James Walter Stewart
James Walter Stewart, 70, of Paragould, passed away
Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Stewart was born May 21, 1939, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was retired
from the U.S. Air Force, and of the Christian faith.
Survivors include one son, James Robert Stewart of Fort Lauderdale, Florida;
one daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Anthony Jones of Paragould; and one
sister, Charlotte Miller of Frankfort, Kentucky. He is also survived by
three step grandchildren, Priscilla Jones, Shane Jones and Greg Jones of
Arizona; two step great grandchildren, Tristan and Loren Jones; and by three
nephews and a niece.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mitchell Funeral
Home, Paragould, is in charge of arrangements.

Merrill Jack Bailey
Merrill Jack Bailey, 74, of Paragould passed away December 1, 2009, at
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born November 10, 1938, in Oxford,
MS., to the late Merrill and Ethel Bailey.
He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi at Oxford and worked 32
years as an adjuster for Southern Farm Bureau in Jackson, Miss. He loved the
outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bailey; two sons, Joseph D. Sando of
Dallas, Texas, and Barry Sando of Highland Village, Texas; one daughter,
Terry (Johnny) Johnson of Laqouvista, Texas; one sister, Dolly Metcalfe of
Brandson, Miss.; five grandchildren, Cole Johnson, Joseph R. Sando, Brooke
Sando, Camerson Sando and Mallori Sando.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral
Home. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Cardwell Cemetery.

Margaret Harris Hodges, 85, of Bay Village passed away Wednesday, December
2, 2009, at Greene Acres Nursing Home, Paragould.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jeannette Mowery of Paragould; two
sons, Milburn Hodges of Tupelo, MS., and Ronnie Hodges of Overland Park,
KS., six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild;
and many other family and friends.

Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial

Brenda Louise Roush, 66, of Knobel passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at
her residence. She was born August 26, 1943 in Paragould the daughter of
Armone and Viola Whitaker Lang. She was a homemaker and of Baptist belief.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Marie Clifton and
sister, Sherry Rinks.
Brenda is survived by her husband, James William Roush of the home ; sons,
Willis Mayfield of Black Oak, Timothy Mayfield of Tennessee Colony, TX,, and
Terry and David Roush of Paragould; step sons Jimmy Roush of Paragould,
Tommy Roush of Knob, Arkansas and Ronald Roush of Paragould; step daughters,
Barbara Cole of Paragould, and Donna Marie Reed of Walcott; sisters, Retha
Hawkins of Leachville, Betty Knuckles of Bono, and Teri Robson of Jonesboro;
17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday at the Heath Colonial
Chapel with Reverends Marlin Ray and George Hagood officiating. Burial will
follow at Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m.

John Ellis Back, 77 of Jonesboro, formerly of Paragould passed away Friday,
December 3, 2009 at his daughters residence. Born September 13, 1932, John
was retired from the U. S. Army and Emerson Electric. He was a member of the
2nd and Walnut church of Christ.
Preceding John in death were his parents, Joseph and Anna Marie Gerath Back;
1st wife, Elsie Back; 2nd. Wife, Mary Back; sons, John Delbert and Gary
Back; brother, Joseph Russell Back. Survivors include daughter and
son-in-law, Debra and Dewayne Eubanks of Jonesboro; sisters, Katherine Graul

George Elzie Ray, 85, of Paragould, passed away Saturday,
December 5, 2009 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. George was born July
8, 1924 he was the owner and operator of George's Ray's Drag Strip for 49
years. He was of Church of Christ belief.
Survivors include his wife; Bonnie Ray of the home; stepdaughter and
stepson-in-law: Michele and John Dulaney; stepsons and stepdaughter-in-law:
Kenneth Bellomy, Ron and Robin Bellomy; special grandson: Tyler "Fred"

Rachael Juanita Baker, 88 of Marmaduke passed away December 6, 2009 at the
Kennett National Health Care. Juanita was born May 18, 1921 to the late
Luther and Blanche (Fouts) Rodgers in Hornersville, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, her husband Willie Baker preceded her in death
and two sisters: Nora Westbrook and Esther Rodgers.
She is survived by one son and his wife: Bill and Debbie Baker of Rector,
two daughters and their husbands: Kay and Paul Beaton of Greers Ferry and
Kathy and Dewayne Rogers of Paragould, seven grandchildren: Kenny Baker,

