in Clay County to the late George and Bertha
(Rutledge) Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis
Austin Armstrong; a daughter, Nancy Kaye Armstrong Utley; four brothers,
Cleatis, Willie, Reedy and James, as well as five sisters, Cora, Vinnie,
Viola, Dalley and Ruthie.
She was retired from Citizens Bank of Jonesboro where she worked as the
Dining Room Director. Mrs. Armstrong was of the Anglican faith and was a
member of Saint Timothy’s Anglican Church in Jonesboro. She regularly
attended Vanndale United Methodist Church while living in Wynne the past
several years.
Survivors include her grandson, Colonel Michael D. Utley, United States
Army; a grand daughter-in-law, Dayanne Utley of Wynne; one
great-granddaughter, Jessica Utley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral
Home in Jonesboro.

at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Mrs. Coleman was born
March 28, 1935 she was an active member of the Bethel Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Douglas Coleman. She
was also preceded by her parents, two brothers and one daughter-in-law.

2010, at her home. She was born April 10, 1927 in Indian Mound, TN., the
daughter of the late Sherman and Daisy Dennis. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Lee Daniel Dishong, four brothers, Frazier, Ed, Levi
and Gordon Dennis, two sisters, Hattie Trump and Catherine Holiday. She
attended Grace United General Baptist Church. Thelma loved fishing and her

Born January 5, 1931, Geneva Reece Hyde, 79, of Paragould passed away
Friday, February 19, 2010 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was
preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Hyde; parents, Jim and Sally
Lenderman Reece; and two grandchildren, Amy Stone and Huston Andis.

Henry Joseph "Bud" Schmuecker, 88, of Paragould, passed away Friday,
February 19, 2010, at Heritage Gardens of Senath in Senath, MO. Bud was born
June 20, 1921 in Paragould the son of the late Leo Joseph and Theresa Marie
Peters Schmuecker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hendrix
Schmuecker, sister, Marie Dickson, and brother, Leo Schmuecker.
Bud retired from the Paragould Fire Department, was a WWII veteran and
enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Bud was a
member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughters: Wyonia Pillow of Jonesboro, Tresea Dement
and Henri Childress of Paragould; grandsons: Shannon Kieffner, Rick Dement,
Joshua Kieffner and Gatlin Childress and six great grandchildren.
A public rosary will be held Tuesday from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. at Heath
Funeral Home with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. His life will be
celebrated Wednesday, February 24th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic

Louis Audell "Red" Ashcraft , 66, of Paragould, passed away Saturday,
February 20, 2010, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He
was born January 16, 1944 in Parkin, Arkansas the son of the late Odie and
Mattie Acuff Ashcraft. He was also preceded in death by his daughter,
Patricia Lynn Ashcraft, mother and father-in-law, Reverend Dewey and
Virginia Burke, two brothers and one sister. Red asked Christ to come into
his life November 17, 2007. He loved farming and the outdoors. He had a
great love for his grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them during his
retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years; Sharon Burke Ashcraft, of the home;
children: Jennifer & Tim Miller, Sherry Bowden & Fiance Steve Hanley, Rickey
& Judi Bowden, Sr; grandchildren: Destiny Bowden, Rickey Bowden, Jr., Daniel

Mary Alice Swindel
Ms. Mary Alice Swindel passed from this life to join family and friends
Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Greene Acres Nursing Home. She started
this journey on All Saints Day, November 1, 1917 in Greene County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Swindel and is
survived by twelve paternal first cousins, two who live in Paragould, Fred
Swindle and Bill Williams and four maternal first cousins.
Ms. Swindel was a graduate of A.S.U. and also attended the University of
Florida. She was a member of Alpha Tau Zeta Sorority and served as First
Vice President. Ms. Swindel taught school at Rice, Arkansas, and at
Lakeside. She taught 5th grade and was elementary principal at Greene County
High School. She taught ten years in Paragould and nineteen years at E.B.
Barrett in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ms. Swindel became a member of Dalta Kappa
Gamma an international society for teachers in 1949. She served as
Vice-President for ten years and Secretary for two years. Also, she was a
member of Arkansas Education Association and Greene County Retired Teachers
and served as chairwoman for Community Services of Greene County. She loved
telling about her Lakeside Senior Girls softball team Championship and her
work with student teachers of which she was very proud. Ms. Swindel was a
devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Paragould for many years and
served in a number of capacities.

Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Steeger officiating. Burial will follow in

Paul Mack Potter
Paul Mack Potter, 81, of Walcott, AR went to be with the Lord on February
20, 2010. He was born February 24, 1928 in Walcott, the son of the late
Robert Lee and Dora Potter.
He was a retiree of L.A. Darling, an active member of the Walcott Church of
Christ, and an avid fisherman. He loved gardening and supplied the whole
community with his harvest. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
and great-grandfather that will be missed by his family and all who knew
him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josephine Potter of the home;
three sons, Michael Joe Potter, Sr. of Bonifay, FL, John Robert Potter of
Jonesboro, and Michael Joe Potter, Jr. of Paragould; a daughter, Melissa
Suzanne Townsley of Gulfport, MS; a brother, Charles “Dink” Potter of
Jonesboro; and a sister, Lois Holt of St. Louis, MO; 9 grandchildren, Clint
Potter, Joshua, Bradley, and Jordan Townsley, Ben Bryson, Kandy Croxton,
James Wells, Wanda, and Kelly Reeves; and a great-grandson, Zayne Michael

from Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Zoe
was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith; son, Bobby Smith; her

Survivors include her sons, Wayne Smith, Brookland, Arkansas; and Shane
Smith, Paragould; three daughters, Melissa Walker and husband, Robbie,
Lorado; LeAnn Bryson and husband, Kelly, Paragould; and Linda Blazer, and
husband Tommy, Little Rock; grandchildren, Courtney, Shelby and Dylan

Tommy Lynn Shirley, 35, of Paragould, passed Monday, February 22, 2010. He
was born December 14, 1974 to Larry and Reba Martin Shirley. He was an
employee of Martin Sprocket & Gear as a machinist for 16 years. Tommy was a
member of Paragould Church of God and loved hunting and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Krissy Parson Shirley and daughter Abigail, of
the home, his parents; two brothers: Dwayne and Jami Shirley, Jeff and
Valerie Shirley; one sister: Melanie and Tim Walker, all of Paragould;
nieces and nephews: Zach, Natalie and Weston Shirley; Jazmyn and Tymra
Walker, all of Paragould; grandfather, Quinton Martin of Florida. He was
preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ann and Wain Shirley, and
maternal grandmother, Bernice Martin.

Donald Nels Olson, 86, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
Born October 10, 1923, in Owen, Wisconsin, he retired from Monroe Auto
Equipment. Mr. Olson served in the Army during World War II and received the
bronze star.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Ruby Rebecca Olson; a
daughter, Dorothy Ann Brown; and a son, Donald R. Olson.
Survivors include one daughter, Diann Hutton; a granddaughter, Nita Stayton;
and three great grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah and Michael.

Leon Cavitt, 73, of Paragould passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was a line superintendent
for North Central Electric Association in Milan, Mo., and a member of
Pollock Masonic Lodge No. 349 in Pollock, Mo.
On September 1, 2002, he was united in marriage to Martie (Hefner) Cavitt,
she survives.
Other survivors are one son, Rick (Jackie) Cavitt of Sikeston, Mo.; one
daughter, Kemberly (Dekota) Rice of Doniphan, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Dana
(Anthony) Faulkner of Paragould; two brothers, Eugene Cavitt of Jonesboro

Bitha Cavitt of Rector; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Robert Wood Kirk, 72, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at NEA Baptist
Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1937 in Paragould to the late Alex and Martha Kirk Sr.
and lived most of his life in Jonesboro. Mr. Kirk worked for Broadway
Packing Company for several years and retired from Colson Caster Corp. He
was of the Pentecostal faith and loved to golf.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Kirk; two daughters and their husbands,
Brenda and Jimmy Presley and Tammy and Eugene Sherman all of Jonesboro; a
son, Bobby E. Kirk of Jonesboro; two step-sons and their wives, Gary and
Rhonda Stringer of Bono and Randy and Sherry Stringer of Jonesboro; a
brother and his wife, Alex “Buck” and Martha Kirk of Colt; three grandsons,
Jason Presley, Eric Sherman and Kyle Sherman; two step-granddaughters,

Ernie Leonard Grimes, 66, of Paragould passed from this life, joining his
Marine brothers to guard the Gates of Heaven, Thursday, February 25, 2010.
He loved his family, nature and traveling. He served his country in the
Marines, fighting in three tours in the Vietnam War. He was born June 12,
1943, in Paragould to Herbert and Nancy Burkhammer Grimes, who preceded him
in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie Grimes; one son, Gregory Leonard
Grimes of Kingwood, Texas; three stepchildren, Carl Wayne Scherdin of Katy,
Texas; two daughters, Sgt. Donna K. Meckel of Fort Sill, Okla., and Kerry
Scherdin of Humble, Texas; one brother, Doyle Grimes of Paragould; and one
sister, Polly Dollar of Memphis, Tenn.

Virginia Bernice Richardson, 87, of Mountain Home, formerly of Paragould,
passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice
House. She was born April 3, 1922, in Paragould, to Roy A. and Hettie (Holt)
Joiner. She married LaMoyne Richardson on April 9, 1939, in Paragould. Not
only a beloved wife and mother, she was also a clothing designer and
homemaker and a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathi (Paul) Hensley of Mountain Home,
Virginia (Cal) Worthington of Charleston, S.C., and Gail (Johnny) Springer
of Athens, Ala.; one son, LaMoyne (Jerry Ann) Richardson Jr. of Paragould;
nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one
sister, Reba Stansbury of Paragould; four nieces; one nephew; and her great
uncle Maurice Holt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one
grandson, Trey Richardson; a brother, Robert; and sister, Mozelle.

