Sept. 6, 1917

Joe Kirby has returned from his Uncle Ed Westbrook at Jonesboro.

Mrs. G. L. Brannon and children have returned home at Rector, after a visit with Mrs. Brannon's father T. O. Simpson .

Will Harvey of near Gainesville has enlisted in the U.S. Navy and will leave tonight for Jonesboro.

Mrs. H.J. McDaniel age 50 years of Rt. 1 died yesterday burial took place at Brown's Chapel this afternoon.

Mr. & Mrs. Wm. W. Wright have returned from New Orleans where they visited his son Warren who enlisted in the Navy several months ago and has been stationed there . Warren is ill with tuberculosis.

Mrs. Arthur Vessels, age 20 died of appendicitis at 12 o'clock last night at the local sanitarium. .Her remains were shipped to her former home at Campbell today.

Miss Jennie McElvaney of Texarkana is the guest of her aunt Mrs. J. E. Reeves.

The 18 month old child of Mr. & Mrs. Finley who lives south of town died last night .

Thursday, Sept 20, 1917

J. O. Alexander spent Monday in Paragould with his aunt Helen Rodery. He left Thursday morning for his home at Lake City, Arkansas.  Mr. Alexander has just received his discharge from the Navy having served 4 yrs.

Six month old child of Mr. & Mrs. J. H. McDaniel died last night at the family home six miles east of town.

Mrs. E. S. Brewer died last night of Typhoid - pneumonia at her home 2 miles west of town. She is survived by her husband also two children age 5 and 8. Burial at Center Hill Cemetery.

R. L. Seaborn age 24, died of typhoid Wed. at the home of his parents 4 miles north of town. He is survived by his parents and 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Burial at Fairview Cemetery.

Mon. Sept. 15, 1919

Announcements have been received of the birth of a son. William Ward Gregg on Sept. 2nd, to Mr. & Mrs. Chas E. Gregg. Mrs. Gregg was formerly Miss Zula Ward of Greenway and for several years a music teacher in the public school.
