Woodrow Wilson Jordan
 


Woodrow Wilson Jordan, 92, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born May 18, 1919 in Diaz the son of the late Linzy Jackson and Alta Mae Jordan. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Gearldine Reeves, Clarcie Lee Reynolds, Ernestine Blevins, Mary Pettifield, brothers, Hurrle, Burley, Charles and John Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. He was an Army veteran and of the Assembly of God faith.

He is survived by his wife: Lodema Jordan of the home; daughters: Jo Ann Young, Carol Tonner, Jeannie LeCourt, Linda Smith, Diane Hooker, Karen Powell; sons: Richard Jordan, Kenneth Jordan, Norman Jordan and seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 3rd, 10:30 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Michael Smith officiating.

Mary Carolyn Russell
 


Mary Carolyn (Wince) Russell, 66, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Mary was born October 28, 1945 in Paragould. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilburn Wince. Mary was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband: Larry Russell, of the home; mother: Lucille Ainsworth Yesh, of Paragould; sons: Rodney Combs of Paragould and Sean Combs of Mountain Home; step daughters: Shannon Fielder of Batesville and Kristin Richmond of Jonesboro; grandsons: Jacob Combs, Matthew Combs, Dylan Morgan; granddaughter: Allie Combs, Ashley Morgan, Hannah Fielder, and Kaitlin Fielder.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated Tuesday, December 6th, 1:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Mary Lois Yates



Mary Lois Yates, 81 of Marmaduke passed away at her residence on December 1, 2011. She was born February 15, 1930 to the late Tillman and Lela (Valentine) Gillis in Harrisburg, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Yates and a son: Joseph Yates, two brothers: Elvis Gills and Burl Gills.

Surviving Mary are two daughters: Mary Fletcher of Paragould and Karen Hensley of Cartersville, Georgia, three grandchildren:Khristie Kelly, Brian Fletcher and Mark Davis, four great-grandchildren: Madison, Christian, Carson and Brennen, one brother: Melvin Gillis, two sisters: Bernice Crone of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Levada Edwards of Clarkdell, Mississippi along with other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke with Kim Bridges officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Visitation will be Saturday 12:30 until time of service.

Herbert James Faries
 


Herbert James Faries, 57 of Rector passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born March 19, 1954 to the late William and Isie (Ragsdale) Faries in Blue Cane.

Preceding Herbert in death were his parents, his wife, Debbie Faries and a sister, Mary Morris.

Herbert is survived by his daughter and her fiancée: Brandi Faries and Troy Beadles and a daughter and son-in-law: Ashely and D.J. Johnson, all of Rector, six grandchildren: Ryder Collins, Tanner Faries, Sierra Beadles, Raina Beadles, Briana Johnson and Karrah Beadles, two brothers: Carl Faries of Kennett and Wayne Faries of Paragould, two sisters: Barbara Stallings of Rockford, Illinois and Ruth Johnson of Wood River, Illinois along with a host of nieces and nephews and other friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3rd, 11:00 a.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Jimmy Parrish officiating.
Interment will be at the Harvey's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Edward John David "J.D." Evans
 


Edward John David "J.D." Evans, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 in Hixson, TN. He was born June 13, 1928 in Greene County, Arkansas, son of the late Joseph Lee and Eddie Roan Myers Evans.

Ed was a member of Highland Plaza United Methodist Church and retired from MetLife Insurance Company. He loved travel, golf, a good crossword puzzle and being with his family.

Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Corbett) Evans; two daughters, Johnnie (Milan) Hill and Berta (Dave) Davidson; a son, David (Janice) Evans, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside memorial service will be held Monday, December 5th, at Hamilton Memorial North Cemetery, with Dr. David McNabb officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.

Robert Allen Justice

 

Robert Allen Justice, 52, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011.

He was born May 6, 1959, to Harold Justice of Paragould and the late Edna Moore.

Other survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Justice of Jonesboro; daughter, Renee Hoskins of Memphis; sisters, Sheila Snyder, Debbie Smith and Kathy Vowell, all of Paragould, and Ann Whitney of Valley Park, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, December 7th, 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza with burial in Linwood Cemetery at Paragould. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Ruth Jernigan, 88, formerly of Paragould, passed away Saturday, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Jernigan.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, December 7th, 11:00 a.m. at Horners Cemetery in Hornersville, Missouri.

Bentley Cole Tyler
 


Bentley Cole Tyler, 11 months old, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born December 15, 2010 in Paragould.

He is survived by his father, Josh Atnip; his mother, Amber Danaho; and a brother, Kayden Tyler, all of Paragould. Survivors also include his paternal grandparents, Rick and Regina Seeger, Brian and Terri Little; maternal grandparents, Vickie Tyler, and Harold and Cindy Tyler; great grandparents, Sharon Treat, Linda Atnip, and Velma Summers; and great great grandmother, Velma Stormes.

He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Dwight Little, Jimmy Atnip, Jackie Summers, Lloyd and Claudine Tyler, and Lela Robertson; and one aunt, Stephanie Seeger.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 7th, 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Denny Stormes officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Kevin Wade Jones

 


Kevin Wade Jones, 42, of Paragould passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at his residence.