Born February 16, 1922 James Edward Holcomb, 87, of Monticello, Arkansas
formerly of Paragould passed away December 8, 2009 at Jefferson Regional
Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was a World War II, Navy Veteran and served
in the National Guard.
Preceding him in death are his parents Joe and Olivia Holcomb of Paragould;
3 brothers: Jesse, Bill and Jerry Holcomb; and 2 sisters: Juanita Holcomb
and Anna Roberson.
Survivors include four sons, Eddie (Judith) Holcomb of Pine Bluff, Arkansas,
James (Kathy) Holcomb of Jonesboro, Arknasas, Johnny (Janet) Holcomb of
Lakeland, Florida, and Ted (Dawn) McMurry of Montrose, Michigan; 3
daughters: Karen (Van) Brown of Monticello, Paulette Holcomb of Seattle,

Stella Irene Pauley
Born October 29, 1918, Stella Irene Pauley, 91, went to be
the Lord welcomed by her loving husband Rev. Henry Pauley, Tuesday, December
8, 2009 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Stella and Henry were married
April 3, 1944, and Henry passed away December 11, 1990. After Stella moved
to the Mini-Rise in Paragould she had a hard time staying in her apartment.
Stella would go around in the neighborhood gathering cans. The people in the
neighborhood fondly called her "The Can Lady" She will be missed by a lot of
people. Stella and Henry farmed several years in Greene and Clay County.
They were to pastor several churches over a 40 year period of time.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Henry Clay Pauley;
parents, William Calvin and Minnie Myrtle Plumlee Robertson; brothers,
Willie, Rex and Marvin Robertson and an infant brother; sister, Gladys Faye
Robertson.
Survivors include brothers, Harlin Robertson of Orville, CA, Tonie Robertson
of Riverbank, CA and Conie Robertson of Junction City, CA; sister, Stacie
Pickering of Orville, CA, several nieces and nephews.

Flo and Phil Jones Hospice Home. She was born January 15, 1938, in Walnut
Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Stella Marshall Massey
Sr.; three sisters, Sue Cline, Mary Wilson and Bonnie Fender; a brother,
Pete Massey; and a grandson, Kim David Swartzlander.

Mary Watson, 63, of Paragould, passed away Thursday,
December 10, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born May 13, 1946, in Hobbs, New Mexico, Mrs. Watson was a homemaker and of
the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband, James Watson of the home; one son, James
Keith Watson of Cherokee Village; two daughters and a son-in-law, Annette
and Jamie Morgan, and Penny Conger, all of Paragould. She is also survived
by two brothers, Patrick Stowers of Marianna, and Hubert Stowers of
Jonesboro; one sister, Nancy Hall of Cabot; seven grandchildren; and four
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Irene Stowers; one
brother, Loyd Stowers; and one sister, Judy Cook.

Velma Ruth Robert
Velma Ruth Robert, 86, of Walnut
Ridge, passed away December 10, 2009, after a diagnosis of liver cancer just
over a month ago.
Born March 23, 1923, in Beech Grove, she was the youngest of five children
born to the late William Thomas and Louisa Hooten Campbell.
Although Velma's father passed away when she was only 18 months old, her
mother instilled them with great work ethics and Christian principles,
working through the 1920s and 1930s with ingenuity and modesty.
She attended Big Brown School in the eighth grade, where she met future
husband, Manford Robert. She graduated as salutatorian from Delaplaine High
School in 1941. Velma and Manford were married November 1, 1941. After he
returned from World War II, they eventually bought a dry goods store that
was later turned into a very successful shoe store that stayed in business
for almost 50 years in Walnut Ridge.
She was a humble, but intelligent lady, with a sound business mind. Never
judging and always providing help when no one was expecting or looking.
Velma put the needs of others before her own. She was a caretaker of loved
ones and cats. She lived simply and gave her life to the service of others
without hesitation or regret. She had that "keep on keepin' on" attitude,
running the race with all her might.
She loved her family dearly, and modeled an exemplary life in how to treat
others, how to hold joy in her spirit during difficult times, and how to
love Jesus Christ. She was a loving and dedicated friend and neighbor, and a
faithful member of Main Street Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge. For over 50
years, she was an active member of the Business and Professional Women's
Club of Walnut Ridge.
The greatest legacy she has left is the drive she had for life, her
willingness to never give up, and her perseverance to be Christ-like.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Robert, Cabot, a son, Lavelle Robert
and wife Kaye, Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Lillian Mock, Walnut Ridge; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Main Street Church of Christ.
Burial in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral
Home.

