Emmett J. Harrison

Emmett J. Harrison, 81, of Sparkman died May 31, 2001 at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born Nov. 8, 1919 at Pine Grove, son of the late Ollie and Josephine Owens Harrison. He was a log cutter and a member of Harmony Baptist Church at Sparkman.

Survivors include: His wife, Laura Hughes Harrison; five sons, Travis Harrison of Detroit, Mich., James Harrison, Ollie Harrison and Samuel Harrison of Milwaukee, Wis., and Rodney Harrison of Malvern; three daughters, Anne Gaine of Inglewood, Calif., and Kathy Cunningham and Unitta Harrison of Sparkman; a brother, Ezekiel Harrison of Sparkman; and 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was today at Harmony Baptist Church of Sparkman with Rev. Frank Dawn officiating. Burial was in Harmony Community Cemetery under the direction of Marks Funeral Home of Fordyce.