Born January 6, 1969, in Paragould, he was a truck driver for Central Freight Lines, and a member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sauney Jones; his parents, R. J. and Dianna Jones; one son, Jacob Cody Jones, one stepson, Aaron West; one sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Tommy Covington; and two step grandchildren, Landon and Zerek, all of Paragould.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Alma Jones, Telpher and Mathel Cleveland; and one nephew, Cody Covington.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 7th, 4:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Ron Pickney officiating. Private burial will be at Pine Knot Cemetery.

Norman Melvin Cole

 

Norman Melvin Cole, 88, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at his residence.

Born October 28, 1923, in Greene County, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Cole was a formerly an employee of the Arkansas Highway Department, a carpenter and the Greene County Veterans Service Officer. Mr. Cole was an active member and former commander of the American Legion, a member of the Forty and Eight, the V.F.W. and other veterans’ organizations. He was a member of the Second and Walnut Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Ann Batey; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Stephanie Batey Emmert of Albany, Oregon, and Leigha and Shaun Roleson of Paragould. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Brittian, Reese, and Micha Roleson of Paragould.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Lucy Cole; and his wife, Emma Jean Cole.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8th, 1:30 p.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Teddy Joe White, 50, of Paragould, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Teddy Joe was born October 6, 1961 in Paragould. He was preceded in death by his father, Elbridge White.

Teddy Joe is survived by his wife: Sheila White; son: Jacob William White, both of the home; his mother, Audie Lee White; brothers and sisters-in-law: William Muriel and Marilyn Louise White, all of Paragould, Robert E. and Pamela White, of Winfield, MO; stepsons: Jamie and Joshua Orr; and several nieces and nephews.

Willodean Reynolds Bryson
 


Willodean Reynolds Bryson, 97, of Williford, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at Eagle Crest Hursing Home in Ash Flat, AR. She was born March 23, 1914 in Marmaduke, Arkansas the daughter of the late William and Tiny Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elves Bryson, and brother, J.D. Reynolds.

She is survived by her children: James and Sharon Bryson of Williford, AR, Pat Potter of Galloway, TN, Randal and LouAnn Bryson of Avon Park, Florida, DeWilma and Gary Cole of Williford, AR, Tom Bryson of Morrice, MI, Jack and Julie Bryson of Nampa, ID; sister: Burneda Wollard of Williford, AR; 27 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Robert Franklin Buchanan
 


Robert “Bob” Franklin Buchanan, 86, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was born February 17, 1925, in Greene County. Mr. Buchanan was a retired farmer and a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Buchanan of Paragould; two sons, Anthony Buchanan and Rick (Jane) Buchanan; one daughter, Shelia (Bill) Champion, all of Tulare, California; two stepsons, Patrick Southard, Brian (Kelly) Southard; and two stepdaughters, Laura (Donnie) Gage, all of Paragould and Kellie (Matt) Hoots of Branson, Missouri. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Wilma Pickens Buchanan; son, Joseph “Baby Joe” Buchanan; granddaughter, Toni Lynn; grandson, Anthony “Son” Buchanan; parents, Frank and Stella Buchanan; sisters, Peggy Franks, Joey Vowell, Geraldine Cline, and Pauline Riley.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Patricia Ann Beasley

 

Patricia Ann Beasley, 45, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, Jonesboro.

Born January 6, 1966, in Paragould, she was a welder and of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her parents, Louis and Barbara Franklin; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Wanda Franklin; and one sister, Sylvia Murray, all of Paragould.

Survivors also include three nephews, Justin Franklin, Brock Shipman and Ronnie Salyers; and two nieces, Mindy Lynn Murray and Kristin Cooper.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shiloh Marie Cross.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Gravesides service will be Monday, December 12th, 1:30 p.m. at New Friendship Cemetery with Marlin Ray officiating. The funeral procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:10 p.m., Monday.

Hubert W. Fowler

 


Hubert Birton Fowler, 92, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Hubert was born September 21, 1919, in Paragould and lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Melba Taylor Fowler; his parents, Anderson Birton and Florence Fowler, and two sisters: Frances Kee and Millie Chipman.

Survivors include three children: daughter Shirley and her husband James Orman of Jackson, Tennessee, Dr. Jim Fowler of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Diana Nagel of Little Rock; 2 grandchildren: Michael Fowler of Dallas, and Allison Bailey (Jack) of Little Rock; 2 step great grandchildren: Sophie and Billy Bailey; brothers Curtis Fowler (Charlotte) of Hot Springs and Wilburn Fowler of Homassas, Florida, and sister Bobera Johnson (Doug) of Ocala, Florida.

Hubert graduated from the University of Arkansas with an engineering degree and worked for DuPont Corporation in a critical war effort occupation manufacturing bombs during W.W. II. In 1946, he returned to Jonesboro to work for Craighead Electric Cooperative. After joining CECC, he organized the first engineering department and served as its chairman for 30 years. He was named General Manager and CEO in 1976 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1990.