Imadell Shipman, 82, of Paragould, passed away December
12, 2009 at Belle Meade Health Care. Born March 18, 1927 in Greene County,
she was a retired waitress, former owner of Imadell’s Flea Market, and was
of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by seven sons, Larry Marion Shipman of Doniphan, Missouri,
Jerry Don Shipman of Paragould, Roger Allen Shipman of Paragould, Stephen W.
Shipman of Marmaduke, Robin Keith Shipman of Paragould, Kevin Dell Shipman
of Paragould, and Britt Lee Shipman of Paragould; three daughters, Shelvia

Teresa Lammers Beary, 35, of Finch, passed away on
Monday, December 14, 2009 from injuries received in an auto accident. She
was born in Jonesboro on July 26, 1974. Mrs. Beary was employed at Post
Foods where she had worked for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of
Brookland High School, a member of Brookland Baptist Church, and loved
reading, crocheting and, most of all, spending time with her children.
She leaves behind her loving husband, David Beary;

Beary of the home; two daughters, Keeley Beary and Mackenzie Beary both of

She was born the daughter of the late Andy and Leola Edgar Schug on March
30, 1921 in Lester, Arkansas. Her husband, Alfred Newsom and brother, Claude
Schug also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws: Rick and Dorothy Newsom of
Paragould, Charles and Linda Newsom of Pocahontas; sister: Roberta
Cunningham of Pueblo, Colorado; grandchildren: Drake Newsom, Keelen and

Mark West Jr., 72, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at St. Bernard’s
Hospice House after an extensive illness.
Mr. West was born August 8, 1937, to the late Mark West Sr. and Bertha Mae
Walker West in Collier Township, Greene County, AR. Mr. West was proud of
his American Indian ancestry, taught dance, won dance contests, worked as a
carpenter, was an avid nature lover and enjoyed spending time with his
friends and family.
Survivors include companion and best friend, Sue Parker; four sons, Gary
Wayne West, Billy Ewin West, Darrye Gaylon West and David Lee West; one
daughter, Marci Louise West; five brothers, Sam West, Donald Gene West,
Hubert West and Joe Henry West; two sisters, Mary Jane Bresna and Dorothy
Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Chris
Carpenter, Danny West, Joe West, Bill West and Jim West; and three sisters,
Patsy Eaton, Betty Williams and Earlene Carpenter.
A memorial service will be Saturday, December 19th, 4:00 until 6 p.m. at the
Christian Care Center, 4904 Old Walcott Rd, Paragould.

Daveda Christine Misenhimer
Daveda Christine Arms Misenhimer, 81, passed away Wednesday, December 16,
2009 in Jonesboro.
Born February 23, 1928, she is preceded in death by her husband W.W. “Bill”
Misenhimer and her parents, Cecil and Lillian Arms.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and June Misenhimer,
daughters and sons-in-law Beth and John Wisner, Mary Anne and Ben Pickard
and Carol and David Evans, eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
Daveda actively served in many community, civic and business endeavors in
Paragould for over 57 years. Most notably, she was Volunteer Coordinator for
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, an active member of the First United
Methodist Church and Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:30 P.M. at First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Tom Letchworth officiating.
Private family burial will take place before services in Linwood Cemetery.

Charles J. Okle Sr.
Charles J. Okle Sr., 95, a resident of Pine Bluff, passed away Wednesday,
December 16, 2009, at Davis Life Care Center.
Born September 26, 1914, in Jonesboro, he was a son of Charles F. and Minnie
Myrtle Hill Okle.
Mr. Okle was reared and received his early education in Paragould where he
attended St. Mary’s Parochial School. He was a graduate of the Subiaco
Academy.
Mr. Okle was an engineer for the Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific railroads
for 45 years, retiring on May 28, 1982. Charles J. Okle Sr. married Margaret
Messner on Dec. 26, 1940, in Paragould. Mrs. Okle preceded him in death in
June 19, 2000, after 59 and one half years of marriage.
Mr. Okle was a member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. He was also a
member of the Jacob Brump Lodge No. 160 of the Free and Accepted Masons, and
the Locomotive Engineer Lodge.
Mr. Okle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, James
Okle; and one sister, Agnes Goebel.
Survivors include one son, Charles J. Okle Jr. of Pine Bluff; and one
granddaughter, Stephanie Shaw of Hot Springs.
Visitation will be this evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at Ralph Robinson & Son
Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Ralph
Robinson & Son with the Rev. Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will follow
in Graceland Cemetery directed by Ralph Robinson & Son. Masonic rites will
be by Jacob Brump Lodge No. 160 of the Free and Accepted Masons.

