Adam Franklin Warner
Adam Franklin Warner departed this life on
Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at Friendship Village West in Chesterfield,
Missouri at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
He was born April 3, 1909 in Alicia,
Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Choyce Warner.
He was united in marriage to Lorene Thomas
on December 2, 1928, who preceded him in death on May 8, 1974. He was a
retired farmer from J. C. Sloan Farms in Light, Greene County, Arkansas.
He worked for the Sloan Farms for more than thirty years.
Mr. Warner was a member of the Northside
Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Survivors
include one daughter, Brenda Zilka of Ballwin, Missouri. Many other
relatives and friends mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr.
Warner was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Harold Warner; two
daughters, Wanda Shelton and Ruth Ann Chesser and several brothers and
sisters.
Funeral
services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Higginbotham
Funeral Chapel, Walnut Ridge, Lawrence County, Arkansas.
Reverend Marion Stringer and Reverend Melvin
Shelton will be officiating. Music by Wayne Simpson.
Pallbearers: Greg Brady, Jarrod Brady, Scott Brady,
Rayburn Lyon, Leland White, and John Williams. Interment:
Old Military Cemetery, Sedgwick, Arkansas. Higginbotham Funeral Service,
Inc. of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas handled the arrangements.
Jerry Neal Thomas
Jerry Neal Thomas, 42, of Rector died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Paragould.
He was born Feb. 3, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo. He was a refrigeration
technician at Hussman Co. in St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Leo and Blanche Evers,
and Bob Thomas, all of Rector.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia (Evers) Smith of Rector; his father,
Jimmy Joe Thomas of Rector; his grandmother, Renis Thomas of Rector; three
brothers, James Thomas of West Alton, Mo., Robert Thomas of Granite City,
Ill., and David and Carla Thomas of St. Louis; two sisters, Debra Thomas of
Rector and Diane Tate of Lompac, Calif.; 11 nieces and nephews; and four
great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the the Rector V.F.W. Hall.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday for all family and friends.
Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Darrell Jones
Kenneth Darrell Jones, 60, of Hughes, formerly of Rector died Tuesday, Feb.
27, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Greene County. He was a mechanic and owner of
Ed's Boat Camp in Hughes. He was also a member of the Marmaduke Church of
Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noey Allen and Goldie Ina Thomason
Jones; two sons, Michael D. Jones and Kenneth D. Jones Jr.; a brother, Larry
Earl Jones; and two sisters, Maxine Sosa and Veona Pruett.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce McKay Jones of the home; four daughters,
Teresa Lynn Vangilder, Patricia Ann Parks, and Jennifer Cheryl Graves, all
of Marmaduke and Karen Deanna Douglass of North Little Rock; two brothers,
Wayne Jones of O'Fallon, Mo., and Houston Jones of Bourbon, Mo.; three
sisters, Judy Turner of Paragould, Leola Miles of Brookland and Parthy
Gossett of Jonesboro; and four grandchildren, Seth and Sierra Vangilder,
Jarrod Graves and Sarah Parks.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Tim
Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery, near
Marmaduke.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Agee, Terry Agee, Chad Agee and Merril Griffin.
Visitation will be at 6 this evening at the funeral home.
Waco Hester
Waco Hester, 83, of Paragould died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Baptist
Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born May 28, 1917, in Greene County. He was a retired farmer and
member of Alexander Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Hester; a son, Bill Hester; a
daughter-in-law, Joyce Hester; and a grandson, Mike McCarroll.
Survivors include his wife, Berenice Nettles Hester of Paragould; a son and
daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sue Hester of Paragould; a daughter and
son-in-law, Waca Lou and Gary McCarroll of Paragould; five grandchildren,
Anita Rowe, Scott Hester, and Michele Gramling, all of Paragould, Vicky
Yarbrough of Austin, Texas and Kim Rodgers of Nashville, Tenn.; and 11
great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mitchell Funeral Home in
Paragould with Jim McNeil and Philip Bynum officiating. Burial will be at
Finch Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Burtis Walker, Burtis Walker Jr., Timmy Evans,
Andy Evan, Bill Whitworth and Kyle Bynum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Amos Hill, Willard Ryley and Jimmy Nettles.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at Mitchell Funeral Home in
Paragould.