Hubert served on the boards of Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation, Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc., and Electric Research and Manufacturing Company. He served as board chairman of both AECC and ERMCO. He was a member of the Arkansas Electrification Council, serving two years as president. He was also a member of the State Board of Electrical Examiners, having been appointed by both Governor Frank White and Governor Bill Clinton.

Hubert was a 65-year member of Central Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the building committees during many of the church building expansions. He also served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school superintendent.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, December 10th, at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 12:30 until service time in the chapel.

Pallbearers include Jack Bailey, Andy Fowler, Marvin Kee, Joe Masner, Rich Nagel, Jerry Taylor, Robert Kee and Dan Kee.

Hershel Jay Robinson
 


Hershel Jay Robinson, 89, of Paragould passed away Thursday December 8, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born May 30, 1922, in Goobertown to the late Gilbert and Linnie Robinson. He was a member of Lafe Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Jack and Jim Robinson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruby Robinson; one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Kathy Robinson of Jonesboro; two brothers, John R. and Joseph Robinson both of Paragould; three sisters, Wava Hollis, Wanda Downs and Wilma Horn all of Paragould; grandchildren Dara and Brad Williams of Brookland and Scottie and Felicia Robinson of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Robinson and Rebecca Williams.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, December 12th, 10:00 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Allen Newell and David Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dara Williams, Anthony Robinson, Scottie Robinson, Brad Williams, Gary McCord and Diane Mitchell. Felix Tate and the men of Lafe Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Raymond Hugh Alger Jr.



Raymond Hugh Alger, Jr., 55, of Paragould passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. Born July 14, 1956, in New Hall, California, he was the son of the late Raymond and Faye Rolland Alger and had been a long-time area resident. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren and working on old cars and Chevy trucks.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Alger of the home; three sons, Raymond Hugh Alger III, Patrick Dempsey Alger and Johnny Allen Alger, all of Paragould; one sister, Vonda Moya of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Raymond Hugh Alger IV, Shelby-leigh Nicole Alger, Alyssa Jade Alger, Johnny Allen Alger II, Bentley Dean Alger and Dgostina Earlene Alger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Dean Alger.

The family has requested private services and interment under the direction of Faith Funeral Services of Manila.

Thomas Wayne Irwin

 

Thomas "Buddy" Irwin, 74, formerly of Paragould, was born June 22, 1937 in Lake City, Arkansas to Ollie and Opal Irwin. He was called to heaven on, December 9, 2011, at St Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Dearin, his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillie Irwin, of the home; daughters: Janet (Tom) Newman of Leachville, Lisa (Scott) Throgmartin of Jonesboro; grandsons: Tommy (Julie) Newman, Chris (Stephanie) Newman, all of Paragould; granddaughters: Ashley Throgmartin, Amber Throgmartin, both of Jonesboro, Mandy (Derrick) Cox, of Paragould; great grandchildren: Trey Newman, Taylor Newman, Ashten Newman, Noah Newman, Kagen Newman, Ian Cox, Jordan Newman and Van Cox; sister: Bonnie Yow; brother: DeWayne (Mussels) Irwin, of Paragould and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mary Elizabeth Olcott
 


Mary Elizabeth Olcott met her Savior December 10, 2011, passing at the home of her sister Deloris in Paragould, AR.
Born on October 15, 1946 in San Diego, CA, Mary was the eighth child of twelve born to Elvin and Hattie Johnson.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers Herbert, Charles, and Phillip, sisters Bonnie Vonell, Linda Kay, Myrna Marie, and Betsey Sue, and firstborn grandson AJ.

Mary’s life is celebrated by sons Charles and Kenneth, daughters Connie Lueke and Terri Pepper, siblings and their spouses: Jerry and Myrna Johnson, and Larry Johnson, Deloris and Linus Roach, and Shelia and Earl Hartenstein, 11 grandchildren, along with loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends. Mary lived her life in service to her Lord as an example for others to follow. The main burden of her heart was to see her family join her in Christ. Mary loved being a grandmother. She also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and a Razorback fan as well. She loved fishing and being out of doors, and bird watching. Mary attended Grace Tabernacle in Blytheville, AR.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon, December 13th, 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, services follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel. Internment will be inShiloh Cemetery.

Dorothy Prevett

 


Dorothy was born June 17, 1926 in Marmaduke, AR, and passed away December 10, 2011 at the age of 85, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was married to Harold Prevett in Dayton, Ohio, June 11, 1949. They retired in Paragould, Arkansas after living in Michigan for 34 years.

