Cameron | Diane Yarbrough | mldyarb@aol.com | Frances E. Cameron Bailey: (My 2nd GG Grandmother) Looking for her parents.
1870 AR Census Monticello Clear Creek Township shows: Mary Cameron (66)F W Farmer SC Frances Cameron (14) F W At Home SC Sarah Cameron(4) F W At Home SC From additional research I strongly suspect that Mary is the grandmother. I have traced a Mary Sparks Cameron, who was married to James Hawthorne Cameron, from South Carolina to Texas. Mary consistantly shows up with James in earlier censuses and ends up in the Rusk County Texas Census through 1870 and no further. Our Arkansas Mary only begins to show up in Monticello in 1870 as Head of Household and again in 1880 living with Frances and her husband John Marion Bailey. I have a suspicion that Frances nor Sarah were not born in South Carolina. Could Frances' father have been Ewing (Erving) L. Cameron or James Mott Cameron, (Texas Mary's sons)? |
