Becky Lynn Bowers, 43, of Paragould died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at NEA Medical Center at
Jonesboro.
Born at Kennett, Mo., she was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Bowers; three sons, Eric Mitchell of Delaplaine and
Anthony Crews and Hunter Bowers, both of Paragould; four daughters, Beth Mitchell, Natalie
Crews, Sarah Bowers and Morgan Bowers, all of Paragould; one brother, Roy Thomas Jr. of
Oklahoma; and two sisters, including Donna Hairston of Warner.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel of
Paragould, with the Rev. David Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove
Cemetery at Rector.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Morgan Trust Fund.
Darrell Craft
Darrell Craft, 41, of Paragould died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was born at Paragould.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Craft of Paragould; four daughters, Jullian McMains
of Tampa Bay, Fla., Shannon Letson, Teresa Weaver and Nikki Craft, all of Paragould; five
brothers, Terry Craft of Carpentersville, Ill., Tim Craft of Rockford, Ill., Cecil Craft
of Joliet, Ill., and David Craft and Rodney Craft, both of Paragould; two sisters, Beverly
Schubbe of Rockford and Cindy Hardin of Paragould, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Evelyn Potts Craft.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Burial will
be under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
Pallbearers will be David Craft, Rodney Craft, Tim Craft, John Hardin, Anthony Craft,
Larry Writefel, Jereme Craft and Justin Letson.
Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jerry Dean Foster
Jerry Dean Foster, 63, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Light and lived most of his life in the Jonesboro area. He had previously
worked as a machinist for Colson Caster Corp., and was a member of the Jonesboro Church of
God.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Foster of the home; two sons, Ross Foster of Bay and
Kendall Foster of Paragould; one stepson, David Hotchkiss of Hardy; one daughter, Shawnda
Bundy of Paragould; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Jones of Paragould; three brothers, Bobby
Foster of Marmaduke, Johnnie Foster of Mesa, Ariz., and Kenneth Foster of Macon, Ga.;
three sisters, Janet Lewis of Walnut Ridge, Judy Marie Foster of Portia and Ruthie Brewer
of Purty, Mo.; five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolph and Beulah Foster, and by one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jonesboro Church of God, with the
Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the
direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for 37-year-old Genifer Ann Turner, of Marmaduke, who passed away on
December 7, 2004 at St. Bernard's, will be Friday, December 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the Irby
Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Brother Kim Bridges and Brother Robert De Baun
officiating. Burial will be in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, December 9th, at 6:00 p.m.
Genifer is survived by: her husband, Danny Turner of the home: a daughter, Mazie Jean

Leona Jewell Simmons
Leona Jewell Simmons, 64, of Marmaduke, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Baptist
Medical Center, East, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a member of Lafe
Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, Earl Jefferson Michael, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, James T. Simmons of the home; son, James A. Simmons of
Lafe; daughters, Pam Willis, Patty (Trish) Lane and Lesia Taylor of Lafe; mother, Flora
Virginia Michael; brother Earl (Buddy) Michael, Jr.; and sister, Barbara Simmons, all of
Oak Grove Heights; six grandchildren and one great grandchild due in February, 2005; six
nieces and ten nephews.
Funeral services will be today at 10:30 A.M. at the Lafe Baptist Church with Reverend
David Poe officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow

Willie Gene Tedder, 70, of Paragould died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Arkansas
Methodist
Medical Center. Born in Light, he was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company. He was a
Mason with the Paragould Masonic Lodge and was a member of Walnut Corner Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Willie Gene and
Cindy Tedder of Medina, Ohio, Mark and Lana Tedder and Gerald and Rachelle Tedder of
Paragould; brothers, M.C. Tedder Mark Creel, Lawrence Tedder of Paragould, Eggie Tedder of
Walnut Ridge, Bobby Tedder of Mt. Home; sisters, Shelby Faulkner, Shirley McCord, Yevonne
Swain and Lurline Hambrick of Paragould; Linda Yocum of Wynne, Brenda Cannon of Mountain
Home; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Mack Tedder and his Mother, Reva Robb, and

Estel Amanuel McClain, 82, of Paragould died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Lorado, he was a Navy veteran, a retired machine operator at Frolic Footwear and a
member of the Paragould Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Pearley Mae McClain of Paragould; a son, Thomas Lee McClain of
Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Shirley Jean Ott-manns of Sacramento; a stepson, Robert
Bryson of Para-gould; three stepdaughters, Euvanda Rust, Linda Cleveland and Kay Cooper,
all of Paragould; a sister, Minnie Clark of Paragould; 16 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Estel McClain; his parents, Thomas Edward and
Jeanetta Bobo McClain; and one brother.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Heath Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, with the Rev.
Thomas Cody and the Rev. Doyle Householder officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh
Cemetery at Paragould.