She was a member of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church, and a former member of the Paragould Trellis Garden Club and the Arkansas Methodist Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children, Ron and Cathy Prevett of Grand Blanc, MI, Diane Lawrence of Northville, MI, Tim and Shelly Prevett of Grand Blanc, MI, Renee and Howie Miller of Highlands Ranch, CO, Teresa and Dale Vereen of Little River, SC, Carla and Mitch Miller of Tequesta, FL and Candice and Kevin Rawls of Paragould, AR. She is also survived by two sisters, Laverne Taylor of Marmaduke, AR and Audrey Richardson of Paragould, AR. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buren and Mary (Ferguson) Wright, her husband Harold Prevett in 2002, two brothers, Leonard Wright and Armond Wright, her sister Willodean Park, and her granddaughter Julie Ann House.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the Heath Funeral Home in Paragould. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14th, 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Royce Boling officiating. Burial will be in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.

Dillon McKinnis Brown
 


Dillon McKinnis Brown, 14, of Marmaduke passed away December 11, 2001 at Lebonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis TN. He was born March 11, 1997 in Paragould to April Brown. He was a Junior Marmaduke Fire Department Captain and a freshman at Marmaduke High School. He loved to duck hunt, fish, go frogging and work with the fire department.

Preceding him in death were his grandmother, Gewanda Boggs; grandfather, N.H. Brown and great-grandfather, Henderson Hyde.

He is survived by his mother, April Brown; one sister, Emileigh Brown; a half-brother, Eric Brown; grandfather, Pete Boggs; grandmother, Alleen Brown; great-grandmother, Christine Hyde and his brothers at the Marmaduke Fire Department.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 15th, 6:00 until 9:00 at Phillips Funeral Home. Jennifer Lynn Sweaney, 34 of Paragould, passed away Monday in Paragould. She was a graduate of Paragould High School.

Jennifer is survived by her son: Michael Gage Johnson; husband: Bradley Sweaney; parents: Patricia and Richard Griffith all of Paragould; brother: Shawn Griffith of Jonesboro; a special survivor, her chihuahua: Bella whom she loved very much, nephew: Christopher Shawn Griffith; great-nephew: Payton Griffith.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her daughter, Jillian Alexis Sweaney.

Verta Katherine Early

 


Verta Katherine “Katie” Early, 89, formerly of Paragould, passed away December 12, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. She was born January 15, 1922 at Walcott.

A hairdresser for 51 years, she owned and operated Katie’s Beauty Salon. Katie began her career working for Vera Blalock at the Deluxe Beauty Salon for 7 years. Katie loved people and made every effort to help her friends and customers have a better day. She always had a smile on her face and an abundance of love in her heart.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in her early years and served in various ministries teaching young people. In her later years, she was a member of East Side Baptist Church where she participated in numerous senior activities. She loved the Lord and witnessed for Him through her career and everyday life until the day she passed away.

Katie loved her family, speaking highly of them and quick to tell her loved ones how proud she was of them. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Tillman and Ora Bowlin Tillman of Walcott; her husband Bob Early of Paragould; and her two sisters Bernice Wilson of Paragould and Christine Clark of Texarkana, Arkansas.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Christa and Steve Gambill of Searcy, and Kathy and Jon Goodman of Dallas. She is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses, Stephenie and David Eason, Brent S. and Tilly Gambill, and Lisa and Matt Hawkins; three great-grandsons, Braden Robinson, William “Will” Hawkins and Carter S. Gambill; and one great-granddaughter, Haley Eason.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17th 10:30 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Brother Dennis Scudder and Brother Wayne Brightwell officiating. The burial will take place at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Ella Almeria “Nan” Reddick, 85, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, December, 13, 2011, at her home. Born September 17, 1926, in Paragould, she was a homemaker and a member of Southside Community Church.

She is survived by one sister, Joella Gibson of Paragould; two grandsons, Stacey McPherson and Steven McPherson, both of Paragould; and three granddaughters, Michelle Darr of Jonesboro, Wendy Harvey of Paragould, and Tiffany Jackson of Searcy. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Reddick; one son, Jerry Reddick; one daughter, Joan Morten; her parents, Hillis and Mary Waldrum; grandson, Brad Reddick; sisters, Mackie Kelley, and Mary Ida Meyer; and brother, Randal Waldrum.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 16th, 10:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Pat Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Sarah Javene Thurman, 90 of Paragould passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born January 6, 1921 in Beech Grove the daughter of the late Charlie and Mertie Brown Dearin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elgie Thurman, brother, James B. Dearin, sister, Mary Ida Horne. She was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sisters: Pauline Moore of St Charles, MO; Charlene Johnson, Margie Brewer both of Paragould.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15th, 9:00 a.m. until11:00 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will follow visitation Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Art Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Michelle Dianne Stacy



Michelle Dianne Stacy, 34, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in Jonesboro.

She was born March 14, 1977, in Jonesboro and worked several places as a nurse. Michelle was of the Baptist faith. She loved life, music, animals, her family and especially spending time with her nieces and nephew. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include her parents, Steven Roy Stacy and Dianne Stacy of Bono; two sisters, Stephanie Ann Stacy of Oklahoma City and Jennifer Stacy of Jonesboro; a brother, Steven Roy Stacy Jr. of Jonesboro; an uncle, Tom Stacy and wife Brenda of Willington, Ill.; an aunt, Lisa Massey and husband Jay of Newport; two nieces, Jaelyn Strickland and Leah Wilcox; and nephew, Keaton Strickland, all of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by an infant child, Madelyn Dane.