James D. Kellim
Major General James D. Kellim (USAF Ret), 73, of O’Fallon, IL, born October
3, 1936 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010.
General Kellim graduated from Delaplaine (Ark.) High School in 1954. He
attended Memphis State University graduating in 1958, and later earned his
master's degree from Auburn University in 1971. He was commissioned through
the Reserve Officer Training Corps program and entered the U.S. Air Force in
October 1958. He earned his pilot wings in June 1964. The General is a
command pilot with more than 6,700 flying hours, including 328 combat hours
in the Republic of Vietnam. His military decorations and awards include the
Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster,
Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air
Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf
cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal with three
service stars and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.
He was promoted to Major General in April of 1987 and retired from the Air
Force March 1, 1990. He then went to work for the Boeing Company as the
Director of Field Services for the U.S. Air Force C-17, Globemaster III.
In addition to his many professional accomplishments, he will be remembered
as a man who loved the simple things in life. He loved reading, drinking a
great cup of coffee and watching his young grandchildren play in the waves.
A good day to him included dinner with his family then heading to the local
theater to watch a movie and enjoy a bag of popcorn. He saw God’s work in
all things. He appreciated the beauty of nature whether it appeared in the
form of a sunset or leaves on the trees in the spring. His family spent many
hours with him around the table as he gave advice on living and life. He
will be remembered by his family as a big personality; a man who loved God,
his country and the many different people he encountered on his journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond R. & Opal Kellim (nee
Driskill), 2 brothers, Bobby R. & Ronald R. Kellim
He is survived by 2 sons: Jim & Sandra Kellim of Peachtree City, Georgia &
Michael & Beth Kellim of Parker, Colorado, sister: Mary Kay & Loren Butler

Barbara Oden
Barbara B. Oden, 53, of Paragould, Arkansas, joined our Heavenly Father on
February 26, 2010 at Methodist University Hospital due to a short,
unexpected illness. She was born June 11, 1964 to her surviving mother, Rose
Ann Andis.
She is also survived by her eight sisters: Leatha Johnson, Jackie Blasdale,
Nora Reed, Theresa Miller, Marcia Dillon, Debbie Weaver, Becky Canady, and
Angel Ciminelli. Her two brothers: Bobby (Robert) and B.J. Andis. Five
children, John Andis, Kimmy Turner, Mikey Turner, Courtney Oden, and Rachel
Andis. Seven grandchildren Lexi Andis, Spencer Andis, Hope Ward, Tyler Ward,
Ashton Alvarado, Israel Alvarado and Tayden Gargus.
In addition, she is also survived by the love of her life, Bob Daniels; best
friend Mike Raney, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Cecil Andis and grandparents.
A memorial service will be held in Barbara’s memory on Thursday, March 4th,
at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. Graveside services will be
held Friday, March 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery.

Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born December 22, 1929 in Cardwell, MO. to William Jesse and Viola M.
Michael Wilcoxson. He married Mary A. Reynolds in Pekin, IL on April 26,
1950. She survives.
Also surviving are five children, Jerry Wilcoxson of Leoma, TN, Timothy
Wilcoxson of East Peoria, Patricia (Jimmy) Cox of Leoma, TN, Rick (Debbie)
Wilcoxson of Peoria, Bradley (Stephanie) Wilcoxson of Tremont; seven
grandchildren, Brandon, Troy, Brent, Katelyn, Taylan, Morgan, and Shane
Wilcoxson; several step grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Halm of MI; and
three brothers, Tony Wilcoxson of AR, Ralph Wilcoxson of TN, and Jessie
(Karen) Wilcoxson of MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Valerie Ergle; two
sisters; and four brothers.
Dobbin was a hard worker retiring from Kemp Mfg. in Peoria in 1992 after 25
years of service. He was a part of the East Peoria First Church of the
Nazarene. He liked being outdoors especially to work his farm in Arkansas
and his garden in East Peoria. All who knew him know he loved a good laugh
and had many nicknames for those he loved. He loved his neighbors and was
always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

Marie Hardin Street, 88, a longtime resident of Memphis, passed away at her
home, February 28, 2010. She was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas, the daug>nd graduated from Rector High
School in 1939.
A 1942 graduate of the University of Tennessee Nursing School, she served as
a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a retired nurse from
Methodist Hospital and a member of the Getwell Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David Elton Street.
She is survived by her son, David E. Street Jr. and daughter-in-law Angela
Molis-Street of League City, Texas; daughter Judith Conley of Memphis;
grandchildren Tanitha Moncier and her husband Brent Moncier of Murfreesboro,
Tenn., and James Conley of Memphis, and great-grandson Jared Moncier.
