Dr. C.M. Baker Retires
After 41 years of medical service to Paragould,
Dr. C.M. Baker retired this year. He bagan his practice in Paragould in 1948. He along with Dr. Jacob Williams came from the Dickson Memorial Hospital. Baker delivered the first set of twins at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in 1950. Weldon Riley, father of the twins, said he remembered Dr. Baker sitting on the stairs at AMH all night anxiously awaiting the time that he would deliver the twin boys. |
He received a bachelor's degree from Arkansas
State University in Jonesboro. His medical education was at the University of Arkansas
School of Medicine. He is a member of the Greene-Clay County Medical Society, the Arkansas Medical Society and the American Medical Association, and has served on committees at Arkansas Methodist Hospital and was Chief-of-Staff in 1955, 1960 and 1970. He and his wife, Inez, have two sons, Murl and J.R. |