Graveside services will be Monday, December 19th, 2:00 p.m. at Crossroad Cemetery in Lorado with the Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Willene Jones, 74 passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro. She was born November 4, 1937 in Delaplaine to Dean and Inez Marie Ragsdale Cullum. She was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County, a homemaker, and a member of the Sharum Free Will Baptist Church in Pocahontas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvel Jones; parents; sister, Geraldine Gentry and brother, Bill Cullum.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon Davis and Ann Brady; son, Tim Poletti all of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Murlene Lowery of California, Pauline Jones of Smithville, and Pearline Reb of Corning; brothers, Jack Cullum of Walnut Ridge, Jerry Cullum of Indiana, Gene Cullum of Crossett, Arkansas and Jody Woodard of Walnut Ridge; step-brother, Odell Woodard; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Larry D. Meins, 64, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home of natural causes.

Born July 20, 1947 in Walnut Ridge, Larry moved to Jonesboro several years ago and lived most of his life here. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Lighthouse Victory Pentecostal Church in Jonesboro. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Midred Morgan Christopher; by a brother, David Christopher and a sister, Shirley Morgan.

Survivors include one son: Derek Meins of Jonesboro, three daughters: Dusty Meins of Fayetteville and Susan Shelley and Mary Beth Nelson, both of Jonesboro; 1 brother, Garry Christopher (Anita) of Lake City; 2 sisters: Donna Shelby (Charles) of Jonesboro and Judy Willfond of Atkins; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 19th, 10:00 a.m. at Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 400 Jonathan Street in Jonesboro, with Reverend Jason Stallings officiating. Burial will follow in Lorado Cemetery.

J. W. “Bud” Long, 84, of Paragould, passed away December 16, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born April 1, 1927 at Paragould, he was a retired manager for Servomation Vending Company, and a Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery W. and Diana J. Long of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Bill Brinks of Tallahassee, Florida; three grandchildren, Lance Loraine, Nathan Long, and Katherine Evans; four grandchildren, Zachary and Morgan Loraine, Zachary Long, and Liliana Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Newton and Annie Long; his wife, Martha Long, and by fourteen siblings.

Dr. Richard Jackson

 


Dr. Richard Jackson, 84, of Wynne, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011, in Wynne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Winnie Gay Jackson, and his son, Mark Jackson.

Dr. Jackson was born August 29, 1927 in Paragould. He attended Caruthersville, Mo., High School, Ouachita Baptist University and Southern College of Optometry, graduating in 1949.

Dr. Jackson joined the U.S. Navy in August 1946, serving during World War II. He was a member of Wynne Baptist Church and practiced optometry in Wynne for more than 50 years.

Survivors are his wife, Alva Jane McElroy Jackson of Wynne; son, Steve Jackson of Memphis; daughter, Jane Stoner and husband Joey of Collierville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jake, Will and Sam Stoner; and great-granddaughter, Maycie Claire Stoner.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Monday, December 19th, 1:15 p.m. in Crosslawn Cemetery with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Wynne Baptist Church.

Tammy Marie Cunningham

 


Tammy Marie Cunningham, 49, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, Jonesboro.

She was born January 25, 1962, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and was of the Baptist faith. Over the past eleven years Tammy helped many families and children through the HIPPY program. She worked her way up from a home based educator to assistant program manager of the Jonesboro Housing Authority HIPPY Program.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Ed Cunningham of the home; her mother, Helen Kelley of Paragould; two sons, Travis Edward Cunningham and Justin Cunningham, both of Paragould. She is also survived by one brother, Darrel Kelley of Jonesboro; and one nephew, Jody Kelley of Bono.

Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her father, Bud Kelley; and one brother, Don Kelley.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21st, 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Don Slayton officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

Frances “Granny” Taylor, 79 of Paragould passed away December 17, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born February 9, 1932 in Dutton, Arkansas to the late Sam Penn and Sythan (Weatherby) Penn. She was a member of Walcott Baptist Church and found much pride and joy in helping others.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Garnett F. Taylor; one brother; one sister and one great grandson, Demetric Ritche’.

She is survived by her two daughters, Michele Green of Abilene, Texas and Jennifer Taylor of Paragould Ark.; one brother, Roland Penn of Missouri; two sisters, Bessie Skirvin and Ruth Ingraham of Missouri; five grandchildren, Cathleen and Mark Green, Michael Chambers all of Abilene Texas, Daniel and Tanya Freytag of Paragould Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Mylic Ritche’ of Abilene Texas, Tiffiny Freytag, Alexis Resendez and Christian Ramirez of Paragould Ark.

