John Elmer (J.E.) Alexander, age 80 of Bearden, Arkansas passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at his home. He was born December 4, 1926, a son of the late Robert Earl and Nannie Lou Hogg Alexander. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Bernice Alexander of 50 years and son John Elmer Alexander, Jr. He worked as postmaster three years and as rural carrier 28 years. He spent a lifetime raising cattle and he was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife, Rudine Kelley Alexander of Bearden; one son, James E. Alexander and his wife, Cindy of Bearden; one grandson, Jason Alexander of Bearden; one granddaughter, Christy Pennington and husband Nathan of Hampton; one brother, Robert Alexander and his wife Rachel of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Lonice Dunlap of Holly Springs, Dot Elliott of IL and Vada Howze of FL; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; three step sons, J.M. Kelley of Benton, LA, H. Randy Kelley of Locust Bayou and Lt. Col John P. Kelley of Virginia Beach, VA. Memorials may be made to OCMC Hospice PO Box 797 Camden, AR 71701. Visitation will be Tuesday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with J.M. Kelley officiating.