George Ira Burpo, 90, of Paragould died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at NEA Medical Center.
Born at Poplar Bluff, Mo., he was retired from Paragould Water Works and was a World War
II Army veteran. He was a member of Pruetts Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Townsley of Paragould; a brother, Harry Burpo of
Rockford, Ill.; and two sisters, Bernice Hefner of Drummonds, Tenn., and Dorothy Mae
Hughes of Hot Springs; a granddaughter, Robin Dias of Nesbitt, Miss.; and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Purdue Burpo; his parents, George Harry and
Ollie McGee Burpo; and a brother.

the Rev. Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens
Cemetery at Paragould.

Leonard Griffin Boozer
Leonard Griffin Boozer, 75, of Paragould, died Sunday, December 12, 2004, at Arkansas
Methodist Medical Center.
Born December 5, 1929, in Lorado, Arkansas, Mr. Boozer was a former employee of Keasler
Body Company and of Monroe Auto Equipment. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a
member of First Baptist Church, Paragould.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leonard Boozer, Jr. of Paragould, Gary
and Cheryl Boozer of Piggott; one daughter and son-in-law, JoLynne and Jerry Huffstutler
of Paragould; and his former wife, Dorothy Boozer of Piggott. He is also survived by one
brother, Louie Boozer; and one brother-in-law, Jack Copeland, both of Paragould; four
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovel and Mary Boozer and by one sister, Wilma
Lurvene Copeland. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., today, at Mitchell Funeral Home,
Paragould. Funeral service will be 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, at the Mitchell Funeral Home
Chapel with Raymond Atwood and Charles Abanathy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
Zion Cemetery.
Carl E. Hicks
Carl Edmond Hicks, 91, of St. Louis died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 in St. Louis.
Born in Rector, he was a former resident of Hoxie, had worked for Century Electric for 21
years and had been a farmer. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Walnut
Ridge.
Survivors include a son, Boyd Wayne Hicks of Campbell, Mo.; a daughter, Coletta Chandler
of St. Louis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hicks; one son, George Hicks; one daughter,
Carlene Williams; and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home of
Walnut Ridge, with A.J. Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery near
Walcott.

Nellie Shipman James, 73, of Paragould died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at St. Bernard's
Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born in Clay County. Survivors include her daughters, Janet Gough of Paragould,
Nellie Ann Thompson of Ukiah, California, Linda Gail Demitts of Ft. Bragg, California;
sons, John Edward Stover, Woodrow Richard Stover and Carl David Stover all of Paragould;
brothers, James Shipman of Salem, Robert Shipman of Paragould, Gerald Shipman of
Jonesboro; sister, Shirley Shipman of Jonesboro; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great
grandchildren; five nieces, one nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Obid and Viola Gray Shipman; first husband, John

Melba Jean Stover.

Edith Hermalee Keeling, 81, of Paragould, died Friday, December 17, 2004 at Harris
Hospital in Newport. She was retired from Paragould Nursing Center and a member of the Big
Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Albert and Clarsia Bell Rowe Hall,
husband, Corbit Franklin Keeling, daughters, Shellia Maudine and Clarsia Ann Keeling,
brother, Roy Hall.
Edith is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alton and Sandra Keeling of Paragould, AR,
Wayne and Brenda Keeling of Stonewall, AR, Bobby and Linda Keeling of Lafe, AR, daughters

Linda Estelle Robbins of Earle; her maternal grandparents, Michael O'Neal Pitcher and
Donna Lynn Pitcher, both of Paragould; and a maternal great grandmother, Nancy Sharon

Derald E. Barron, 77, of Paragould died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at the Good Samaritan
Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill.
Born in Paragould, he was a retired sales manager for a wholesale food company and a
member of the Center Hill Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Barron of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Carr of Downers
Grove, and two granddaughters, Kristen and Karen Carr of Downers Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, I.O. and Viola Sims Barron and a sister.

with Jon C. Binkley and Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at

James O. Beasley, 88, of Paragould died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Paragould Nursing and
Rehab Center.
Born at Greene County, he was a retired carpenter and of the Pentecostal belief.
Survivors include four sons, Arlie Jay Beasley, Marion L. Beasley, Gearld Beasley and
James F. Beasley, all of Paragould; one daughter, Velma Autry of Paragould; 11
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sterlean Crossno Beasley, and his parents, Jim and
Lucy Dowdy Beasley.