Rosalee Frances Elliott, 75 of Walcott, passed from this life Saturday, in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bill, Jr. and Debbie of Harrisburg, daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Rudi Cagle of Leachville. Four grandchildren who were the joy of her life; Nathan Elliott, Holly (John) McKnight, Justin (Breann) Elliott and Aaron Cagle. She is also survived by her dear sister, Patricia McKay and two very special nieces and their families: Shanna (Rob) Barham and Amber (Lance) Johnson all of Portageville, MO; brother, Ken Dean of Memphis, TN, and a host of extended family, friends and her beloved Christian family at the Walcott Church of Christ. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first two great grandchildren in early 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Irene Dean of Cardwell, MO.
She loved her Lord and her family. She was always doing for others and was ever busy. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Mary Frances McDaniel, 83 of Paragould passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Mary was born November 27, 1928. She was a Homemaker, church volunteer and worked at Rhine Law Office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon McDaniel, parents, Robert and Muriel McCluskey Cox and sister, Bobby Joyce Campbell. Survivors include sons, Marcus McDaniel (Kim) of Jonesboro and Don McDaniel (Peggy S.) of North Little Rock, grandchildren Colen Neal McDaniel, Abby Kate McDaniel, Lauren Taylor (Matthew) and Leah McDaniel.

Gary Don Tatum



Gary Don Tatum, 62, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Born November 28, 1949, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, he was the son of the late John and Bernice Knight Tatum. He enjoyed fishing, working on small engines and he loved dogs, horses and his donkey.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Tatum of the home; three sons, Jeff Tatum and wife, Rachel, Aaron Hall and Chad Hall, all of Paragould; one daughter, Heather Anzelc of Decatur, Ill.; four brothers, Bobby Tatum, James Tatum and Billy Ray Tatum, all of Waterloo, Illinois and Ernest Tatum of Marmaduke; one sister, Janie Sue Nierstheimer of Jonesboro. He also leaves seven grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

The family has requested private services and interment under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.

Leo Edward Boyd went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2011. He was born May 21, 1916, to the late Joseph and Mary Boyd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Evelyn Boyd, daughter Freda Boyd, grandson, Jason Boyd, four brothers and four sisters. Leo was a charter member of West View Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School director for 25 years and trustee for 44 years. He retired from Riggs Wholesale. Survivors include children Jim Boyd (Diane) of Cullman, AL, Joy Cunningham (Jim) of Newark, AR, Harold Boyd (Sandi), Diane Acuff (Jay) and Kendall Boyd all of Paragould, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mark Allen Goodwin

 


Mark Allen Goodwin, 42, beloved son of Kay Monk Goodwin and the late Ray Allen Goodwin, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at home in Paragould.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: James A. and Laura M. Goodwin of Austin, Texas; aunt: Pam Davis Goodwin of Charleston, West Virginia; aunt and uncle: Linda and Mike Goodwin of Boerne, Texas; aunt: Linda Goodwin Seale of Bastrop, Texas; aunt and uncle: Lynn M. and Jim Monk of Little Rock, Arkansas and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray H. and Helen G. Goodwin and James and Birdie Monk.

Mark graduated from Ridgecrest High School in 1988, attended Hendrix College and graduated from Arkansas State University. He played trombone in his high school band and was a member of the quiz bowl team. He had a keen sense of humor, a brilliant mind, and never met a stranger. Mark was a friend to all, animals and humans alike, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Born January 10, 1935, Max Nelson, 76, of Marmaduke, member and deacon of Cappadocia General Baptist Church, passed away December 18, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vina Nelson, and granddaughter Heidi Richey, along with three brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine Horner Nelson of Marmaduke, and three daughters: Vicky Richey and her husband, Gary of Marmaduke, Sabra Porter and her husband, Tim of Conway, and Andrea Moleski and her husband, Stan of Pocahontas. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jeremy Richey and his wife, Tina of Marmaduke, Kyle Richey and his wife, Kathryn of Paragould, Hannah Reeves and her husband, Dustin of Conway, and Drew Porter of Conway. His great-grandchildren include Kirsten Richey, Kyndall Richey, Temperance Reeves, and Kamryn Richey. He also leaves behind his sister, Kay Huckabay and her husband Donald of Rector.

Randall Leon Ford



Retired Lt. Col. Randall Leon Ford, of Oakton, Virginia, was born at Marmaduke December 15, 1938, a son of Roy Ford and Rosie Foster Ford. He departed this life December 18, 2011 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1956. He attended Arkansas State University, graduated from the University of Mississippi and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1961.

He returned to ASU and received a master’s degree in history while on active duty in 1972.

After 24 years of active service, including a tour in Germany, two tours in Vietnam, a tour at NATO Land South in Izmir, Turkey, and service at several posts in the Military District of Washington, Randall retired in May 1986.

In 1989, he founded StarTech, a security company in Washington, D.C., where he continued to work until he sold the company in 2005.

He was an active member of the Falls Church Church of Christ where he worshipped from July 1975 until his death.

He is survived by Ann Hardin Ford, his loving wife of nearly 52 years. He is also survived by two sons, Dr. Randall Leon Ford Jr. “Randy” and wife Jennifer of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jefferson Matthews Ford of Oakton, Va.; and one grandson, Randall Leon Ford III “Rand” of Knoxville.

