John P McKinney was born 14 March 1850 in Kentucky or Missouri (see census
records 1880 &1900).    His parents names are unknown.

He was married to Fannie Thompson ( mother of three children),  J. N.
Bonner and Jennie Lee.

John P. McKinney died on 16 December 1902 as a result of a kick in the
stomach by his pony that he was currying in his small log barn.  His
spleen was ruptured (told by Sterling V McKinney).  He is buried at Trinity
Cemetery near Bono, Arkansas.

This and the photo in front of the house with his sons and step-son are the
only know photos.  His description on the back of the picture states that his
hair is black with some gray in it, his skin is fair, and his eyes are dark brown.