Bobby Lee Ward, 53, of Paragould died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at his home.
Born at Jonesboro, he had lived in Paragould since 1965 and was of the Pentecostal belief.
Survivors include his mother, Geneva Ward of Paragould, and a sister, Darlene Todahl of
Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lee Ward, and two brothers.

the Rev. Bill Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery at Paragould.

Evelyn Luttrell, 75, of Marmaduke died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2004
Born June 3, 1929, at Marmaduke, she was a homemaker and of the Methodist belief.
Mrs. Luttrell was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pat and Murtie Wyatt; her
husband, Bob Luttrell; one son, Bill Wyatt; three brothers, Charlie, Carlos and Louis
Wyatt; and three sisters, Bobie White, Ellen Ramer and Dealie Hale.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Nick Carter of Marmaduke,
Arkansas; one sister, Ealie Gibbs of Lafe, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and
Nicole Carter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mitchell
Funeral Home Chapel of Rector, Arkansas. Kim Bridges officiating. Visitation will be
Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Reverend Jerry Dewayne Gregory
The Rev. Jerry Dewayne Gregory, 63, of Marmaduke died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at Veteran
Affairs Medical Center at Corning.
Born at Corning, he was a General Baptist minister and pastored at Blue Cross General
Baptist Church in Paragould. He had also pastored in Missouri, Illinois and Tennessee.
He served as an international missionary to Jamaica and a national missionary to Florida.
He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Gregory of Marmaduke; a son, Jay Gregory of Marmaduke; a
daughter, Janette Hill of Paragould; seven sisters, Glennia Hoggard and Urbylene Ward,
both of Paragould, Louise Jones, Wanda Morris and Betty Morris, all of Cherokee Village;
Billie Reddick of Grove, Okla., and Shirley Hatcher of Rogue River, Ore.; and five
grandchildren, Tanner Hill, Keller Hill, Mackenzie Hill, Abby Hill and Lee Ann Gregory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Urby and Leoffie Williams Gregory, and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United General Baptist Church in
Paragould, with the Rev. Kermit Patton, the Rev. George Haygood and the Rev. James Henry
Dortch officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery at Lafe. Heath Funeral Home of
Paragould is in charge of arrangements.

Deltha Louise Grimm
Deltha Louise Grimm, 69 of Paragould, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at her residence.
She was born on December 1, 1935 in Joiner, Arkansas. Mrs. Grimm was a former janitor at
Greene County Tech School District and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Hill, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida and Thomas Hill of
Lafe, Arkansas; one brother, Charles Flowers of Alexander, Arkansas; four sisters, Elsie
Dean of Joiner, Arkansas, Evelyn Murphy of Bassett, Arkansas, Lois Dean and Joye Murphy
both of Joiner, Arkansas; a cousin, Orland Coburn of Dyess, Arkansas; five grandchildren
and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Grimm was preceded in death by: her parents, Hillary and Dorothy Flowers; her first
husband, John Hill, Sr. and her second husband, Harry Grimm.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., today, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Walcott,
Arkansas with Dennis Strope officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30
A.M. today at the Mitchell Funeral Home. The funeral procession will leave Mitchell
Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M., today.

Joseph Kurt Krzton
Joseph Kurt Krzton, 28, of Paragould, was found dead Thursday, December 23, 2004, in a
field, 300 yards east of Weavers Salvage, in Paragould, Arkansas. He was born June 14,
1976, in St. Louis, Missouri.
A 1995 graduate of Paragould High School, Joseph was the recipient of the 11th
Chancellor's Scholarship to the University of Arkansas for Computer Science Engineering.
He was an avid computer builder and repair person, personally building over 500 computers
and repairing scores more.
Joseph was exceptionally bright having sold his first computer program to IBM at the age
of 12. President Clinton invited Joseph to Little Rock for the reception of an honor
award.
Joseph was a born again Christian and baptized, and was a member of the Beech Grove
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Jan "Eric" Krzton of Paragould; his mother, Peggy
Koenig of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Kisef Krzton of Florida and Kisef's mother, Kia, also
of Florida; and his maternal grandmother, June Koenig of Imperial, Missouri. He is also
survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Michael Krzton of Paragould, Kimberly Krzton
of Jonesboro, Debra Marie Krzton and Jon Krzton, both of Paragould, stepbrother, Ricky
Betts of Paragould, step sisters, Jessica Betts of Paragould and April Koenig of Tucson,
Arizona and by his stepmother, Jeana Krzton of Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. this evening, casual dress requested, at
Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services for Gary D. Russell, 42, of Paragould, who died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004

Born at Stanford, he was a graduate of Greene County Tech High School and was a general
laborer at Stevens Turf Farm.
Survivors include six brothers, Sam Russell of Marston, Mo., Robert Russell of Cave
Junction, Ore., Allen Russell of Stonewall, and Carl Russell, Jim Russell and Steve
Russell, all of Paragould, and three sisters, Linda Fisher, Faye Rose and Marilyn
Chamberlain, all of Paragould.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Marie Walker Russell, three brothers
and one sister.

