W.L. Holland, 81, of Independence, Missouri died Thursday, August, 25, 1977, in Independence. He was born February 18, 1896 in Paducah, Kentucky to John N. and Martha Lenora (Poe) Holland.

Mr. Holland had been a resident of Greene County for a number of years before moving to Missouri.

Survivors include his son, J.L. Holland of Independence, two daughters, Berniece Hymes of Sugar Creek, Mo. and Joy A. Sine of Independence, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his wife Clara Evelyn Hilliard/Holland and his parents.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 28, at Heath Funeral Home. Reverand John Bauer will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Walcott.