He is also survived by two sisters, Laura Ford of Pocahontas and Anna Gail Thompson, husband Eric and family of Springdale; one brother, Don Ford, wife Peggy and family of Memphis; as well as brothers-in-law, Dan Matthews, wife Gayleen and family, and Davis Matthews, wife Margaret and family, all of Imboden.

Lonnie Ray Wrinkle

 

Lonnie Ray Wrinkle, 70 of Marmaduke, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 in Victoria, Texas. He was born April 26, 1941 in Penrose, Arkansas the son of the late Raymond and Ozella Grimes Wrinkle. He was also preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Kadence Hawkins. Lonnie was a construction worker. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lavada Wrinkle of the home; son: Gary Wrinkle of Jonesboro; daughter: Renee Foster of Pocahontas; brothers: Joe Wrinkle of Pueblo, CO; Loyal and Charles Wrinkle both of Lafe; Harold Wrinkle of Marmaduke; Roger Wrinkle of Jonesboro; sisters: Sue Johnston of Lafe; Teresa Wrinkle of Hendersonville, NC; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The celebration of his life will be Friday, December 23rd, 5:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Al Kerst officiating. Visitation will follow the service 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Benjamin Project.

Darrell White



Darrell "Chuck" White, 77 of Marmaduke, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Med in Memphis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marmaduke, a Sunday School teacher for over twenty years and member of the Benevolence Committee. He loved the Lord and his church. His greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren. Chuck was also heavily involved in his community.

He was preceded in death by his father, Colon White, mother, Vasta White, brother, Murrell White and sister, Cora Dowler.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy, a son, David (Cindy) and a daughter, Dana (Joe). His grandchildren include Haley Mize, Amanda Weatherford (Corey), Andrew White (Brittany) and Monica and Eric McKinney. Great-grandchildren include Blain White, Cooper Weatherford and Cooper Bearden. He also leaves behind his brothers, Paul White (Dean): Wayne White and Loran White (Sarah) He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22nd, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Marmaduke First Baptist church. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 at the church. Interment will be at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery with Brother Dave White and Brother Kim Bridges will officiate.

Emma Azalee Bolick, 85 of Lafe, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born May 26, 1926 in Walnut Ridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Daniel Mitchem and Maudie L. Mitchell, husband, Miles Amos Bolick, son, Lawrence Bolick, six brothers, Earnest and Horace Mitchem, A. J., Irvin, John and Alonzo King.

She was a school cafeteria cook at Lafe, Oak Grove and Marmaduke School for over 30 years. She was a member at St John's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son: William "Bill" Bolick (Deb) of Madison, MS; step-son: Miles A. Bolick (Betty) of Leavenworth, KS; daughters: Brenda Stone (Jerry) of Lafe; Ann Tritch (Orin) of Paragould; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be Friday, December 23rd, 10:30 a.m. at St John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Curt Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow at St John's Cemetery.

Tommy Christmas

 


Tommy Christmas, 18, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Born September 28, 1993 in Jonesboro, Tommy had lived his life in the Jonesboro/Paragould area. He was a senior this year at Greene County Tech High School where he was a member of the Chamber Singers, Rotary Club, Key Club, and was president and founder of the Thespian Club. Tommy was active in the theater program at Tech. He had played the lead in several productions at the school. He was also active in the community theater at the Collins Theater in Paragould. Tommy was very much aware of the needs of others. He had volunteered in a soup kitchen in Little Rock and raised money for a local animal shelter. He was known to help people in time of need and others depended on him. He picked his little brother up from school every day. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Paragould. He was also very involved with the Youth Advisory Council for the entire Diocese in Arkansas. In this capacity, Tommy helped to plan and implement youth retreats statewide. He was instrumental in the planning of these events. Tommy had planned to enter college after graduation as a pre-med major.

He is survived by his parents, Ernie & Mary Ann Christmas and Stacy Wicker; his brother, Trey Wicker, all of Paragould; his grandparents, Helen Christmas, Lynda & Edward Smith, Lorene Murphy; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, “Pop” Tom Christmas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church Thursday, December 29th, 10:00 a.m. with Father Jack Vu and Rev. Phillip Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Paragould. Emerson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Dustin Murphy, Anthony Hunt, Matt Robbins, Hunter Phelps, Chris Phelps, Zakk Frahler, and Jeremy Smith.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home followed by the Rosary.

Mackenzie Beary
 


Mackenzie Beary, 11, of Finch Community passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at her residence. She was born July 2, 2000 in Jonesboro to David and Teresa Beary. She was a 6th grader at Brookland Middle School and was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was involved with AWANA. She also enjoyed playing volleyball for the NEA Junior Olympics and snow skiing.

Survivors include her father, David Beary of the home; three brothers Creede Beary of the home, Corey Lammers and Kyle McGee, both of Brookland; a sister, Keeley Beary of the home; grandparents, JD and Ann Beary of Walnut Ridge, Charles and Sue Lammers of Brookland, and Donnie and Betty Dotter of Jonesboro; Great-grandparents, Virgil and Dorothy Lammers of Jonesboro; and three uncles, Jason Lammers of Jonesboro, Jonathan Beary and Jarrod Beary, both of Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Beary.