Funeral services for Harold Pack, 73, of Orange Park, Florida, who died Friday, Dec. 24,
at Orange Park Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home's
Memorial Chapel.
The Rev. Emil Williams will officiate, and burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Pack, David Pack, Steve Evans, Jerry Pack, Dosie Pack, Aubrey
Pack and Nathan Pack.
A Navy veteran, he was a magna cum laude graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan
and was a retired civil engineer for Proctor and Gamble. He had lived in Kansas City,
Kan., before moving to Orange Park 12 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Pack of Orange Park; three sons, Norman Wayne Pack and
Larry Allen Pack, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and David Brian Pack of Atlanta; a daughter,
Janis Ann Evans of Orange Park; four brothers, Aubrey Pack, Nathan Pack and Dossie Pack,
all of Jonesboro, and Jerry Pack of Forth Worth, Texas; three sisters, Lawanda Marie Gott
of Jonesboro, Elaine Payton of Springfield, Mo., and Eloise Stone of Little Rock, and
seven grandchildren, Jenna Pack, Tyler Evans, Brittany Evans, Brian Pack, Austin Pack,
Christopher Pack and Caitlin Pack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eva Mae Ellington Pack; one sister, and
one brother.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Christian Family Chapel in
Jacksonville, Fla., with Doug Rutt officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at
Emerson Funeral Home.
Mike Okawa
Funeral services for 78 year old, Mike Okawa, of Rector, who passed away on December 26,
2004 will be Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Interment
will be in Woods Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors are four brothers: Chester Okawa, of Oceanside, CA, Kaza Okawa of Los Angeles,
CA, John Okawa of Montebell, CA and Lamar Okawa of Las Vegas, NV.
Earnest D. Adams
Earnest D. Adams, 89, of Saint Ann died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Rosewood Nursing Home
in Creve Coeur, Mo.
Born at Paragould, he was a Word War II Army veteran and a carpenter and farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorene Mohrman of Overland, Mo.; a brother, J.C. Adams of
Bridgeton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Theresa Gray of Bridgeton and Michael Mohrman of
Overland; two great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded by his wife, Monie Alma Williams Adams; his parents, David and Mable
Adams; a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel, with
the Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Walcott.
Pallbearers will be David Mohrman, Mike Mohrman, John Gray, Brett Gray, James Rumfelt and
Willie Williams.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Baby Justin Matthew Hall was born and died December 26, 2004, in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was survived by his parents, Dave and Karen Hopper Hall of Paragould; grandparents,
David Hall of Paragould; grandmother, Debbie Hall of St. Louis, Missouri; DeWayne and
Jackie Hopper of Paragould; great grandparents, Charles Hopper of Paragould, Billie Haynes
of Paragould and Jim and Gloria Pulliam of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Tom Haynes and Novolyne Hopper.
Funeral services are this afternoon at 1:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home with burial
following at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Lucille May
Lucille May, 83, of Cardwell, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. May was born June 18, 1921, in Greene County, Arkansas. She retired from Ed White
Shoe Factory and Frolic Footwear.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Edward "Eddie" and Kathy
Hannah of Senath, Missouri; one daughter, Glenda Sue Nelson of Peoria, Illinois; one
sister and brother-in-law, Martha Jane and "Fletch" Fletcher of Decatur,
Illinois; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents, Chesley and Victoria Wells; her first
husband, James Houston Hannah; her second husband, Charles May; five brothers, Kenneth,
Leland, Edward, Harold, and Eugene Wells; and by five sisters, Eunice Rule, Lois Wells,
Hazel Jackson Greenway, Inez Helm and Bernice Rowe.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Friday at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould,
with Kenneth Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon, Friday, until service time.
Pallbearers will be Nick Weldon, Ron Weldon, Mike Weldon, David Wells, Lee Wells and Mike
Wells.
Randy Adams
Funeral services for Randy Adams, 54, of Jonesboro, who died Sunday, Dec. 26, at Proctor,
will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
The Rev. Charles Edward Dickerson will officiate. Burial will be private.
Born at Paragould, she lived in Jonesboro most of her life and was a 1967 graduate of
Jonesboro High School. She was an X-ray technician for several years.
Survivors include her mother, Nona Adams and adoptive father, Bob Adams, both of
Jonesboro; her father and stepmother, Randal and Sherman Ann Sims, both of Proctor; two
brothers, Todd Adams and Derek Adams, both of Jonesboro; a stepbrother, Chris Sims of St.
Louis, and two half-sisters, Becky Turpin and Sherry Lassitter, both of Proctor.

