REPUBLICAN

The remains of "Uncle" Joe Nichols, who came to this part of the country many years ago, and who was held in high esteem by all who knew him, were buried in the cemetery here last Friday. His first wife and the former husband of his surviving widow, "Uncle" Giles Cain, both were buried here over 30 years ago. W.M. Harper made a good talk, a particularly impressive thought being contained in the statement that ones funeral is preached more adequately by the example of their own life than by any other means. "Uncle" Joe enjoyed singing until the infirmities of age interfered, one favorite song being "Shed No Tears For Me."