James J. W. (Jim) Cook, Jr. was born August 30, 1920 in Malden, Missouri to
James W. Cook, Sr. and Ethel Louise Cook. He departed this life on December
17, 2009.
Jim was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad, a member of Malden Methodist
Church, a model railroader and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Alan
and Linda Parson of Paragould; granddaughter and husband, Krissy and Tommy
Shirley of Oak Grove; grandson and wife, Casey and Heather Parson of
Paragould; great granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Shirley of Oak Grove; and

Carey Gene Case was born Sunday, October 8, 1972, son of
late A.L. Case and Rita Davis Sloan, and passed away Thursday, December 17,
2009 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 37 years 2
months and 9 days. He was born in Paragould, and had lived most of his
lifetime in Trumann. He was disabled and a member of the Eastside Baptist
Church.
Mr. Case was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Rita and Robert Sloan of
Trumann; two brothers, Randy Case of Trumann and Chris Sloan of Jonesboro;
one sister, Angela Case of Trumann; and a nephew Tyler Brooks of Trumann.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Eastside
Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial
will follow in the Keller’s Chapel Cemetery in Jonesboro, under the

Billy Ray Toone, 61, of Searcy, formerly of Marmaduke, passed from this life
Sunday, December 20, 2009, at his residence.
He was born October 20, 1948, in Marmaduke to the late Lawrence and Flora
Robertson Toone. Mr. Toone was of the Methodist faith and worked for many
years as a truck driver for Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela King Toone of the home; a daughter and
son-in-law, Tangy and Kelly Byrd of Ocala, Fla.; stepsons, Tommy and K.C.
McFarland of Texas; two wonderful grandsons, Cody and Caleb Byrd of Ocala; a
brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Emma Lou Toone of Marmaduke; a nephew,
Mark Toone; nieces, Cindy Toone and Letitia Baldwin. He is also survived by
his best friend, Rambo.

Kenneth Edward Whitehead, 89, of The Colony, Texas, formerly of Jonesboro,
passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009.
He was born July 9, 1920, near Paragould. He was retired from General
Electric after 28 years and proudly served in
the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Minton Whitehead; his parents,
Charles and Annie Bell Whitehead; a brother, Charles Whitehead; and two
sisters, Wilma Crafton and Lavieda McMillin.
He is survived by his daughter, Gracie Love of The Colony; two grandsons,
Christopher and Terry Love; and five great-grandchildren.

James Presson
James "I. B." Presson, faithful Christian, loving husband,
father and grandfather, passed away December 21, 2009, at Greene Acres
Nursing Home in Paragould, Arkansas. He was born in Cochise County, Arizona,
January 16, 1926, grew up in Halliday community, Arkansas, and graduated
from Marmaduke High School.
He served in the Army in WWII and received a Purple Heart for injuries
received during battle in the Philippines. He was happiest when serving the
Lord and surrounded by his family, and enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.
He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired as plant superintendent
from Foremost Dairies. He was a deacon and member of New Haven Baptist
Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edith Presson, and
sisters Nada Neusel and Shirley Robbins. He is survived by his wife and the
love of his life, Betty Presson, one sister, Wanda Cartwright of Monroe,
Louisiana, daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie Miller of Springdale, Arkansas,
Karla and Rex Blackwood and Ann and Ron Pickney, of Paragould,, and one son
and daughter-in-law, Ashley and Teresa Presson of Paragould, nine
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many
friends.

Ms. Mangrum was a loving mother, daughter and sister, she had a beautiful

George Elliott Hurt, 73, of Marmaduke passed away December 22, 2009, at the
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
He was born December 20, 1936, to the late Clarence Robert and Ethal
"Bowman" Hurt.
He was of the Baptist faith, served a term in the Army and was a mechanic
for many years in the oil fields of California.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Mae "Finley" Hurt of the home; two
daughters, Georgia Massey and husband Wallace of Rector and Donna Wheat of
Rector; one brother, Larry Hurt of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; nine grandchildren,
four great-grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends.

Marvelle Swindle Harmon
Marvelle Swindle Harmon of Sherwood, Arkansas, 82, left this earth to be
with her heavenly father surrounded by her family on December 22, 2009, at
Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Marvelle was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas, on April 1, 1927, to Lawson and
Lutie Swindle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, the
late Mayor Bill J. Harmon Sr. of Sherwood; her parents; her brother, Robert
Swindle, and her sister, Velda Hammons.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons and one daughter, Billy
J. Harmon Jr. and wife Sue of Sherwood, Hank Harmon and wife Diane of
Carrollton, Texas, and Lampe Mo., Charlie Harmon and wife Monica of Sherwood
and Mary L. Harmon of New York, N.Y. She is also survived by 11
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a
host of friends, all who loved her dearly.
She retired after 37 years of teaching in Arkansas schools, spending her
last 24 teaching fourth grade in Sherwood. She was an avid reader and an
active member of First Baptist church of Sherwood since 1966. She was the
Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 2005. She was also always
active in her community and was a past member of the Sherwood Hometown
Health Coalition and the Sherwood History Book Committee, which wrote the
2002 book, "The Signs Still Say Sherwood."
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be missed
dearly. How many years has it been, however since she had spent Christmas
without her husband, Bill, and this one won't be any different. She will be
celebrating Christmas with him, and with Christ himself.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, December 27th, 2:00 until 4:00 at North
Little Rock Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 28th, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist
Church of Sherwood, with burial following at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills in