John Riley Brown, 64, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at VA Medical Center in
Little Rock.
Born at Paragould, he was an Army and Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Athena Lee Brown of the home; three sons, John Foster, Paul
Foster and Daniel Foster, all of Trona, Calif., and three sisters, Joe Ann Wallace of Glen
Burnie, Md., Mary "Kitty" Ruzicka of Pasadena, Md., and Candice Rulong of San
Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Francis and Selma Gertrude Brown, a
brother, two sisters, three half-brothers and a half-sister.
A memorial service was held Monday at Holy Ridge Church of God at Traskwood, with Phill
Prenkert officiating. Burial was in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.

Gerri May, 68, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born at St. Louis, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include three sons, Shane May and Kevin May, both of Paragould, and Brett May of
Hernando, Miss.; a daughter, Paula Owens of Albany, Ky.; her mother, Marie Green of St.
Louis; three sisters, Juanita Henry, Lorraine Weber and Jean Overkamp, all of St. Louis,
and three grandchildren, Jessica McIver, Lance May and Anna Clara May.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey May; her father, Oliver Green; a sister and
a brother.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery,
with David Moseley officiating. The funeral procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home of
Paragould at 1:15 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie May, John Robert May, Mike LaFarlette, Mickey Mathis, Kevin
May, Brett May, Buddy Owens and Shane May.

Maudeen McGowan, 76, of Paragould died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Paragould Nursing and
Rehab Center.

Survivors include a son, Tim McGowan of Paragould; a daughter, Karen Beasley of Paragould;
a sister, Lucille Meadows of Paragould; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton McGowan; her parents, Albert
"Dutch" and Maudie Reynolds; two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery,

Pauline "Polly" Walters, 87, of Paragould died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at her
residence.
Born in Greene County, she was a lifetime resident of Paragould and a charter member of
Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Mobley, Dorothy Dunnigan, Elizabeth Braman and
Janet Rodriguez, all of Paragould; six grandsons, Donald Mobley, Bruce Mobley, Richard
Mobley and Santiago Rodriguez, all of Paragould, Bruce Braman of Beech Grove and Jason
Braman of Rector, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee W. Walters; a daughter, Brenda K. Remagen;
her parents, John R. and Addie Mae Ward; her stepmother, Goldie Johnson; five brothers and
eight sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould, with
Russell Shewmaker officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mildred Bridges
Mildred Bridges, 79, of Cordova, Tennessee, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at McKendree
Village Nursing Home in Hermitage, Tenn.
Born in Lafe, she was a retired supervisor of printing for Holiday Inn and a member of
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Bridges of Starkville, Miss., and Charles Bridges of
Mount Juliet, Tenn.; a brother, Norman Panhorst of Paragould; a sister, Sanndra Lilly of
Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.D. Bridges; her parents, Martin and Leona
Scheer Panhorst; and one brother.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel with Maurice
Hurd officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens at Paragould.

Russell Andrew Shatley, 97, of Cardwell died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at St. Bernard's
Medical Center.
Born in Paragould, he was a retired custodian and bus driver for the Greene County Tech
School District. He was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church of Cardwell.
Survivors include three sons, Leon Shatley of Sterling Heights, Mich., Hughlen D. Shatley
of Paragould and Curtis D. Shatley of Jonesboro; three daughters, Ewald B. Frontz of Old
Hickory, Tenn., Sharon Burroughs of Hermitage, Tenn., and Carla D. Swindle of Paragould; a
sister, Glenevee Jones of Fennville, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and
four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alline Shatley; his parents, Andrew J. and Melinda
Rose Shatley; infant triplets; three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Leland Jim
Dement officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers, and granddaughters will serve as honorary
pallbearers.

Born July 8, 1943 at Stanford, she had worked as a communications representative for
Teleflora and attended Newton Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Jason Houston of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Patsy Sollis of
Corning, and two grandsons, Bryant Alexander Houston and Aaron Jeffrey Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Deward Bomont and Dora Dorine Davis Miller, and
a brother.

Anna B. Staires, 83, of Sullivan, Missouri, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Meramec Nursing
Center in Sullivan.

Florrisant, Mo.; one brother, Wayne Starnes of Little Rock; four sisters, Sue Gainey of
