The Willcox Family
The
Willcox family came from England and lived in Halifax, North
Carolina for awhile, then moving to Maury County, Tennessee.
The Willcox family arrived in Dallas County around 1850 with
the arrival of Robert Johnson Willcox and his wife Jane Davies
Wallis. Robert died around 1854 and is buried in Louisiana,
Jane died 03 Dec 1885 and is buried in Arkadelphia, Clark
County, Ark. Their children were Ann McGhee, Martha Eliza,
Chiles McGhee, Littlebury James. Margarett J., Robert Willis,
Elonissa Harriet, Elizabeth Betheland & Josephine
Roberta. Most lived in and around Dallas County, Arkansas.
One child, Chiles McGhee Willcox is the ancestor of Roy
D. Willcox; and much of the information and pictures
were provided by Roy.

1. Chiles McGhee WILLCOX. Chiles was
born in Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee, on 22 Oct 1834.
Chiles died in Dallas County, Arkansas, on 12 Aug 1919;
he was 84. Occupation: Farmer.
On 28 Feb 1861 when Chiles was 26, he married
Susannah Cheney “Susan” RAMBO, daughter of Augustus
Baldwin RAMBO (16 Mar 1809-1 Dec 1846) & Julia Ann MALONE
(1815-22 Jan 1868), in Dallas County, Arkansas. Susannah
was born in Clark County, Arkansas,
on 28 Feb 1842. Susannah died in
Dallas County, Arkansas, on 29 Aug 1878; she was 36.

Dallas County, Arkansas, on 28 Nov 1849. Mary died
on 28 Dec 1881; she was 32.