Mr. Harig retired in 1988 as president and chief executive officer of
Darling Store Fixtures. He started his career with the company in Bronson,
Mich., and after moving to Paragould, continued to serve as president for 26
years. He was on the board of the National Association of Store Fixture
Manufacturers.
He was involved with many community service projects, serving as president
of United Way, American Heart Association, a volunteer for the Cancer
Society, American Diabetes Association, a past member of the Arkansas
Methodist Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and was a veteran of the U.S.
Navy.
Mr. Harig was a talented photographer and an active member of Center Hill
Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Harig; four sons and daughters-in-law,
James and Cindy Harig of Labadie, Mo., Michael and Donna Harig of Olive
Branch, Miss., Stephen and Candy Harig of Calera, Ala., and Thomas and
Stella Harig of New Mexico; two daughters, Lynda Dach and her husband Carl
of Palm Desert, Calif., and Lois Harig of Battle Creek, Mich.; a stepson,
Craig Watson of Searcy; a stepdaughter, Karen Farley and her husband Bill of
Steele, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at the Center
Hill Church of Christ with George Robb, Terry Sanders and Bill Tripp
officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening, 5:30 until 8:00 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Harig, Kevin Harig, Luke Cooper, Paul
Schandevel, Melvin Sonney and Darrell Webb.

Alice Jerone Evans, 92, formerly of Paragould, passed away
Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Evergreen Healthcare, Rector.
Born January 9, 1917, in Paragould, Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member
of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Evans of Paragould and Jerry Evans of
Brookland; one daughter, Janet Myles of Marmaduke; and two sisters, Lou
Butler of Sawyer, Michigan, and Demetra Lockard of Kingman, Arizona. She is
also survived by six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and by three
great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parrish Evans; her parents, Pat
and Dovie Robinson; one daughter, Judy Evans; and one sister, Faustina
Phillips.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2nd, 10:00 a.m., at the Mitchell
Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould. Burial will follow in the Greene County
Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the
funeral home.

Merita Mae Winemiller, 99, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away
December 30, 2009 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born on
July 29, 1910 in Augusta, Arkansas, she was a homemaker, former baker and
she was a member of the Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include; one son; Jerry Lee Winemiller of Paragould, eight
grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by; her husband; Owen Winemiller, her parents;
Charlie and Minnie Downs, two sons; Robert Owen Winemiller, Phillip
Winemiller and one sister; Opal Dempsey.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 7th, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell
Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Sutton officiating, burial will follow in
Linwood Cemetery.

John Myers, 77, of Paragould passed away December 30, 2009 at the Flo & Phil
Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born in Paragould on November 9,
1932 to Orville and Ethel Myers. He was retired from Martin Sprocket and
Gear.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Myers of Paragould and Morris Myers of
Utah; three sisters, Roma Sessum of Cardwell, MO., Elizabeth Folkes of
Summerville, MO and Opal Lamb of Sacramento, CA., one brother, Ray Myers of
Sacramento, CA., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren..
Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy Myers; a son, John Darrell
Myers; his parents; two sisters, Ruth and Marie Myers; two brothers, J.R.
and Bill Myers.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2nd, 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill

Dorothy Murray, 66, of Piggott passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009, at
the Piggott Community Hospital.
Born July 2, 1943, in Hornersville, MO., she was the daughter of the late
Buster and Christine Poe.
Dorothy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Gage; one brother; and
three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Murray of Piggott; four sons, Kevin
Murray and wife, Johnna, of Piggott, Bryan Murray and wife, Janet, of
Paragould, Tommy Murray and wife, Sharon, of Piggott and Tony Gage of Iowa;
one brother, Edgar Allen Poe of Benton Harbor, Mich.; seven grandchildren,
Tanner Murray, Logan Murray, Ethan Murray, Mindy Murray, Millie Murray,
Mollie Osborn and Ella Murray; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 3rd, 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel
Baptist Church in Piggott, with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will be at
Pine Knot cemetery in Paragould.
