Seeking more info on the Prices: James Madison Price, a blacksmith b in AL and Methodist lay-minister, was in Monticello in the 1920-s, died late 1930s; his two sons, Arthur, b 1888, died 1965, and Thomas, b 1880, d 1969. They were the father and half-brothers of my grandfather, Brad Price, and I can find nothing on them. James Price did quite a bit of work for the city and county, Arthur loved to "ramble and gamble" and Thomas was very talented musically. James was also a Methodist lay-minister. Would appreciate knowing where they are buried, if they ever married, names of children, etc. which excerpts from newspaper re: obituary, etc. |

My gfather, James David WYLES according to family legend, was born in the Rock Creek area north of Monticello in 1885. He was the son of William WYLES and Sarah ALLEN, who were married in Star City, AR. His father, William WYLES, his wives: Florence RAMICK and Myrtle Naomi BURRESS; his brother William W. are buried in Grapevine Cemetery, Grant Co. Ark. His mother is buried in a cemetery on the other side of Hwy 81, called Campground something according to family Bible records. James David WYLES always told me she was buried in Rock Creek Cemetery. We went there several times, but could never find her grave. Would like any info on any WYLES, FORREST, ALLEN, or on the cemetery. I remember going to several funerals in Monticello, back when Highway 35 was still gravel. Names I remember are: Captian, Cooter, Aunt Jenny, Aunt Ann, Aunt Kate, Uncle Will (who lived here). Will share any information I have, and appreciate any offered. |

Can anyone help me in finding a census for Drew Co. AR, 1870? I'm searching for Anderson Atkins and have found an index listing one in 1870, Drew Co. I'm not sure he's the one I'm looking for, but need to find out. I know he did live in AR, as his first son was born there. Can't find him anywhere. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