Services will be Friday, December 30th, 1:00 pm, at Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

P.E. Moore, Jr., 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born March 30, 1941 in Greene County to Pursa Emerson and Estelle Cromwell Moore. He worked at Barton Lumber Co. as a roofing foreman from 1962 through 1977. He and his wife founded Jonesboro Roofing Co. January 1, 1978 and retired in 2000. He was member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church and the Masters of Men. He loved hunting, spending time at the lake and traveling with his family.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lonnie Moore.

Survivors include his loving wife, Arleta Holland Moore; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lisa Moore of Jonesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Kevin Pierce of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Brandon Moore, McKenzie Pierce, Meredith Pierce and Myles Pierce; seven brothers and their wives, John and Louise Moore of Cherokee Village, Elmer and Shirley Moore of Clarkston, MI, Leeman and Judy Moore of Ridgeway, IL, Carl and Sue Moore of Bono, Kenny and Tammy Moore of Bono, Leonard Moore of Bono, and Jerry Moore of Pocahontas; and two sisters and their husbands, Inez and Lendy Lenderman of Light, and Ruthie and Larry Gibbens of Ravenden.

Albert Lee Gilliam
 


Albert Lee Gilliam, 66 of Paragould passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born October 7, 1945 in Paragould to Clarence and Velma Gilliam. He was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He loved to ride his motorcycle, go hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Cooley and Clarissa Gilliam both of Paragould; two brothers, Donald Gilliam of Memphis and Paul Gilliam of Marmaduke; two sisters, Vernice Potter of Paragould and Linda Fears of Stanford; five grandchildren, Kordova Winberry, Mitchel and Curtis Cooley, Zachary and Jessica Holland.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Roland and Kenneth Gilliam.

Martha Sue Johns, 78 of Paragould passed away Monday December 26, 2011 at her residence. Martha was born January 5, 1933 to the family of William and Mary Austin Allen. She was a business owner and owned Affordable Medical in Paragould and Jonesboro. She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Johns, parents, daughter, Debbie Thomasson; grandson, Austin Stokes and 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gregory Stokes and Nancy Ann and Ted Spillman all of Paragould, grand children, K. J. and Andrew Spillman, Kimberly and Hannah Stokes, great grandchildren, Teddy Joe and Alexander Spillman and Hallie Gilmore.

 Cheryl Lynn Turner, 63, Paragould passed away December 27, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Dixie. She was retired from Greene County Memorial Gardens.

 She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Richardson; and mother, Dorothy Hampton.

 She is survived by her husband, Randy Turner of the home; son, Timmy Hopkins of Paragould; daughters, Jesslyn Bridges of Jonesboro, Susan Hopkins and Brandy Tuner, both of Paragould; brothers, Dewayne Richardson of Beech Grove; Kent Hampton and Keith Hampton, both of Paragould; sister, Marilyn Mann of Paragould.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a Navy veteran of WW II.

Born April 26, 1952, she was the daughter of the late David and Francis Lane.

Tommy Dale Seymore, Jr., 29, of Manila, passed from this life Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born at Paragould, he had lived most of his life in Monette and Lake City, and had recently moved to Manila. He was a 2000 graduate of Riverside High School and a member of the Bethabara Baptist Church near Lake City.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda Kay and Steve Lindley of Manila; one brother, Jason Scercy of Mountain Home, Ark.; one sister, Jessica Collins of Manila.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 3rd, 2:00 p.m. at Cain Island Cemetery near Lake City.

Rickie Lee Forbs, 59, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Northeast Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born March 29, 1952 in Red Onion, Arkansas. He was owner and operator of Forbs Tractor Service and was a coordinator at Monroe Auto Equipment. Rickie was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, loved his tractor, singing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Tina Forbs, of the home; mother, Bert Forbs of Paragould; daughter and son-in-law: Mysti and Ray Imler of Lake City; sons and daughters-in-law: Ben and Tricia Forbs, Nate and Wendy Forbs; daughter and son-in-law: Misty and Dale Gibson, all of Paragould; grandchildren: Cody Forbs, Thax Armstrong, Sierah Armstrong, Piper Mitchem, Trenton Forbs, Valley Mitchem, Jaxson Forbs, Jayme Forbs, Zane Gibson, Jessa Forbs, Silas Gibson, Joseph Gibson and Jacob Gibson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donnie and Glenda Forbs of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Bruce and Brenda Forbs and Florence, AL, Roger and Sharon Forbs of Marmaduke, and Alan Forbs of Holcomb, Missouri.

Betty Lou Johnson, 72 of Paragould formerly of Hooker passed from this life Saturday December 31, 2011 at the St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on February 1, 1939 to the late William and Viola (Earp) Eaker in Greene County.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Johnson, six brothers and one sister.

Ms. Johnson is survived by two sons: Steve (Melissa) Johnson, and Ricky Johnson both of Paragould, one sister: Reba Eaker of Paragould, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emma Massey; her husband, Elmer Krause, and by four sisters.
